Chapter 120
Ella stood there, stunned.
Mason liked Scarlett?
Hadn't they always called each other brother and sister? And Scarlett was known to everyone as the Lewis family's precious daughter.
She never expected that Mason and Scarlett had actually slept together.
If it weren't for this, Joshua probably wouldn't have called off the wedding.
Ella gave a bitter smile and asked Mason, "So does that mean you're going to marry Scarlett?"
Mason looked at her through the rearview mirror again. For some reason, facing this kind of question from Ella made him nervous, constantly watching her reaction.
"I want to marry her, I'm just afraid my parents will try to stop me."
"Do you really love Scarlett that much?" Ella asked again.
Mason didn't deny it. Seeing Ella's serious expression, his heart tightened.
Ella continued, "Before, when you took me to the suburbs and wanted to hurt me—was that Scarlett's idea, or did you want to get rid of me for her sake?"
She knew it must have been Scarlett's doing.
She just wanted to see if Mason would admit it.
After a long silence, Mason finally said against his will, "I never said I wanted to hurt you. I just wanted you to leave. I'm sorry. If I had known earlier that you were my sister, I would never have treated you that way."
Mason didn't deny that for Scarlett's sake, he had indeed wanted to harm Ella.
But after learning Ella was his sister, he not only felt guilty and blamed himself, but more than anything wanted to make it up to her.
However, regarding what Scarlett had asked him to do, Mason didn't want to admit it.
Ella didn't hear what she wanted to hear and gave a cold laugh.
Mason loved Scarlett so much, of course he would protect her.
She wasn't in a hurry. She'd take her time.
Soon, the car arrived at the Lewis Villa.
Heath and Rhea were desperate to see the daughter they'd lost for twenty years.
They'd been waiting at the entrance early.
Along with other Lewis family relatives.
A large group of people stood guard at the villa entrance.
When they saw Mason's car return and it had barely stopped, everyone rushed forward to pull open the door.
They greeted Ella as she got out, tears of joy streaming down their faces.
As soon as Ella got out holding Dorian's hand, she saw Heath and Rhea in the crowd.
Their eyes were red, and they rushed toward her. Without a word, they held her tightly in their arms.
Ella stood there stiffly, not moving.
At this moment, her heart was incredibly calm.
Without any ripples, as if it had nothing to do with her.
Perhaps because of Scarlett, Ella couldn't bring herself to like this family.
If it weren't for revenge, she wouldn't have come here with Dorian and Mason.
"Flora, it's really you."
A relative nearby said with a choked voice, "This really is fate. Flora was right beside us all along, but we didn't know."
"Flora, you've suffered all these years."
The relatives surrounded Ella, asking after her welfare with great concern.
Rhea let go of Ella, already unable to control her emotions, tears streaming down her face, "Flora, do you know how your mother has spent these twenty years? I've missed you so much. I thought I'd never see you again in this lifetime."
She touched Ella's face with both hands, tears in her eyes, her voice trembling as she spoke.
Heath beside her had already picked up Dorian. Usually so dignified despite his age, he now held Dorian and couldn't help but shed tears.
Ella looked at Heath and Rhea before her.
Then at the Lewis family relatives surrounding her.
Perhaps infected by the atmosphere, she also felt sadness rising in her nose and wanted to cry.
In the end, Ella held back her tears and told them with a bitter smile, "I never thought I still had parents and a brother. You all know about my situation—don't you think my return brings shame to the Lewis family?"
After all, everyone knew she'd had a child out of wedlock, married Joshua while hiding this fact, and was kicked out by the Thomas family with nothing.
Many people would avoid someone like her. The Lewis family should be no exception, right?
But the next second, Ella saw Rhea grab her, unable to control her emotions, still crying, "Silly child, how could Mom think you brought shame to the Lewis family? As long as you come back, even if you'd killed someone or committed arson, even if you'd done many bad things, you'd still be Mom's treasure. Mom would rather suffer all the hardships for you, bear all the criticism, than let you leave again."
Thinking that Ella was the biological daughter she'd lost for twenty years, Rhea still couldn't calm down. She held Ella tightly in her arms again, crying so hard her whole body shook.
Heath also said beside them in a hoarse voice, "No matter what you've done before, in Dad's heart, you're the best. I'm sorry, Ella. We let you suffer all these years."
Before Ella could even absorb the love they were giving her, the relatives nearby also said with great affection that they didn't care about what she'd done.
Having a child out of wedlock wasn't a big deal at all.
They just wanted Ella to come back safely.
For the first time, Ella experienced what it meant to be showered with love and affection.
So she had once been a happy girl too.
If she hadn't gotten lost, how would she have depended on Finn for so many years?
Logically, since she was lost at four years old, she should have some memory of it.
But now she couldn't remember at all how she got lost.
Holding back the urge to hug Rhea and cry, Ella pushed away her mother and told them, "Thank you for accepting me. This is my child, Dorian. I also have a daughter named Aurora. You've probably heard—she's no longer with us."
Ella would never forget that Aurora had been kidnapped by Scarlett, got injured, and died after failed attempts to save her.
Coming back to the Lewis family today, she was going to make Scarlett pay a terrible price.
Hearing this, everyone turned their eyes to Dorian.
Thinking of the one who died, who was Dorian's twin and a little girl, the relatives couldn't help but shed tears of sadness.
Rhea reached out to touch Dorian's little face, still crying, "Dorian, I'm your grandmother. I'm sorry. If Grandma had brought you over earlier, maybe Aurora wouldn't have died."
"Can I hold you?"
Dorian frowned, and seeing Rhea crying so sadly, he actively moved toward her.
Heath reached out to take Ella's hand, his eyes full of heartache and fatherly love, "Ella, let's go inside. You're home now. Dad will never let you and Dorian suffer outside again."
No one knew how many years he, as a father, had waited for this daughter to return.
Fortunately, they finally got to see this day.
Ella looked at Heath's large hand wrapping around hers. A warm current surged through her heart, and tears moistened her lashes.
So this was what it felt like to have parents who cared for you.
Ella's heart felt warm, as if she had someone to rely on, and she inexplicably felt very secure.
Thinking of how Scarlett had been cared for by the Lewis family all these years, now that she was back, from now on, everything Scarlett had, she would take back one by one, and then personally send Scarlett to prison.
