Chapter 151 - Contract Wife Morning, My Darling CEO
Third Person POV
Sarah, a character seemingly deep and sophisticated, was, in reality, just a teenage girl.
She was not used to being in the presence of men, so she found it difficult to withstand the intense gaze of Noah, her cheeks flushed red with embarrassment as she felt momentary panic flash through her.
She took a step backwards and lowered her gaze before she nervously tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, trying to regain her composure.
“It's getting late. So, I won't see you off. Please leave,” she said, avoiding his penetrating gaze.
She turned and was about to leave when, suddenly, Noah swiftly blocked her path, his warm palm firmly holding her hand as he tugged her towards him.
“Cher, why are you hiding from me?” he questioned, pain flickering in his eyes.
Sarah had a moment’s panic in her heart but tried to maintain her cool composure as she turned to him and responded coldly...
“I'm not hiding anything from you. I don't know what you're talking about,”.
Noah's dark eyes searched hers intensely, and an imperceptible pain surged in his eyes. “Please, don't do this again. Stop pushing me away, Cher. Whenever I try to get closer to you, you take two steps backwards. Please, give me a chance, and I'll give you one too, okay?”
Cassidy's eyes widened with surprise at his statement. The last statement he just made sounded too familiar because he once said it to her. Even though he had been joking at that time. But now… his expression was serious and his eyes were solemn. Besides, this line wasn't part of the script.
Her mind spun, as her heart got filled with a thousand emotions. Her brain went numb as she stared at him. Suddenly, she watched as he lowered his head slowly as if to kiss her.
Cassidy froze with fright, she lost her balance and stumbled to the ground. She was almost nearing the ground when Adrian swiftly caught her, pulling her into his arms.

A camera stationed at a distance captured the beautiful scene of their intimate embrace. One of them, which was Cassidy who was gazing at him in surprise, while the other, Adrian's eyes, were affectionate as he looked down at her, creating a beautiful and ambiguous moment.
Flustered, Cassidy pushed him away. Her voice was shaky.
“What... what are you doing? Why are you getting so close?”
Adrian feigned innocence as he stared at her with confusion.
“What do you mean, Miss Hart?” he asked.
“Just now… what were you trying to do?” Cassidy was almost hysterical.
“Oh, that…” Adrian nodded innocently as he explained, “It was part of the scene. It's strange that you're so surprised,”.
Her brain finally caught up, realizing that there was indeed a kissing scene scheduled for that moment – Noah was supposed to kiss Sarah passionately.
She frowned in annoyance, her voice weakened.
“Even if it's part of the scene, I won't shoot kissing scenes,”.
“Why?” Adrian arched his brow.
“Because it didn’t seem like you were doing it for shooting's sake. It looked like it was going to be a real kiss,”.
“Of course, I have to kiss you, Cassidy. It's just a performance,” Adrian patiently replied.
Then he had a sudden realization and leaned in closer,
“Cass, are you blushing because you were flustered?”
Cassidy glared at him and then whispered,
“Adrian, tell me the truth, are you gay?”
His handsome face stiffened, and a cold, sharp glint appeared in his eyes. He remained silent, making her feel uneasy.
Quickly realizing that she may have broached a sensitive topic, she backtracked hoping her explanations would make him understand.
“I... I just want to make sure. There’s no other meaning, I promise,”.
He threw his head backwards and let out a mirthless laugh, but there was no warmth in his eyes.
“Why?” he arched his brows “Do you discriminate against people who are gay?”
Her heart sank. She hadn't meant to offend him, but she couldn't undo her words. In her mind, she recalled his PA – Linda's warnings about mentioning such topics frequently, but she had already made the mistake several times.
But she couldn’t help it. The whole situation was too ambiguous no matter how much she tried to ignore it. In addition, he had lied to her that he was the one who helped her last time when it was Chad. Everything was so strange, so she couldn’t help but doubt his sexual orientation.
However, just now that she asked, he indirectly admitted that he was gay and she would never ask again.
The atmosphere between them felt heavy, and the conversation seemed to hit a dead end. Director Nathan’s voice broke the tension.
“Great scene, let’s move on to the next one,”.
