Chapter 150 - Contract Wife Morning, My Darling CEO
Third Person POV
Cassidy’s eyes widened in surprise.
“Are you the one behind all this?” she stuttered.
“Who’s behind what?” Chad arched his brow as a shallow smile crossed his face. “This is not enough reason to praise someone you know. I should punish evil and promote good no matter what,”.
Amused by his reaction, Cassidy rose to her feet as she crossed the room to where he stood and circled her hand around his neck as she said gently.
“Thank you, Chad… for everything too,”.
After this incident, it’ll take a special miracle for Tricia to return to the entertainment industry. As far as Cassidy was concerned, her career was over.
Chad lowered his head as he kissed her gently, allowing his lips to linger on hers for a moment before he pulled away and placed his forehead on hers.
“You know you don’t have to be polite to me. Do you really have nothing to say?” he asked.
Cassidy detected a hinge of anxiety in his voice as he spoke, making her wonder what could be causing his anxiety.
“Am I supposed to say something?” Cassidy wondered.
“I don’t know, Cass,” Chad sighed. “Do you think my methods are too cruel?’
He knew more than any other person that Cassidy was soft-hearted and he was worried that she would condemn his brutal means even though what he did to Tricia was what he considered a light punishment, especially in the history of all his punishments.
Even when he had instructed his men, they kept expecting him to add to their task because they felt it was too simple.
If not for Cassidy, he would have dealt properly with Tricia.
“No, you did the right thing,” Cassidy shook her head after a moment’s deliberation. “Tricia made me pass through hell and several times I tried to be lenient to her but she wasn’t interested in returning the favour. Just like you said, she deserves everything that happened to her,”.
“Then,” Chad tilted her jaw in his direction “Why do you still look sad?” and ran his hand through her hair.
Cassidy’s mind flitted to Jasmine and remembered how she had deserted her when she needed her support the most. She sighed, as she thrust the thoughts from her mind and smiled brightly at Chad.
“Nothing, I’m just hungry,”.
“Are you sure?” Chad scanned her face.
“Yeah,” she chuckled “A hungry woman is a sad woman. I just want to eat,”.
“That’s new,” Chad touched her nose “You’re in luck because I already made breakfast. Tell me, where can you find a husband like me on the entire earth?”
His eyes dimmed with pride as he spoke. Cassidy smiled as she held his face and kissed him.
“You’re right. You’re like Zeus, unique and the absolute best. I must have suffered too much in my last life and you were sent as a consolation to me,”.
“Why do you say that?” Chad eyed her strangely.
She knew what he was thinking and pursed her lips as she stared at the seriousness on his face. Then she laughed and kissed his lips as she said gently.
“Because I suffered too much in my previous life. On the day before I died, I met you and you promised to come with me in this life,”.
“Mr West,” she sighed as she paused slightly, “I hand over my future happiness to you,”.
Chad took her hand and dropped a gentle kiss on the back of her palm. His eyes were solemn as he stared at her.
“Cass, I promise to prove to you that you made the best choice. I won’t joke about this precious gift you’ve handed over to me,”.
At this time, promises were just mere words, so if he truly wanted to convince her, he would prove it with all of his actions.
Cassidy couldn’t help but laugh when she saw his seriousness. She snuggled up to him and sighed.
“All this talking has made me hungrier. Let’s go eat,”.
Hand in hand, they walked to the dining room, which was already set. They settled down on the table and started eating.
“Wow, babe,” Cassidy sighed in relish after taking the first spoon. “This is so delicious. You keep getting better and better. At this rate, I dare say you’d give any five-star chef a run for their money,” she gave him a thumbs-up sign.
“You’re my muse, Cass. When I remember that I have a hungry wife to feed, I have no other option but to be amazing in the kitchen,”.
“Yeah,” she pouted. “Your cooking keeps getting better and I feel a bit sorry for you,”.
“Why do you feel sorry for me?” the smile left Chad’s face as he grabbed her hand.
“Because you’re just perfect, Chad. You help me fight with my enemies outside and then you wash your hand, come home and make me delicious meals. But…” she trailed off “I am not good at anything,”.
She unconsciously raised the fork in her hand and wielded it as if it were a magic wand, as she threw her head backwards laughing. Her laughter sounded like a spring flower.
“Darling, let’s ride the waves together and conquer it,”.
Chad’s heart felt like it would burst with happiness as he paused for a moment. He felt like he was close to the sun and the warmth of how much he loved Cassidy flowed into every part of his body.
He stared at her with his eyes burning with passion.
