Chapter 41: Whispers In The Glass Office.

Chapter 41: Whispers In The Glass Office.
Jade's POV

“Hey, gurl…” I dragged the words lazily as I stepped into the office, my ID card swaying like it had its own rhythm.

“Jade!” Freda, my loudmouthed co-worker, yanked my arm and nearly threw me into my chair. “You are so late again. Do you enjoy risking your job every morning?”

I sighed, brushing a strand of hair from my face. “Yeah, uh… family issues,” I muttered, not even trying to sound convincing.

“Family issues, huh?” She folded her arms with that knowing smirk. “You need to understand this organization doesn’t give a damn about your family, your cat, or your mood swings. If you’re late, you’re late.”

“Yeah, I know, Freda.”

“No, you don’t,” she shot back. “And to make it worse, the director himself isn’t around today.”

I looked up at her. “Okay… and that’s supposed to be good news, right?”

She leaned closer, whispering like she was announcing the end of the world. “That means his fiancée is around.”

I blinked. “His what?”

“His fiancée, Jade. Her. Sasha. The arrogant little princess herself.”

“Ohhh.” I leaned back, exhaling through my teeth. “You mean that Sasha?”

“Who else? The same Sasha who walks around like the company’s air owes her loyalty. If she finds a single mistake in your file...baby girl...you’re finished.”

I smirked and stood. “Well, I think I need a coffee.”

“Jade, you’re not done with your report!”

I winked. “Relax, I’ll do it. Promise.”

Freda groaned. “You and your drama, I swear…”

I took the elevator to Eric’s floor, clutching my folder. My heartbeat thudded in my throat. The hallway smelled of luxury and lavender polish, and from the half-open door of his office,

I saw her...Sasha.
Sitting on Eric’s desk, legs crossed, painting her lips with a glossy pink that shimmered like venom.

I knocked.

She didn’t even glance up. “Save me the beat, please. Come in.”

I stepped inside. “Uh… Sasha…”

Her eyes lifted, slowly. Her stare could peel skin. “Yes?”

“Can we talk?”

“About what?” She closed her gloss cap, staring at me like I was dust on her designer shoe. “Go back to work, Jade. Unless you’re eager to get fired.”

I swallowed hard. “So you hate me now?”

“Please,” she rolled her eyes. “Can we not do this right now?”

“I just wanted to apologize.”

“Apologize?” she scoffed. “Oh, nah. I’m not interested.”

I hesitated, then took a few steps forward and reached for her hand. Her body stiffened, eyes narrowing dangerously.“Fine,” she muttered finally, pulling her hand back. “We’re good. Apology accepted.”

I smiled faintly, trying to ease the tension. “Then we can be friends again, right?”

She let out a dry, almost cruel laugh. “Friends? When you climb to the top, you can flock with the top.” She tilted her head, the gloss catching light. “Which means… you’re not in my class anymore.”

The words hit like a punch. “Really, Sasha?”

“Please leave. I’m done here.”

“Why are you doing this?”

“Because,” she said slowly, venom dripping from every syllable, “I don’t make friends with homewreckers.”

I froze.

“Oh…” My voice cracked. The air went heavy..thick enough to choke on.We kept arguing, voices cutting sharper than glass.“Sasha, I also forgave you two days after you fucked my boyfriend!”

She gasped slightly, then gave that fake smile. “Blame it on the alcohol, sweetheart.”

“Alcohol doesn’t make you forget your best friend,” I shot back.

She looked away. “It made me forget loyalty.”

“Well congratulations,” I snapped. “You’re good at it.”

“Save your drama, Jade. I’m not the reason you lost him.”

I stepped closer, my chest rising and falling faster. “You slept with him. You betrayed me, also. You both did.”

“And yet you’re still begging for my attention,” she fired back. “Pathetic.”

My lips trembled.

I laughed...cold, dry, a little insane. “Okay. Fine. It’s okay if you don’t want me around anymore. But I need one favor.”

She raised a brow. “Spill.”

“It’s about… Eros.”

Her entire posture shifted. Her chin lifted, eyes narrowing. “Okay?”

“Please,” I said softly, desperation wrapping around my words. “Don’t tell anyone that I have Eros... don't let anyone know he is with me...not even the director.”

She tilted her head, a cruel smile curling her lips. “Are you ashamed of him?”

“No, no,” I shook my head quickly. “You wouldn’t understand.”

“Oh, I think I do,” she whispered. “You always had a taste for trouble.”

“Please, Sasha.”

She laughed...a slow, poisonous sound. “Sorry, Jade. I’m not helping you.”

I straightened, meeting her gaze with a small smirk. “Then maybe you’d like to hear something about the man you call your boyfriend.”

Her expression froze. “What?”

I smiled....wicked, deliberate, slow. “Sit down,” I whispered. “You might need to hear this one.”

"Speak!!..." Before she could end her statement, I kissed her.

She paused, stared at me as she dragged me closer further... Kissing me non stop like her life depends on it..

I moaned as I held her neck and kept rolling my tongue down her throat, I pushed her to the table and moved closer, splitting her thighs while she grabbed my waist...

"Fuck!" I moaned and began fumbling her breast...she moaned and bit my lip as I found my way through her cloth opening, rolling her nipples gradually.

I took her nipples in my mouth and began sucking, while my hand played with the other..she held my hair and adjusted so I can get her thighs firmly gripped around me.

"I whispered, "So much for a tough girl." I quickly pushed her off."

She sighed. "Uh...what...what just happened."

I chuckled. "What does it seem like?"

She sat down and muttered "fuck fuck."

I smiled. "Don't be hard on yourself, Cupcake."

"Get out, Jade." She yelled.

"Fine fine." I adjusted my top as I walked to the door.

"Hold on." Her voice came sharp.

I turned slowly. "Okay?"

She stared at me and sighed. "You said I need to know something about my boyfriend."

I smiled.
This game is hitting the right places.
