Bonus Chapter 1: Two Weddings and A Proposal Part 1
Sarah’s P.O.V
I don’t know why Mirage and Freya kept giving me nervous looks, but I wasn’t the least bit nervous about my own wedding.
Honestly, I had thought I would be more than a little nervous. In fact, I had prepared myself to go all Bridezilla on my bridesmaids and probably be nit-picky about everything as well. But now that the day had finally arrived for the Mating Ceremony…I was oddly calm about everything.
And why shouldn’t I be? I was already mated to my would-be Alpha mate, Darcia and I could hear his feelings for me loud and clear inside my mind. He loved and treasured me just as much as I did him. I had a wonderful mate, a beautiful family and a wonderful life planned ahead of me amongst my friends and family.
Being the Luna had never been my priority, but it had been an added bonus that my mate had turned out to have Alpha blood and that made my parents, who had wanted to force me onto Cameron before he found his mate, immensely happy. What else could I even ask for?
“Is this the calm before the storm or are you actually feeling okay about everything right now?” Freya asked me skeptically.
To be honest, she had been the nit-picky on this time around. Going around the venue from time to time just to make sure that everything was in order and even checking on Cameron and the groom several times over to make sure they were all prepared; she had been an immense help in the preparations and I was extremely glad for that.
In fact, I was pretty sure that tomorrow night, Freya was going to be a major Bridezilla or we’ll be having a major panic attack to deal with. And I was okay with that too. Because Freya was my sister and I’d gladly tackle her demons if it made her feel better at her own wedding.
What I was a little bit worried about, however, was the fact that I was having my wedding before Freya.
So I took her hand in mine and pulled her closer to my chair. “I’m feeling perfectly fine.” I smiled up at her. “Are you okay though?”
“Why wouldn’t I be?” Freya gave me a surprised look. She was wearing a beautiful blue gown that reached the floor and had a halter neckline. She had kept her makeup very simple and was wearing only a pair of white pearl drop earrings and a pearl bracelet so as not to outshine the bride. But I did wish that she would’ve dressed up a bit more.
“Well…I was feeling a bit guilty about having my wedding before you and Cameron…” I admitted to her sheepishly, to which she just laughed.
“It’s not a competition, silly!” She flicked her finger on my nose lightly, startling me a bit. “It doesn’t matter who gets married first or who gets married later on. The only thing that matters is that we are moving onto the next phase of our life. We’re going to have big responsibilities to deal with from now onwards. No more just fun and games and just hanging out with friends. We’re all grown up now.”
“We are, aren’t we?” A wave of nostalgia hit me as I remembered the first time I helped Freya back in high school.
The frail little teen who had been a victim of vigorous bullying was long gone. She was now a powerful woman that many would think twice before trying to mess with. Even Derek, the boy who had once been one of her many tormentors, was now weary of Freya and her powers. It showed just how far she had come as a witch and as a person. And I couldn’t be more proud of her.
“May I come in ladies?” A knock sounded on the door followed by my father’s strong voice.
“Yes, of course.” Freya gave my hand a little squeeze before she went to open the door to let my father in.
Finally, I turned towards the mirror to have one final look at myself.
I had chosen a white mermaid style dress with a long veil instead of a train. The dress was embroidered all over with lace sleeves and an open back. It also had the beading down the back that were the buttons leading all the way down to the floor. The floral embroidery also involved several real pearls, but nothing sparkly. I had opted out of diamonds or Swarovski crystals since I was never a big fan of all the sparkles. I had been a little worried that my mom wouldn’t approve of the dress, but when she had seen me try it on for the first time, she had been in tears. That’s how I knew that this was the dress.
Now, with the natural makeup and the smoky eyes and nude lipstick, everything just seemed to come together perfectly. Like it was meant to be.
For the something old and borrowed, my mother had given me her vintage pearl necklace that acted like a choker and went perfectly with the dress. And for something blue, Freya had gifted me a tiara to go over my veil that had all white pearls but with one single sapphire in the middle that stood out beautifully to match my eyes.
Now, I saw my father wipe away tears from the corners of his eyes as he came over to press a kiss to my forehead. “You look absolutely stunning. Just like your mother did.”
“Thank you.” I mouthed to him before looking at my bridesmaids. Freya, who was my maid of honor and of course, Mirage, who too had tears in her eyes from looking at me interacting with my father.
