Chapter 58

Jasmine's POV

There were no other stories related to the crown, but I didn't put the book back to its place and gave it to Dimitri to keep it safe. It was almost noon when I went back down, but nobody else came. All of them decided to not work with me, but that was okay. It meant that I'd have to work more. After the delicious lunch with Dimitri in the garden I asked Ajax to take me to Aaron's house. During our talk I got to know his grandfather's name, which was Atlas.

"Good afternoon! I hope I'm not disturbing you. I have something to talk to you about."

"Vasílissa mou! Come in and we can talk about everything."

"Thank you. I need your help to find eleven more suitable people for the council. Nobody else from the candidates came."

"Of course. Like I said yesterday I'll help you with everything I can. I reached out to my friends and I'm waiting for the replies. I'm positive that within a week you'll have a new council."

"It means a lot to me and please call me Jasmine or Aryana. Where can I find Aaron?"

"He's in his room. I'll call him."

"Ajax, please gather all the current council members. We're going shopping. Bring along Hector too or it'd be too suspicious."

Five minutes later everyone was outside. I came out of the house with Aaron and said goodbye to his grandfather. He was a sweet man and I was glad I got to know him. He didn't even know me, but he helped me with all his might. I didn't know the cause of this devotion and I didn't want to pry.

"Hello everyone! As we'll be working together we should drop the formalities. Please call me Jasmine or Aryana. I want to keep the atmosphere between us friendly and friends don't use titles. Together we'll go to Earth and we'll go shopping. The Alpha or the Luna Regina pack and my mate Axel is giving you financial help until it'll be paid back in the form of rubies. However, there's still a limit on how much we can spend. In order to change the realm, that change needs to begin with the council. As for now, we'll have to stick together. You cannot leave the pack territory, because other packs and supernatural races still do not trust the demons. If you see something that you like and the budget is enough for that item we'll buy it. Before we leave I want to have a few words with Hector in private."

"Yes Aryana?"

"Aaron will be your student from now on. During the day he won't leave your side so he can learn from you. He has no previous experience and that's why I need you to guide and teach him."

"I'll do it Aryana, but for the whole day? Isn't this too much? What if there's a family emergency? You can't expect me to let him look into my private life."

"I'm not talking about your private life. Working hours start at sunrise and end at sunset. During this period he'll be with you. Nobody will be slacking off."

"Fine, as you wish."

He was unhappy, but agreed. I was feeling guilty about the fact that I hadn’t spent time with Ro, the twins and my parents. No matter what, tomorrow we’ll make a girl’s day either on Earth or in the realm. We reached the pack house and borrowed a car so we could go into town. The most important things were clothes then everything else. All the demons were looking around in awe, getting accustomed to the unfamiliar things. When we reached the mall we went inside and started to look around. We left out all the big designer brands, because of the budget we had. It was more than enough, but they needed a lot of things. I was surprised that Hector agreed to buy the cheaper clothes, but I guessed that he didn’t talk about expensive brands with Barbie. Shopping with men was a piece of cake and we finished relatively early.

I stayed back so I could make the permanent invitations, but hated the fact that my blood was needed. Why was everything connected with my blood? I switched on my laptop and opened a new document. Ares didn’t say anything about how the invitation should look like. I counted the number of people and I was done within fifteen minutes. After I printed the sheets out I pierced my finger and a drop of blood was on every invitation. Now I just needed to hunt down everyone and take their blood too. Axel mindlinked everyone and they came to the living room, that was quick.

“These are the permanent invitations to the demon realm. Now all I need is a drop of everyone’s blood and we’re done. We’re planning to take down the traitor so the security is a bit tight, but don’t worry. I know that we haven’t talked lately, but there are so many things going on. No matter what, tomorrow we’ll have a girl’s day either here or in the realm. What do you say?”

“We know that you have to run around and take care of everything, but it was time that you realized that you were neglecting us Jas.” - Ro said, sounding a bit offended.

“Let’s go to your kingdom. We know everything around here and we were there only once.” - said Amy and everyone else nodded.

“That’s decided then. Tomorrow we’ll spend the day together.”

After we were done I left and went back to check on Dimitri. He was still in the library reading something. I was wondering what he was looking for.

“Take a break, what are you still reading? It’s been hours and you’re in the same position as when I left you.”

“I’m trying to figure out the connection between you and Hector, but so far I found nothing.”

“Leave it alone for now. You’re too fixated on that and won’t find anything. There are no records left from those times. How do you want to find anything? We need to take out Barbie and Hector will be alone and won’t be able to do anything. Let’s just concentrate on that.”

Dimitri was exhausted, so I sent him up to his bedroom, but I stayed in the library. I went back to the shelf where I found that old book. Maybe I’ll find something else too, something we all missed, but after looking at the books I found nothing out of the ordinary. Sighing defeatedly I stepped away from the bookshelf and continued my way towards the back. For some reason it was getting darker and darker and I had a strange feeling.

“Leander, can you come here please? Has it always been this dark here?”

“No, it has never been this dark in the library. The maids are responsible for changing the candles, but as I see the candles were lit and then put out.”

“Do you think it was done on purpose or it’s just a coincidence? I have a strange feeling and I don’t like it.”

“I don’t know and I don’t feel strange. I think we should go back if you’re not feeling well.”

“Leander I’m getting goosebumps from this place. Something’s definitely wrong here and we have to figure out what, we can’t leave until then.” - he stayed by my side and the other guards arrived too.

“Calypso, what is going on again?”

“I’m not sure, but it has to be figured out today. Something or someone is pulling us towards the source, but it’s not a good thing. You have to get Dimitri.”

“Okay, I’ll tell the guards to call him here before I do anything. I remember the spell Ares used on that house, but this is different. We called that evil, but thinking back I’m not sure that’s the right word for that feeling.”

“I know what you mean.”

“Can you call Dimitri here? He needs to see this too.”

“Jasmine, what’s wrong?”

“I’m unsure, but something’s wrong. Leander can’t feel it, but something or someone is here. I’m covered in goosebumps and I’m feeling strange, like paranoia.”

“I don’t feel anything either, but I believe you. It has to do something with who you are, that’s why only you can feel it.”
