Chapter 41 41

Chapter 41 41
Third Person POV
Hazel sat in her bed, seeing the tension rise between both of them. She had expected Alpha Draven to be his usual insensitive self towards Adrian, but what she hadn't expected was Adrian challenging his uncle to a fight.
The problem was, she knew just how strong Draven was; he was insanely powerful even amongst Alpha's, and now Adrian was going to challenge him.
Before she could think any further, she saw Adrian jump towards his uncle, slashing him across the chest. She was scared beyond a doubt; she knew Adrian could lose his life, but what bothered her the most was his reason for fighting.
Why was he trying too hard to win her over? She felt that Adrian truly didn't care or love her anymore, hence her abandonment. But would he risk his life for someone he didn't love?
The question bugged my mind as Alpha Draven slowly stood up, the wound on his chest closing, the blood stopped flowing down, a wicked smile covered his face, she felt her heart drop, something was wrong.
She was about to say something to Draven, but he moved so fast she couldn't even trace him. The next thing she heard was a loud bang against the wall, the sound of flesh being smacked on a flat surface.
Her eyes turned around as she saw Draven pinning Adrian to the wall with a single hand. "Stop..." She murmured under her breath; her voice was low, barely audible to herself.
She was too much in shock to do and think right; her finders slowly found their way to her lips, covering them; she saw Adrian smash his leg into Draven's jaw.
She felt slightly relieved that he could protect himself, but her hopes were instantly crushed when Alpha Draven threw Adrian out of the window. She panicked, coming down from her bed.
"Alpha Draven, you need to stop now; I'm sure he has learnt his lesson," she said calmly, hoping he would at least listen to her and calm down, but he didn't respond to her; he looked like he didn't even hear her.
"Alpha Draven?" She asked, hoping he was just being his usual calm self. She walked to his side and looked at his face. She jumped back immediately in horror.
His eyes were bloodshot red, with fangs growing from his teeth, and saliva drolled from his mouth as he began changing into his wolf. She looked towards the window; it was getting already bright enough that everyone could see, and he was changing.
She back away even further in horror; she knew just how dangerous he could be firsthand. Suddenly, she remembered the words of Sara, telling them that the ritual was never completed because she had passed out halfway through.
Before she could think about doing anything else, Draven jumped out of the broken window. She ran towards the window and polled down. Right before her, she saw two wolves, similar in fur and build, but one was bigger than the other with not much difference.
"Adrian, Run!" Hazel screamed with everything in her; her throat grew sore almost immediately, but Adrian was just as stubborn as his uncle; he wouldn't listen just because she said it was dangerous.
She turned back in a hurry; she didn't want to see them fight; she already knew the outcome; Draven was being affected by a curse right now, and he was much more powerful than any wolf she had ever known.
She flew down the stairs in a hurry, "Noah!" She screamed. She ran past shocked maids and other wolves as she raced around; she wasn't even sure where she was headed.
She desperately wished this was one of those times where Noah would randomly appear. "You called Luna?" Noah stood behind her, his head bowed slightly.
She had never been happier to see him in her life; she took him by the wrist and dragged him. Noah, who seemed very confused at the gesture, did nothing but follow her.
"Where have you been?" Hazel demanded, her chest heaving up and down, and she ran in anxiety; she hoped Adrian wasn't dead for her sake.
"What seems to be the matter, Luna?" Noah asked in confusion. Hazel said nothing and kept dragging him into her room. She wasn't sure how to explain the situation, so she preferred to show it to him.
She pointed at the window, "There." Noah hurried towards the window; his jaw slacked in shock almost immediately; he couldn't believe what he was seeing—a one-sided beating between uncle and nephew.
Even worse during the day  when members of the pack could see. "Noah, you have to save Adrian, please," Hazel pleaded. "His curse hasn't completely broken. If we leave them alone, Adrian isn't going to make it," she finished.
"Noah, I don't know your past or what kind of wolf you are," she said as tears filled her eyes. "But I know Alpha Draven wouldn't keep you by his side if you weren't capable of stopping him," she said.
Noah looked back at the scene before him, then back at Hazel. "Luna, whatever you see from here on out, I implore you to keep things to yourself," he said to her with a cold tone, then he took off his tie and threw it away, unfolding the sleeves of his shirt.
Under those sleeves, Hazel could see intricate tattoos covering them in a beautiful yet symbolic manner; she had never seen anything like it. Before she could say anything else, Noah looked at her once more and said
"Call Sara"
But she didn't because she ran to the window just in time to see Noah cover himself with a thick mass of darkness, like a cloud of thick smoke that couldn't be seen through had covered his entire body.
From the smoke emerged a wolf as black as night. No, even blacker, she thought. She couldn't move from where she was; she was scared; she wondered what would happen if both Noah and Adrian couldn't stop Draven.
Noah landed in between both of them; she looked at Adrian and saw that he wasn't moving; he just lay there on the ground; she wasn't even sure if he was breathing.
At the feet of Noah, where he had landed, it looked like shadows danced along his feet, making the forest where they stood look more ominous.
Alpha Draven Wolf stepped back a bit from both Noah and Adrian, and the shadows began taking shape to form random objects. Draven Wolf swung at the thicket of shadows, but nothing changed about them.
He moved back even further, trying to understand the things he saw that weren't human or loving at all but moved like they were. All the while Noah's black eyes watched Draven while he shielded Adrian.
Hazel understood that he was just buying time, but she knew it wouldn't last for long. After Draven swapped at the shadows and realised that he couldn't attack them, he ignored them and turned his attention back to Adrian and Noah.
He growled angrily looking at the both of them. Hazel was tempted to jump down and help, but she knew she would be completely useless in a confrontation such as this.
It hurt her even more as she realised that the reason these two men began fighting was because of her. She watched Adrian laying there, completely still; she couldn't even see the heaving of his chest.
Then Draven attacked Noah; he jumped at him with fangs out, but Noah simply melted into the shadows. He moved around in a whirl of blackness, avoiding the spots where light pierced through the canopy of trees above them.
Draven began turning his attention back to Adrian, but Noah appeared behind him and slashed the side of Draven, drawing blood with a single stroke.
Draven yelped in pain as blood dripped down from his side; now Noah fully had his attention. Draven rushed at Noah, slashing and biting with such beastiality; everything he did seemed feral and inhumane, like an actual wolf would.
But Noah kept dodging, fading away at the last minute, dodging his attacks and slashing back, leaving numerous cuts and wounds on Draven's body, but the injuries soon healed themselves.
Hazel watched, and she couldn't think of a way both Noah and Adrian would escape; she knew that once Draven turned like this, it took a lot of time before he turned back to his original self, while she was lost in thought, from the corner of her eye.
She saw a red wolf run into her room, rushing past her with incredible speeds. The wolf jumped from her window, as though completely ignoring the fight happening between Draven and Noah.
The wolf landed softly just in front of Draven and Noah. "That's dangerous, run..." Before Hazel could complete her statement, the red wolf vanished from her sight, like she had never been there.
Then the wolf appeared just beside Adrian's body; it casually licked at Adrian's face and then placed its paw on his body. The red wolf and Adrian, vanished immediately.
