Chapter 72
Ella stopped in her tracks.
After confirming with Karen once more that Joshua had really found Aurora, she knelt down without complaint.
Besides, Aiden had been driven to his death by her anger.
Now it was time for her to atone.
"Mommy."
Dorian quickly reached out to pull Ella up, almost crying from heartache.
"Mommy, get up, don't kneel, don't listen to that bad man."
At this moment, he hated Joshua even more.
He was such a big person, why did he have to bully him and Ella?
He felt so sad.
Ella was still sick.
Ella forced herself to hold on, enduring her splitting headache, and pushed Dorian away, signaling to Karen, "Karen, Dorian's clothes are wet too. Can you take him to have a hot bath and change his clothes?"
Karen thought that since Joshua hadn't punished Dorian, it should be okay to bring him inside.
She nodded in agreement. "Okay, I'll take him right away."
Without her leading, Dorian ran straight into the house.
Running to the living room and seeing Joshua and Scarlett sitting on the sofa, he rushed over and shouted angrily, "You big bad guy, why are you making my mom kneel outside? Isn't she your wife? Is this how you treat your wife?"
When he grew up, he definitely wouldn't let him off.
Joshua looked up at Dorian.
Looking at Dorian, so small yet acting all grown-up, his angry expression was quite cute.
Too bad this Dorian belonged to someone else.
Not taking him seriously at all, Joshua looked coldly at Karen.
"Either throw him out or get him out of my sight."
Karen nodded and quickly went over to pull Dorian away.
"Dorian, don't make your father angry. Come on, I'll take you to bathe and change clothes."
Dorian didn't want to go, glaring fiercely at Joshua.
"You're not my father. A man like you who bullies women is no good at all. I'm telling you, let my mom get up right now, or I'll poke you with a needle tonight."
He really wanted to go over and hit Joshua.
But Dorian's whole little body was picked up by Karen and carried straight upstairs.
Dorian struggled hard, his two little short legs kicking in the air, shouting at the top of his voice, "Bad man, don't bully my mommy, or I won't let you off when I grow up."
Joshua watched as Dorian was carried upstairs.
Thinking of Ella kneeling at the door, he signaled to Scarlett, "It's getting late, you should go back."
Scarlett knew that once she left, Ella would naturally move back into Tranquil Villa.
Maybe after some time, she and Joshua would reconcile.
If Joshua found out that Ella's two children were his, they would never separate.
She couldn't leave.
She absolutely couldn't let them get back together.
"Joshua."
Scarlett said sweetly, "Can you let me stay? I know you and Ella are impossible now. I want to fight for one more chance for myself."
Scarlett tried to move closer to Joshua, reaching out to hold his arm, lowering her head sadly, "My mom has arranged blind dates for me, but those men all want virgins, and I'm not one."
To make Joshua feel guilty, she covered her face and cried.
This move did touch Joshua.
Joshua had always thought that the person he slept with four years ago was Scarlett.
It was he who turned Scarlett from a girl into a woman.
He had to take responsibility for that.
As for Ella kneeling outside.
After letting her atone for Aiden's death, Joshua would naturally tell her to get lost.
Looking at Scarlett, Joshua's voice softened noticeably, "Go rest in the guest room first!"
Scarlett, seeing she had succeeded, had to leave for now.
As long as she didn't leave Tranquil Villa, she had ways to sleep with Joshua again.
And make Ella see it with her own eyes.
Joshua pulled open the drawer in front of him, took out the divorce agreement he had prepared, got up and went outside.
Striding up to Ella, he looked down at her from above and threw the divorce agreement at her.
"Sign it."
Ella was soaking wet, and her illness hadn't gotten better.
Now kneeling, her legs were already numb and losing feeling, and her head hurt.
Looking at the divorce agreement that suddenly appeared before her eyes.
Ella knew this was inevitable.
She and Joshua never had a future.
Picking up the agreement, Ella hesitated to sign, looking up at Joshua.
"How is Aurora? Can you give her to me?"
Ella knew Joshua was in a hurry to divorce so he could be with Scarlett.
She wouldn't delay him either.
But she had to see Aurora first.
What if Joshua didn't give her Aurora later?
"I told you to sign."
Joshua clearly had no patience, avoiding eye contact, unwilling to look at Ella's half-dead appearance.
Ella insisted, "Once I see Aurora, I'll sign, and I'll leave immediately with them. I definitely won't delay you and Scarlett."
"Ella."
Joshua got angry, squatting down and grabbing her neck, grinding his teeth in hatred.
"What right do you have to bargain with me? Did I lose Aurora? Why should I give her to you?"
He just wouldn't give Aurora to her.
That Aurora was found by people he sent, and he was paying for her treatment.
By that calculation, Aurora's life now belonged to him, and how he dealt with her was his business.
Why should he hand her over to this disgusting Ella for nothing?
Ella knew Joshua wouldn't easily return Aurora to her.
She threw down the divorce agreement and said stubbornly, "If you don't give Aurora to me, I won't sign."
"You..."
Joshua's fingers gripping Ella's neck tightened even more.
He wished he could just kill her with his own hands.
Heartless thing, staying alive would only cause him trouble.
"Big bad guy, let go of my mommy."
Dorian suddenly ran out of the house, kicked Joshua with a high leg, and then bit down hard on his arm.
Joshua released Ella and easily grabbed Dorian, holding him up in the air. "Believe it or not, I'll kill you."
Dorian was still too small, with no strength at all.
Held up in the air, unable to do anything, he could only curse at Joshua.
"Big bad guy, I'll have the police arrest you. Let me go."
Ella was afraid of scaring Dorian. Still kneeling on the ground, she grabbed Joshua's pant leg and begged, "Joshua, put him down. He's just a child."
"Yeah, he's just a little bastard. If he were a bit older, I'd ruin that mouth of his."
Joshua threw Dorian aside without mercy, looking at him fiercely.
"Come near me one more step, and I'll make you an orphan forever."
Dorian was thrown to the ground, his bottom hurting from the fall.
Ella quickly pulled him up and held him in her arms, looking at Joshua with tearful eyes.
"If you have a problem, take it out on me. Why are you venting on a child?"
