Chapter 207 Do You Still Come Back Tonight?
After dinner, it was already past eight o'clock. Steven had installed three security cameras for them, and everyone was ready to call it a day.
Olivia chose to walk home.
Amelia left by the subway.
Steven drove Nora back to Riverside Apartment.
He was driving the same BMW from their first meeting.
It had just been modified this morning—the exterior was still the same BMW, but the interior had been completely replaced.
"You found this BMW?" Nora looked at him.
Steven nodded, "Yes, I'll leave the Audi at home for you to drive. From now on, I'll drive this one."
Steven had decided that whenever he came to see her, he would drive this BMW to avoid any accidents.
"I don't really need a car," Nora got into the passenger seat. "It's just one subway stop, very convenient."
"It's getting cold, you should drive to work. When it rains, or when you need to carry things, driving is more convenient." Steven didn't argue, just made the arrangement in a firm tone.
The meaning was clear—even if you don't drive it, I won't take it away. It'll just stay in the garage for when you need it.
"Whatever," Nora settled in.
The car started.
Steven didn't close the window.
Cold wind blew in from outside, making Nora's teeth chatter slightly.
Steven noticed, "Cold?"
"Of course I'm cold!" Nora hugged her slender body. "It's so cold out, don't you feel it?"
Steven rolled up the window, then reached out one hand to hold her icy hand.
"You're driving!" Nora reminded him.
Steven smiled, "I know, give me your hand."
Nora glanced at him and obediently placed her hand in his large palm.
Steven held it, "Your hand is so cold."
Then he tucked her hand into his coat pocket, "If you're cold, keep it in my pocket."
Nora didn't refuse.
She felt her heart flutter slightly. With her hand in his pocket, she didn't pull it out the whole way.
Just like that, they arrived at Riverside Apartment.
Steven stopped the car. "We're here, you can go up."
Nora was stunned for a moment, feeling a bit disappointed. "You're not coming up?"
"Do you want me to come up?" Steven's gaze suddenly became suggestive.
Nora said with a blushing face, "Riverside Apartment is your home. You can come back whenever you want. I won't stop you."
Those words were sweet music to Steven's ears.
His heart stirred as he looked at her gentle, sweet face. "Oh, right, I forgot to mention—the customs issue has been taken care of."
Her eyes lit up in disbelief, "Really? The package was delivered successfully?"
"Yes."
Nora was beyond surprised.
A problem she thought would be very difficult to solve—Steven had handled it just like that.
She didn't know what expression to show him. She just felt grateful and fond of him.
She leaned in slightly and kissed the corner of his lips, "Thank you."
Steven held her head and kissed her passionately.
Nora pressed against his chest, unable to handle the kiss, her body trembling slightly.
Steven's pupils contracted. Without waiting for her to speak, he kissed her more deeply.
The kiss was both dominating and tender. Nora was kissed dizzy—his kissing skills were getting better and better, kissing her until she was completely dazed...
After a long while, Steven finally let her go.
His eyes held a hint of restraint, "Alright, you go up first. I still have things to handle."
"Will you come back tonight?" Nora asked in a sweet voice, her face flushed.
Steven's lips curved slightly, "Want me to come back?"
"If you're coming back, I won't lock the door," Nora refused to admit she wanted him to come back.
Steven suggestively touched her chin, "If I come back, I'm going to devour you."
Nora's face turned very red.
Her head in a daze, she got out of Steven's car, and he drove the BMW off into the night.
Nora's heart started racing for him again.
Thinking he might come back tonight, she washed herself thoroughly and even put on the nightgown he had bought.
If Steven came back tonight, she wouldn't refuse—she'd make him happy and warm up their relationship...
She really did still want her husband, wanted someone to hold her while sleeping every night, wanted someone to comfort her when she was in a bad mood.
Someone who would always think of her, love her, and shield her from life's storms.
As Nora thought about it, she smiled, then felt she was too hopeless—bewitched by Steven, easily won over by a little coaxing, always thinking about him.
She shyly pulled up the covers and went to sleep.
And she really did fall asleep.
When she woke up, there was no one home.
Nora's heart inexplicably ached, her eyes full of disappointment.
But she had promised to make breakfast and bring it over today, so she rolled up her sleeves and walked into the kitchen with renewed energy.
She cut up some sausages, made honey-glazed chicken wings in the oven, and picked some vegetables from the balcony to stir-fry.
As she was busily cooking, the door opened.
Steven walked in carrying his laptop, his face full of exhaustion.
"Smells so good." He caught the aroma from the kitchen and stood at the door looking at her.
Nora froze.
She looked over.
Their gazes met in the air.
Steven looked tired. After her initial shock, Nora felt happy, and also worried.
"Steven, did you work all night?" Nora was surprised. So he didn't come back last night because he'd been working all night.
"Yes, worked until dawn. I'm so tired and hungry. Is there food? I need to eat and then sleep." Steven had worked all night, his stomach empty and very hungry.
"Yes! I just made oatmeal porridge. Go wash your face and come eat." With Steven back, Nora's mood brightened.
"Okay, I'll go wash my face." Steven headed to the bedroom.
Nora smiled as she brought out the dishes.
She lifted the lid off the porridge, and the aroma of oats filled the air.
She served Steven a bowl and placed it at his usual spot to cool, then put her hands behind her back and skipped happily to the master bedroom.
When she entered, she just happened to see Steven taking off his shirt—broad shoulders, solid chest, and eight-pack abs...
Nora's face suddenly turned red. She hurriedly started to leave, then felt it wasn't necessary.
She walked to the wardrobe, pretending to be calm as she took out loungewear, "Wear this?"
He'd need to change into loungewear before sleeping anyway.
Steven glanced at it and nodded, his eyes seemingly smiling, "Bring it over."
He took off his dress pants.
Nora's gaze couldn't help but drift downward.
But he was so tired right now, he probably wasn't in the mood for anything else, right?
She walked over and handed him the loungewear, awkwardly trying to make conversation. Standing by the bed, she complimented, "Nice body."
As the words left her mouth, Steven paused in his dressing, his eyes flying over to her.
Nora stood there blushing.
Her waist tightened as she was pulled into an embrace by Steven, who was wearing only underwear.
Her body pressed tightly against his chest.
She looked up.
Steven's light gray pupils gazed at her as he spoke suggestively, "I'm changing clothes, and you deliberately come in here to compliment my body—what does that mean?"
Nora felt uncomfortable under his gaze, her face flushed. "I was just making conversation."
"So you don't think I have a good body?"
Nora blinked, "That's not what I meant..."
"So you do think I have a good body?"
