Xavier and I got back into the car. After explaining the situation to the manager of Starlight Entertainment Group, he also expressed his understanding.
On the way to StarBoost Media, Xavier couldn't help but praise.
"Mrs. Wilson, I really didn't expect your methods to be so impressive."
I sighed.
"It's not that I'm impressive, it's just that Sarah isn't worth much."
Last night, Sarah was chosen by a wealthy businessman. She was about to be sent to his room when she injured a bodyguard, smashed a glass bottle, and ran out with it pressed against her neck.
For such a strong-willed and uncontrollable woman, Terry wanted to get rid of her even more.
Now that I'm willing to take over, he should be happy.
But if he thinks he can get money out of me, he's dreaming!
I'd rather use that money to pay Sarah's salary!
Back at StarBoost Media, Terry called Sarah into the office.
The moment Sarah saw me, her expression was momentarily dazed.
She was about to speak, but I shook my head, so she closed her mouth.
Soon, Terry rummaged through a drawer under his desk and found Sarah's contract.
"This is Sarah's labor contract."
Xavier took it, glanced at it, and frowned deeply.
I could roughly guess the contents of the labor contract. Such a hegemonic contract is actually not legally effective.
It's just bullying these young people who have no backing.
Xavier quickly took out a new contract.
It clearly stated that Sarah was terminating her contract with StarBoost Media, and from now on, any of Sarah's income would have nothing to do with StarBoost Media.
Additionally, Sarah's account belonged to her, and no one was allowed to impersonate, seize, or infringe on her rights.
"Sign it. Once you sign, I'll transfer the money."
I played with my fingernails, indifferent.
Terry gritted his teeth, still wanting to struggle.
"Mrs. Wilson, one hundred thousand dollars is really too little. At least two hundred thousand dollars."
Hearing this, I stood up, ready to leave.
Seeing this, Terry had no other choice.
"Okay, I'll sign, I'll sign!"
It wasn't until his name appeared on the contract that I felt relieved.
Once the contract was signed, I transferred one hundred thousand dollars to StarBoost Media's account.
Sarah was still standing there in a daze, and Terry began to drive her out impatiently.
"What are you looking at? Hurry up and pack your things and get out! You don't need to come to StarBoost Media to work anymore!"
Sarah finally came to her senses and quickly followed us out.
"Mrs. Wilson..."
She called me timidly.
I slightly curled my lips.
"Don't bother packing your things, just come with me. Do you have all your documents with you?"
Sarah nodded and obediently followed behind me.
It wasn't until we walked out of StarBoost Media's doors and got into the car that I breathed a sigh of relief.
"My God, that scared me to death!"
I took deep breaths to calm myself while instructing Xavier.
"Quick, let's go!"
Xavier didn't understand but still stepped on the gas and drove away from StarBoost Media.
It wasn't until the StarBoost Media building disappeared from view that I completely relaxed.
"Those bastards were actually planning to use force against us!"
Xavier was puzzled.
"Mrs. Wilson, what happened?"
"You might not have seen it, but as we were leaving, a few strong men were following us. If Sarah had gone back to get her things, she might not have made it out!"
I was still shaken. Terry, seeing that he couldn't harm me, was ready to use dirty tricks to eliminate any evidence!
