Chapter 63 63

Chapter 63 63
Draven's POV
But as I looked closer at Draven, I noticed something was terribly wrong. Something wet and crimson stained his hand, and horror struck me as I realised that he was bleeding profusely from every side of his skin.
My scream of terror ripped through the air, echoing off the bathroom walls. I finally flipped my eyes open, screaming in fright as I took in my surroundings. It was nighttime, and I was back in Draven's room.
I never left; it was all just a cruel nightmare. "Hazel." I heard Draven call and approach me. In a panic, I backed away from him, my heart pounding in my chest.
What if this was still a nightmare and he turned into a blob of blood just like the girl? or begin to bleed from all sides, like in the bathtub? "No, no! Stay away!" I shrieked, my voice filled with terror and disbelief.
Draven, his face etched with concern and confusion, stepped towards me, his hands outstretched. "Hazel, it's me, Draven! You're safe now," he pleaded, his voice filled with urgency.
But my fear overwhelmed me, clouding my judgement and sensibility. I continued to sob and shake; my mind felt lost in a haze of nightmares and reality. Draven, undeterred by my fear, approached me slowly, his voice gentle and soothing.
"Hazel, please, it's me. You're home. You're safe; that was just a nightmare, okay?" he repeated, his voice reassuring. Reluctantly, I allowed him to come closer; his arms enveloped me in a comforting embrace.
I cried into his shoulder, my body racked with sobs as the weight of the nightmare slowly lifted. His presence made me feel better again, his scent calming me, while the sound of his heartbeat urged me to believe that this was no longer a nightmare but reality. I'm safe.
As the tears subsided, I clung to Draven, my breathing gradually returning to a steady rhythm. The fear and panic began to fade, replaced by a deep sense of gratitude and relief. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," I whispered between shaky breaths, my voice laced with remorse.
Draven held me tighter, his voice filled with reassurance. "Shhh. It's okay, Hazel. It was just a nightmare. I'm here, and I'll always be here to protect you," he whispered, his words like a soothing balm to my wounded soul.
Slowly, I allowed myself to be lulled back to sleep by his heartbeat in hopes of not being plagued by a nightmare once more.
Draven's POV
I gently stroked Hazel's hair as she slowly succumbed to sleep once again, her breathing growing steady and calm. It felt like the weight of the world was settled heavily on my shoulders as I watched over her.
I am beginning to care so much about her after seeing her suffer both physically and psychologically due to her pregnancy.
There was an inevitable war coming with the blood moon pack, and as the Alpha, it is my responsibility to protect my pack and ensure their safety. But I couldn't ignore the plight of Hazel.
The physician was right; she needs my support now more than ever. I knew I couldn't face the challenges ahead without a clear mind and the best advice. That's when Jason came to mind.
Closing my eyes, I focused on my thoughts, contemplating the best course of action. Just as I was about to link with Jason, a familiar scent wafted through the air from outside our room.
I recognised it immediately—it was Jason's scent. My senses heightened, and I strained to listen. Sure enough, Jason's voice carried through the closed door.
"Is the Alpha already asleep? That can't be possible, though he sleeps late, so please let me through." He was speaking with the guards stationed outside, inquiring if I had already fallen asleep.
"I am sorry, Jason, but we cannot let you through, and you know that. Please do not make this hard on us and just return home and freshen up; you can see the alpha  tomorrow.”
An argument ensued, and it became apparent that they were hesitant to let him in. With a sigh, I realised it was time for me to intervene. I carefully disentangled myself from Hazel's sleeping form and moved towards the door.
Opening it slightly, I peered out to see Jason, his face bloodied and bruised. It was evident that he had just escaped the Blood Moon Pack and immediately came over here to see me.
"Let him in," I commanded firmly, my voice carrying an edge of authority. The guards exchanged glances before stepping aside, allowing Jason to enter. I quickly closed the door behind him, shutting out his prying eyes and ears.
I was so relieved Jason was back. I gave him a very tight hug, showing that I had missed him so much and was happy he had returned. Jason looked exhausted, his body battered from the ordeal he had endured.
He met my gaze, a mixture of relief and wonder shining in his eyes. "Draven, we can't wait any longer. The Blood Moon Pack is growing stronger, and their aggression knows no bounds. We need to strike back," he immediately stated, his voice filled with urgency.
"Shh..." I hushed him, pointing towards Hazel, and he immediately got my point. Jason's concerned gaze lingered on Hazel's pale and tear-stained face.
He couldn't help but inquire, "Draven, what exactly is going on with Hazel? She seems...different, and I can see the toll it's taking on her." I took a deep breath, my mind racing with the weight of the revelation I was about to share.
"Jason, the baby in Hazel's womb is no ordinary child." I began cautiously, my voice filled with a mixture of trepidation and fear.
"But I'll explain everything to you in detail tomorrow."Right now, you need to freshen up and get yourself tired. We'll discuss it first thing in the morning."
Jason nodded, understanding the urgency in my voice. "Alright, Draven. I'll go take care of myself for now. We will meet in the meeting room tomorrow morning," he replied, his eyes reflecting unwavering loyalty.
After exchanging a brief nod, Jason left the room, leaving me alone with my thoughts. I closed the door behind him, shutting out the world for a moment.
I went back to Hazel, who lay still in bed, and got in right next to her, tucking her in with the blanket. I wrapped my arms around her waist under the sheets and fell into a deep slumber.

The next morning...
I awoke before Hazel and immediately approached the bathroom, the warm water cascading over my weary body. As I washed away the grime from the day's events, my mind raced with possibilities and potential solutions.
The safety of my pack and the well-being of Hazel were at the forefront of my thoughts. Once I finished refreshing myself, I dried myself and got dressed, ready to go off and see Jason, who was most likely awaiting me in the meeting room.
A few moments later, I was already out the door and began walking down the hall, headed for the meeting room where I would find Jason. He looked up as I entered, his expression filled with curiosity.
I went to the head table and took my seat, with him sitting opposite me. I had to admit that it was good having him there once more, in his rightful position.
"Now that I'm here, Draven, tell me everything. What is happening to Hazel? Why has she become so pale?" He inquired, his voice filled with anticipation. I took a deep breath, gathering my thoughts.
"Jason, the truth is that Hazel carries a strange child. The child demands more energy than any werewolf could provide.”
“The child is really strong and powerful, and according to the physician, Hazel's body and the child are currently battling for survival despite the multivitamins and energy boosters Hazel has to consume on a daily basis," I explained, my voice carrying a weight of both sadness and apprehension.
Jason's eyes widened in astonishment, his gaze unwavering as he absorbed my words. "So what exactly is the plan now? How much do we know about this pup?" He asked
I took a moment to collect my thoughts. "From all the information gathered, that pup possesses extraordinary abilities, Jason. It's a delicate situation, and Hazel's body is struggling to cope with the immense energy flowing through her," I revealed.
Jason leaned back in his chair, his brow furrowed with a mixture of disbelief and confusion. "So, that's why she's been suffering. And now, Hazel seems to be unable to control the energy coursing through her.”
“The child must be trying to gain even more and more power as it grows, and its instinctive thirst for power to grow must be the main reason it's taking a toll on her physical and emotional well-being," he murmured to himself more than me, his voice filled with empathy.
"What prophecy?" I asked.
