Chapter 62 Why should I leave?

Chapter 62 Why should I leave?
AXEL'S POV
For the next few minutes, no one spoke, only watching Thallyne, waiting for her to make her decision. “Thallyne, what do you want?” I couldn't help but ask. One part of me wanted her to decisively choose to stay with me, despite being her Alpha first, I didn't want to have to force her to stay with me.
It wasn't just me who was feeling conflicted at this moment, my wolf was oddly quiet but I could also sense that he was waiting for her response too.
But she only stared at the ground, as if they were the next best thing, lost in her thoughts.
“Thallyne,” Luther called out to her again, this time she gave a hum as response, slowly raising her head, her eyes were red with unshed tears as they met mine.
My heart dropped as I got a premonition.
She is going to leave.
My heart tightened up, it was as if the rest of the people in the room disappeared, leaving just the both of us in the room. Then I hardened my heart. “You can't leave, that is a command.”
She is definitely going to hate me for this but if this would keep her by my side, it's a risk I'm gonna take.
The expression on Luther and Lucas' face dropped, then Luther's face hardened. “What do you mean by that?! Are you going to force her to stay against her will!” He yelled.
My expression turned to that of indifference as I casted a glance at Jake, who immediately picked up my meaning. He simply walked towards Luther. “You have to leave-”
“Why?! Why should I leave?”
“Cause I am trying to save your life.” Jake responded nonchalantly. “So before you speak to my Alpha, you better consider your words or believe me when I say, the next person that would be bedridden would be you.”
“He wouldn't-” He immediately glanced at Lucas who was still leaning against a pillar, watching all this happen from an outsider's point of view. “He can't do that, right?”
“Yes he can, no one would tolerate any disrespect and especially not from someone ranked lower than them. I have tried to save you once, I won't do this again, instead I would offer your head to him instead.” After saying his bit, he simply walked towards Thallyne, his eyes softened as he stood before her. “Miss Thallyne, what do you have to say?”
“I don't know -” She glanced at me and then at Luther who had taken the advice and chosen to stay quiet.
When I recalled how his reaction was when they had seen Drary, my mouth curved up to a grin.
As soon as the door opened, and the person on the bed came to view, Luther stumbled backwards, even Lucas who always had an indifferent expression around me was shocked.
The person on the bed could barely be called a human anymore, he had blood seeping through his broken skin into the bed, and his forehead furrowed with pain.
Because this command from me was meant to be a punishment from me, his self healing couldn't kick in. He could only be subjected to healing slowly like a mortal unless the pack healer is called in but unfortunately- she was an eccentric one, she shows up and leaves whenever she pleases.
“What happened to him?” Lucas asked in a low voice.
“It's his punishment.” I grinned at him, something that must have seemed scary at that moment because Luther paled.
“What type of punishment, not many can inflict such injuries in such a short while?”
“He was stuck in his half shift state for an extended period of time until the boss decided that he had been punished enough.” Jake answered on my behalf.
The fear that Luther had towards me suddenly increased, and he began to avoid my gaze. “Can you heal him?” I didn't bother with formalities or even trying to justify my actions, going straight to the point.
“Yes.”
“Alpha Axel, is it possible if I invite Miss Thallyne to my pack to at least access how my pack is being run.” Lucas suddenly spoke up.
“Are you trying to force me to revoke my command? I don't think you are prepared for the consequences,” With my eyes fixed on him, I spoke to Jake. “Jake, what do you think about claiming another pack… my wolf needs to let loose.
“Is this a threat?” His aura was increasing, threatening to pressure me but it felt as if a bug had rested on my shoulder. It seemed as if it had the upper hand but it didn't realize that I could swat it to death.
“Excuse me, did I phrase my words wrongly,” I strolled to one of the sofas, slowly sat down, with my aura dominating the room. “Of course, this is a threat. The last person that tried to take her from me is still laying in bed and trust me, his experience isn't what you want.”
His eyes widened in realization, he looked from Thallyne to me and back to her. “Are you his chosen mate Thallyne?”
Thallyne sent a glare to my direction, one that I responded to with a smirk. “Tell him Pink, tell him about how you promised yourself to me.” I patted my legs, silently indicating what I wanted.
Thallyne didn't say anything, only shook her head and walked over. She tried to sit on the spot next to me but I immediately pulled her into my arms. “Can you see why I can't let her out of my sight for too long?”
The two men looked slightly disappointed, it was at this moment that Thallyne opened her mouth to speak. “It's not that I didn't want to tell you, I wanted to get his permission first.”
“Pink,” I whispered into her ear, taking a chance to gently nibble on it. “That only includes pack members, not outsiders.”
“That doesn't change the fact that I still want to take her away from here?” Luther spoke, but his voice was lower than the previous times.
“Are you going to challenge me?” Thallyne placed one of her hands on my chest, sliding it up and down in an attempt to calm my tensed nerves.
“She was poisoned and mistreated in your pack and now she was almost assaulted. I don't want her to remain here any longer.”
“Lucas, that would be decided by me. If not for what happened, do you think I'll even consider leaving-” It was Thallyne turn to be pissed off but I didn't miss the hidden message in her words.
“Are you planning on leaving?” I asked her.
“I have to go, Luther was the one who saved me while Lucas found me. They are the reason why I'm still standing before you.” She held my face with both her hands, the distance between our faces was barely two inches.
She was staring at me with her eyes, pleading to me silently but I couldn’t resist the temptation. I crushed my mouth over hers, her arms instantly wrapped around my neck. I swiped my tongue across the seam of her lips and she immediately opened for me. I groaned and held her tighter with my hands on her back, as my tongue pushed in and tangled with hers.
After a minute, I tore myself away and stepped back, keeping her at arm’s length, and ignoring the fact that we had visitors in the room. “The only reason I'm considering this is cause I want you to get your wolf back and if he-” I threw a glance at Luther. “-is the only way to get her back, I can let you go but you must be back in nothing more than a week or I would come for you and that would be an incredible sight” My words were meant for Lucas and Luther just in case they were having any hidden agenda..
“Thank you so much,” She kissed both sides of my cheeks before getting up. “I would be heading up to get more rest. Can we go tomorrow?”
“That is fine by us.” Lucas responded.
“Are you sure that I can leave you guys alone?”
We all nodded simultaneously.
“Jake, keep an eye out. If Axel does anything, let me know so I can make him sleep somewhere else tonight.” She giggled at her words but didn't wait for Jake's response before leaving.
As soon as she climbed the stairs and was out of sight, the cordiality disappeared. I stood up, walking towards the stairs“The only reason I am considering this is cause this is what she wants after everything that happened. But if any harm comes to her, I won't be able to control the damage I'll bring to your pack. I hope we are all on the same page here?” I tilted my head to look at them, the pressure of my aura was released to about half.