Adrian's face darkened, but he quickly regained his composure, returning to the modest gentleman he always exuded.
At about 10 p.m., the day’s shooting finally ended. Cassidy packed up her stuff and prepared to leave. However, Adrian didn’t move. He just remained in his chair, his expression gloomy and angry, while Linda, his PA, tried to talk to him. He kept staring in the direction Cassidy had gone until she completely disappeared from his sight.
Linda noticed this abnormality and was worried.
“Mr Moss, what’s wrong with you? Are you…” she trailed off.
She didn’t dare ask him if he was ill. She could only stare at him anxiously.
Adrian’s chest heaved as he sighed, then got up and left. Linda was very worried. She wanted to follow behind him immediately but she didn’t dare. Out of the corner of her eyes, she noticed Jasmine approaching, so she immediately went over and asked.
“Miss Jasmine, where are you going?”
Jasmine looked exhausted and bereft of her usual charm. She responded lightly…
“I’m going home,”.
“Okay. Please can you help me out? I forgot to give Miss Hart something. Could you help me give her? She said and took out a lipstick from her bag.
What was Cassidy’s lipstick doing in her bag? Jasmine wondered.
Even though she was confused, she still collected the lipstick and gave Linda a reassuring smile.
“That’s fine. I have something to say to her anyway,”.
“Thank you, Miss Jasmine,” Linda smiled “If you’re not in a hurry, I suggest you go find her now,”.
“Sure thing,” Jasmine nodded, hiding the gloom she felt.
The film and television city is very big. It wasn’t only a place for shooting, but was filled with various vendors and tourists. Cassidy walked towards the exit, using the same route which she always used and her pace was fast. However, she couldn't shake the feeling that someone was following her.
It was the same way she had felt some days ago when she was driving and felt that someone was following her. She wondered if it was the same person.
She looked back but found nothing suspicious except people and traffic and, for a moment, she wondered if she was just paranoid.
She sighed as her heart raced in relief. Beads of sweat settled on her forehead. She has faced a lot of misfortunes recently, so she had to be careful.
Maybe she would go to a church and pray to God to help her resolve the problems she was facing.
Stilling herself, she continued moving. The feeling that someone was following her returned and she felt the presence getting closer and closer. Every pore on her body felt taut, and every passerby made her tremble. Was it her imagination, or was someone purposely trying to scare her?
Cassidy found a secluded corner and instinctively reached for the dagger she carried in her bag for self-defence. Her heart raced, and the adrenaline pumped through her veins. Her senses were heightened, and she felt on edge.
The footsteps grew nearer, and as she sensed the person getting closer, she quickly prepared to defend herself. However, much to her surprise, it was Jasmine who emerged from the shadows.
The knife was only a few inches away from Jasmine when she stepped back in alarm, her expression wary. Jasmine gazed at her with a mixture of hurt and uncertainty.
Relieved, Cassidy put away the knife, but her guard was still up.
“So, it’s you,” she said dryly. “Why were you following me? Do you know how scary it is?”
Jasmine ran her tongue on her dry lips and hesitated “I have something to say to you,”.
“There’s nothing to say between us, Jasmine. It’s too late, just go home and sleep,” Cassidy said and calmly put away her knife, then briskly passed by Jasmine, not wanting to engage in any conversation.
However, Jasmine ran after her and blocked her path. Her face was haggard and her eyes were filled with tears. From every indication, it was clear that she hadn’t been sleeping well lately.
“Cassidy, I'm sorry," she said with sincerity.
Jasmine used to call her ‘Cass’ – in a sweet and charming girl-like manner, unlike the formal, serious and solemn apology she had going on now.
Cassidy couldn't decide whether to be happy or angry. A sarcastic smile played on her lips as she responded,
“Sorry? If you're referring to the Tweep incident, there's no need to apologize. You didn't do anything wrong. People have different opinions, and that's normal. No need to apologize,”.
“But I want to,” Jasmine smiled weakly, tears welling up in her eyes. “Cass, you’re very important to me. Hurting you is like hurting myself. I thought I had overcome this difficulty, but... it's still hard,”.
Her voice choked, and she sighed, attempting to regain her composure. "I have my difficulties and I hope you can forgive me,".
