Chapter 23 Charming Bad Boy
Chapter 23 Charming Bad Boy
We hadn't spoken for three hours after the crazy things we'd done together ended. After realizing how crazy we'd been, Leo and I decided not to talk about it. At least not for the time being.
I sighed as I stood in front of the mirror of a designer clothing store that cost as much as two movie shoots. I shuddered every time I remembered how much this short dress had cost.
Leo simply walked into the fitting room and stood in front of me, flashing his signature mischievous smile. I blushed, and for a moment I didn't want to look at his face.
"You look so sexy," Leo whispered. I had already guessed that was the compliment he would say when he saw me in this new mini dress.
"Where are we going that I have to wear something like this? Didn't you say you were being targeted by a group of hitmen or gangsters?"
"I'm taking you somewhere, I want you to see how I work so I can get everything I have now!" he whispered softly, then planted a sweet kiss on my cheeck.
"So you were lying when you said you didn't have enough money to even pay for a bowl of ramen?"
"Haha... I was just pretending. I was just wondering if there were any nice girls willing to help a lost and troubled foreigner? It turns out there are still nice girls, haha..."
Leo laughed heartily, trying to pretend that I still didn't know anything about what he was really doing and what deal he had made with Mr. Alex.
I was stunned, choosing not to ask and letting Leo take me wherever he was going. A luxury limousine was parked in front of the shop, where three tall, burly bodyguards were already standing, all with fierce expressions on their faces.
Leo opened the door for me to enter first, and seeing my innocent face made him smile.
The glittering streets of Las Vegas dazzled me. I had lived in this Tokyo-sized city for three months, working at a local bar after graduating from high school, but the frequent verbal harassment from the male customers forced me to quit and return to Kyoto.
The limousine we were carrying stopped in the parking lot of a magnificent casino, leaving me in awe. Leo once again took my hand so we could walk together, while the bodyguards continued to escort us.
As we passed the crowd of people trying their luck at the gambling tables, the people who had been intently watching the game immediately turned their attention to Leo.
"Leo? You're finally here! I've been waiting for you for a long time. When can you play and win me a million dollars, buddy?" A man in a tuxedo embraced Leo warmly. Not only him, but almost everyone in the place greeted him as if he were an important and highly anticipated guest.
"Excuse me, Mr. Hendrick. But I came here for Mr. Stephenson; he requested me two months ago," Leo said casually. Beside him, I stood rooted to the spot, unsure of what to do but stare at Leo, who looked so different from the way I'd seen him in Kyoto.
My thoughts kept flashing back to memories of Leo cooking breakfast and even washing dishes in the kitchen. It turned out he was no ordinary man, and he probably could afford anything he wanted.
"By the way, who is this beautiful lady with you, Leo? Is she your new date?" Mr. Hendrick asked, glancing at me, who was standing next to Leo.
Leo gently put his arm around my shoulder, as if to signal to everyone present that I was more than just a date to him.
"She's my date for tonight," Leo said casually. His answer was completely unexpected. A date was clearly not something special for Galileo Morrone, a Las Vegas star.
For some reason, I felt a little disappointed, even though I wasn't Leo's girlfriend or wife. However, I was a little hopeful that maybe Leo could introduce me as someone a little more special than just a date.
Leo asked me to sit next to him while he sat at the table where he had to win tonight. Several beautiful women began creeping up on him like reptiles, trying to sell their charms.
Leo sat casually in his chair, smoking his favorite cigarette. His serious face and piercing gaze made it impossible for me to stop staring. I felt my heart pounding, like a horse being forced to run on a racetrack.
My face felt hot; Leo looked so cool and sexy in my eyes. But what made me even more anxious was the way Leo's mischievous eyes occasionally glanced at me, just to make sure I stayed where I was.
"Stupid Leo! You're so annoying. How long are you going to keep me so hot? You idiot!" I kept cursing in my mind that Leo's actions were constantly making me nervous and awkward.
The image after image of the hot scenes we had been having since last night made me feel like blood was going to flow out of my nose.
"Hana? Honey, are you okay?"
"Y-yes, honey? I-"
I gasped in shock as I realized I'd just said something stupid. Honey? How could I call Leo by such an affectionate name?
Leo smiled and immediately kissed me on the lips. I hadn't realized that Leo was already kneeling before me like a charming knight.
"Let's go!"
"T-the game?"
"It's over. Well, as usual, no one has ever been able to defeat your Leo."