“I told you last time dear, so you don’t have to say these words to me again,”.
“Last time?” Cassidy’s brows furrowed with momentary confusion as she pondered on what he was talking about. Then she finally remembered what he meant.
“Oh, do you mean when Jasmine came online and addressed the issue of online criticism back then?”
“Yes, that’s the one,” he nodded “Well, you still owe me,” he mentioned with a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Her cheeks flushed red as she bit her lips in embarrassment. Deep in her heart, she was also wondering if Adrian had lied to her. He had claimed that he was the one that had helped her back then.

After the meal, Cassidy went on set and soon as she entered, all eyes rested on her from all directions. After all, the events of the past two days have revolved around her. Some admired her calm composure and courage, while others couldn’t help but feel envious of her seemingly good fortune.
Everyone knew that she had successfully passed this hurdle, while Tricia was at the receiving end of the whole misfortune.
“Why is everyone staring at me?” she scanned the room. “What are you all expecting me to do?” she retorted.
They all gave her a strained look as everyone quickly dispersed like birds muttering about going to do something important. Finally, Director Nathan came to her. His eyes were apologetic.
“Cassidy, I’m sorry that I couldn’t help you this time. It’s just…”.
“What are you talking about?” She interrupted him, giving him a resentful look as she gently touched his harm, a playful smile settled on her lips.
“These past few days have indeed been chaotic, but I barely remember what happened. So, Teacher Nath, you shouldn’t,”.
Cassidy understands his reserve about helping her with everything that happened. This was the entertainment industry and it was filled with lots of complexities where personal interests were considered first.
She understood that to save him from going under, he couldn’t stand up and speak up for her. That the best way to go about situations like this was to completely ignore it.
Tan Yang couldn't help but feel delighted by her thoughtfulness and consideration.
“Of course, I won't dwell on the past. By the way, I've already let go of those walk-on actors who talked nonsense about you before. As for Tricia, she won't be cast as the third female lead - Jennifer, again in the future. I'll find someone new to fill the role,”.
As he spoke, a tinge of disappointment crept into his voice. After all, Tricia had been his initial choice for the role, but the unexpected turn of events had left him feeling disheartened.
Cassidy smiled brightly at him…
“Don't worry, I know you'll sort everything out at the end, and I trust your decisions,”.
Director Nathan cheered up at Cassidy’s kind words and he shouted…
“Alright then, let’s work hard and finish ‘When Heart Meets’ and deliver it with the best quality of acting ever seen,”.
His infectious enthusiasm spread to Cassidy, and immediately she took her place in front of the camera.
About three minutes later, Jasmine emerged from the dressing room. Her gaze immediately sought out Cassidy. Her usually affectionate eyes lacked their usual sparkle, replaced instead with a hint of profound sadness as if countless unspoken words were begging to be said.
“Hey,” Jasmine murmured when she drew near to Cassidy.
“Hi,” Cassidy answered abruptly with a nod as she turned back to the camera immediately, barely sparing her a glance.
Cassidy’s focus was solely on the work at hand as they began shooting.
From that moment on, Jasmine had no opportunity to speak to Cassidy except when they both had a line together. All of their interactions were strictly limited to what was necessary for the production.
Jasmine seemed like she wanted to say more, but Cassidy was no longer interested. She no longer wanted to be seen as someone who cared deeply; she preferred to be an ordinary stranger.
At about Ten o’clock, Adrian, who plays the male lead, finally arrived and he was late. He quickly changed into a smoky blue gown which highlighted his handsome features and picturesque appearance, adding a touch of romance and elegance.
Today's scenes involved interactions between the second female lead and the male lead. When Cassidy saw him, she quickly changed her clothes and approached with the script in hand.
“Let's rehearse our scenes together. The encounters between these two characters always feel prolonged, and it makes me feel almost nothing,”.
Adrian readily agreed, and immediately transitioned into his professional demeanour as he fell into character, immediately acting like the affectionate yet stern character of Noah Stark.
“You shouldn’t have come here, please leave,” Cassidy said, portraying Sarah.
She stood firm with one hand behind her back, emanating an elegant aura.
Noah scoffed,
“You're lying, Cher. You’re reluctant to let me go, because you are lonely,”.
She furrowed her brows slightly, responding,
“It's presumptuous to assume another's feelings,”.
“Am I wrong? The grand goddess palace may seem luxurious, but at its core, it's just a cage. And since you’re the goddess, Sarah, I know you are lonely,”.
His words weren't questions, but rather confident statements. The man's eyes glinted brightly as if trying to peer into the depths of her soul.
