Chapter 105 ALL OVER
Chapter 105 ALL OVER
Leah
"I told you it's not necessary," I whined for what had to be the fifth time as we stepped into yet another store.
"It is," he replied, already pointing at a Cartier diamond bracelet.
The saleslady's smile brightened instantly as she rushed to bring it out.
I sighed, folding my arms and pouting as I watched the both of them have their little conversation.
He had insisted on getting something for my parents, saying he couldn't show up empty-handed. I still thought it was unnecessary, but I wasn't complaining since I got to see a nervous side of him even though he refused to admit it.
When he turned and caught me pouting, a smirk tugged at his lips as he leaned down and pressed a soft kiss to them.
"I just want everything to be perfect, doll."
"They will love you," I whispered, looking up at him.
"I won't give them a chance not to."
He said that and still dragged me into another store.
Thirty minutes later, we somehow ended up in the kid's section.
"This wasn't the plan, Aiden," I groaned, watching him inspect another toy.
"But you were the one who went, 'Aww, Roman would love that car,'" he said, doing a terrible imitation of my voice.
"But you already picked seven more!"
He held up a box with a helicopter on it, completely ignoring me. "Do you think he'll like this?"
"Yeah. He loves anything you get him."
A proud smile spread across his face as he moved to another shelf.
When he finally stopped, I exhaled, "Now, can we go back to shopping for my parents?"
He shook his head and stopped in front of a women's underwear store.
"Now, this," he said, "is important."
I raised an eyebrow. "I've underwear."
"That I remember ripping all week," he said.
I blinked. "Shut up," I whispered, glaring at him as I stepped closer. "Can you not say things like that out loud?"
"Let's go," he chuckled, grabbing my hand.
"No. I'm not going in there, and you won't make me," I said, snatching my hands back and folding my arms.
"Oh really?" he said in that voice that spelt trouble, and before I could make a run for it, he bent and lifted me bridal style.
"Aiden!" Heat rushed to my face as I slapped his shoulder aware of the stares we were getting. "Put me down!"
"No, can't do."
He ignored my protests and threats, carrying me into the store while I buried my face in his chest, ready to die of embarrassment.
"Bring out your best," he told the saleslady as he set me down on the couch.
"No, I will pick them myself," I said quickly, already moving toward the display.
I could hear that demon chuckling behind me.
"I'll make him pay for this," I muttered under my breath.
"I think you'd look good in this," he said from behind me.
I shouldn't have turned knowing what kind of asshole he was, but I did.
He was holding up a thin black tong.
"Aiden," I warned, narrowing my eyes.
He stretched the fabric between his fingers. "I prefer you with nothing under, but the thought of slowly peeling this off you with my teeth or—"
I shot forward on my toes and clamped my hand over his mouth.
"Are you crazy?" I asked, eyes wide with horror as I glanced around at the people definitely listening.
How the hell does this bastard have no shame?
His eyes darkened with amusement as his tongue brushed against my palm.
My breath hitched, and I tried to pull back, but he caught my wrist, pressing kisses into my hand.
"I'll behave," he murmured against my skin.
You fucking Liar.
His eyes screamed,'I'll do worse!'
The next day...
Mom welcomed us at the door the moment we arrived.
She took one look at me, then at Aiden, and her smile widened as she wiggled her brows in the most shameless way.
"Mom," I whispered, turning red.
Aiden greeted her politely, bowing his head lower than needed, his voice too respectful. Mom had to force him up.
I had to bite the inside of my cheek to keep from laughing.
"Your dad is inside," she told me, then leaned toward Aiden. "Don't let him scare you."
We followed her in after the servants took the gifts from Aiden so that I could finally hold his hand.
Dad was in the living room, seated on the sofa with his legs crossed and a newspaper held up like he was deeply invested in whatever nonsense was printed on it. I know damn well he was pretending to be because he never read the newspaper.
Where the hell did he even get one?
"Dad," I called.
He took his time lowering the paper just enough to glance at me before giving a short hum in response, ignoring Aiden, then lifted it right back up.
Seriously?
I turned to Mom for help.
She didn't disappoint, snatching the newspaper right out of his hands.
"Don't pretend you weren't standing by the window watching them seconds ago with a stupid smile on your face," she said.
Dad scoffed. "As if."
Mom shot him a glare and pursed his lips.
Slowly, he got to his feet, his expression turning serious as his gaze finally settled on Aiden.
"Follow me."
Shit, it's finally happening.
Aiden's fingers tightened around mine, and we both glanced at each other before stepping forward.
"Not you," Dad said, turning to us. "Stay with your mother."
"But Dad—"
"Can he not convince me without you by his side?"
"I can," Aiden replied, meeting my dad's eyes.
Dad held his gaze for a second longer, then turned and started walking again.
Aiden leaned down to press a quick kiss to my lips.
"I'll be back," he whispered against my lips as he gently pulled his hand from mine while I kept holding onto his. Then he distracted me with another kiss and pulled his hand free.
I watched them head upstairs, my heart racing.
"Dad!" I called after them. "Don't scare him!"
"Come and sit down, Leah. They won't be down anytime soon," mom said.
"What do you think he wants to tell him?" I asked, dropping onto the couch beside her.
"I have no idea," she replied, leaning back into the couch.
"There's no way you don't. He tells you everything."
"Except this. He says it's a secret between him and his sons-in-law."
I groaned, kicking my feet as I leaned back with her.
"But," she said, reaching for my hand and squeezing it gently. "I do know that your man is in a hot seat."
"Why?"
