Chapter 154: It’s all Connected Part 2

Chapter 154: It’s all Connected Part 2
Krimson’s P.O.V

I punched in Luca's number, my heart pounding as the phone rang.

Harmona’s last words rang in my ears over and over again, words she had uttered on her dying breath.

‘If justice exists in this world…then we will meet again, Itlan. The Moon Goddess will help me find my way back to you…’

The call connected, and Luca's voice crackled through the line, drawing me out of my swirling thoughts.

"Alpha? Is everything alright?"

Luca’s voice was laced with concern and I realized that he was worried about the fact that I had called him instead of using the mental link to contact, but at that moment, I didn’t care anymore.

"Luca, I've found something," I blurted out, my words rushing in a jumble. "Something that I hadn't been anticipating at all. Do you remember what I told you about me turning back into a human from a rogue wolf? How it had been an impossible occurrence since I had been a rogue for five years?"

"Yeah, of course," Luca replied, curiosity lacing his tone. "Did you uncover something?"

"It's... it's big, Luca." I paused, trying to steady my breath. "I think my transformation…it wasn't a coincidence at all. It’s all connected to Lilac and Harmona."

Silence crackled over the line for a moment, and I could almost feel Luca's surprise seeping through the phone. "Wait, Krimson? What are you talking about? How can your transformation back into humanity be related to your mates?”

"I don’t know what compelled me to do this but I just got the idea to check the dates, the dates when Lilac was born, when Harmona died and the time when I turned back." I explained, my voice tinged with a mix of awe and disbelief. "They all happen in the same month, Luca. It’s all connected."

There was a weighty pause before Luca responded, his voice filled with a mix of shock and contemplation. "So, you're saying that your transformation might not have been a random occurrence? That…it could be Lilac’s birth that had turned you back into your human form?"

"Yeah, exactly," I confirmed, the gravity of it all sinking deeper. "It's like... like we are all bound together by some prophesy…like the Moon Goddess connected my life to Lilac’s...and Harmona."

Luca's sharp intake of breath echoed through the phone. "That's... that's unreal, Krimson. I mean, if that is true then it would mean Lilac…”

“…might not be just my second chance mate but Harmona’s reincarnation…”

I finished the sentence, the silence echoing with the weight of the revelation.

I remembered Harmona's final moments, moments where I thought I was going to die, moments where I felt a part of me slipping away, parts that I knew that I could never recover from. They flashed before my eyes like it had only been yesterday.

And then Harmona’s and Lilac’s formed morphed into one right before my eyes.

"Krimson, whatever this means, whatever role you're supposed to play, be careful of the threats around you.” Luca’s voice snapped me out of the past, reminding me of my duties towards Lilac. “Be careful and keep your eyes open.”

I nodded, even though he couldn't see me. "Thanks, Luca. I couldn't ask for a better brother." The weight of this newfound knowledge settled on my shoulders, a mix of uncertainty and determination coursing through me.

After disconnecting the call, I couldn’t help but notice the traits that I had failed to notice all this time.

I remember the first time I saw Harmona's lifeless violet eyes—the striking hue that seemed to hold the weight of the world within them. It was a moment etched into my memory, a poignant snapshot of a soulful gaze that spoke volumes without uttering a single word. And then came Lilac, her little sister, born from the same father. The moment I laid eyes on Lilac, it was as if time had folded in on itself. Those eyes, those unmistakable violet eyes, mirrored Harmona's with such precision that it was uncanny. The resemblance between the two sisters, despite the vast age difference, struck a chord deep within me, a chord that hummed with unanswered questions and a sense of profound connection.

At first, I couldn't fathom the inexplicable resemblance. How could Lilac, born years after Harmona's departure, possess such a striking similarity? It defied logic, yet the more I observed Lilac, the more it made a strange kind of sense. There was something beyond mere genetics at play here, something ethereal and ineffable, weaving a tapestry of shared essence between these two souls separated by time.

It wasn't just the physical features that echoed Harmona's presence in Lilac; it was the way she carried herself, the subtle gestures, the moments of quiet contemplation that mirrored her aunt. It was almost as if Harmona's essence had found a way to transcend time, imprinting itself on Lilac's very being.

Understanding dawned on me gradually, like the soft glow of sunrise illuminating the horizon. It was as if Harmona's spirit had found solace in Lilac, leaving behind fragments of herself, imbuing Lilac with her essence. The uncanny resemblance between them was no mere coincidence; it was a testament to the profound ties that bind us, transcending the boundaries of time and space.

But with this burgeoning belief came an unsettling disquiet. Even if Lilac bore Harmona's soul, could she truly be the same person?

My heart wrestled with conflicting emotions. The desire for Harmona's return clashed with the realization that Lilac, as much as she might embody Harmona's essence, was an individual with her own experiences, her own journey through life. To reduce her to a mere vessel for my longing would be an injustice to her identity, an erasure of her autonomy.

Perhaps the truth lay in embracing the enigma, in acknowledging that while Lilac might carry traces of Harmona, she was an individual, unique and irreplaceable in her own right. Maybe, just maybe, it wasn't about discerning if Lilac was Harmona returned, but rather about cherishing the profound connection and love that bound us, transcending the boundaries of time and form.
