Chapter 138 The Truth She Saw

Chapter 138 The Truth She Saw

The Monarch Club was Luminous City's most exclusive private establishment.

Money alone couldn't buy you entry to the Monarch Club!

Only those with gold membership cards could step foot in it.

Security was naturally flawless.

Today, Evelyn had pestered Hawk relentlessly about visiting The Monarch Club to "see how the other half lived."

Unable to resist her demands, Hawk grudgingly brought her along, his face dark with annoyance.

The moment they entered the atmosphere-rich luxury suite—with its sultry lighting and seductive music—Hawk's irritation was instantly replaced by a different kind of heat. His arm shot out, pinning Evelyn against the plush sofa as scorching kisses rained down on her.

Evelyn made a token effort to push him away, but she was no match for this hungry wolf.

She could only surrender to his every demand.

His stamina was truly incredible—she genuinely worried he might exhaust himself to death one day.

When their passionate battle finally ended, Evelyn's legs felt like jelly. Using some excuse, she slipped out for air.

Just as she rounded the corner, a devastatingly familiar figure caught her eye.

Nicholas!

A stunning beauty clung to his arm—a woman with an absolutely killer figure and an aura that was simply otherworldly.

Compared to someone crude and reckless like Zoe, this was like comparing heaven and earth.

She possessed natural sensuality, her tall frame wrapped in a perfectly tailored dress that showcased every curve.

Most lethal of all were her eyes—seductive yet somehow carrying a hint of deadly coldness.

The pair walked hand in hand into suite 888 at the end of the corridor. The door clicked shut, and they didn't emerge again.

Around eight that evening, Emma arrived at the Monarch Club's entrance.

Evelyn was already waiting, waving her golden membership card with a mischievous grin.

The two women sailed through security without a hitch.

In the corridors, scantily clad servers wearing masks and bunny ears glided between suites with trays of drinks.

Each suite door featured a reversible sign on the handle.

Red meant "Do Not Disturb."

Green meant "May Knock."

These signs were controlled from inside each suite.

Evelyn remembered how, the moment they'd entered their suite earlier, Hawk had immediately flipped their sign to red before making love to her.

At this moment, suite 888's door displayed a blazing red sign.

Evelyn leaned close to Emma's ear, quickly explaining in hushed tones before nodding toward suite 888 at the corridor's end.

"See that? Red sign—things are getting intense in there."

Just as she finished speaking, the sign on suite 888 suddenly flipped from red to green.

Evelyn's eyes lit up as she slapped her thigh excitedly.

"Oh! They're done? Perfect timing!"

She grabbed Emma's arm. "Quick, I've got clothes ready for you—change and go take a look!"

Evelyn had prepared a complete server's outfit for Emma, complete with a face-concealing mask.

The drinks ordered by suite 888 sat waiting on a nearby tray.

This lightning-fast operation left Emma still reeling from shock as Evelyn pushed her toward suite 888's door.

"Go on, I'll be right over there if you need me!" Evelyn encouraged before disappearing around the corner.

Emma stood outside suite 888, her heart pounding like a drum.

Go in, or not?

As she hesitated, the suite door suddenly cracked open from inside.

A sultry female voice called out, "Did the drinks arrive?"

Emma's scalp tingled. It was too late to retreat now—she could only steel herself and enter with the drink tray.

The suite's interior was bathed in dreamy lighting and swirling smoke.

Three men and one woman.

Nicholas sat prominently in the main seat, expression indifferent, an unlit cigar between his fingers.

Beside him clung an incredibly sexy, provocatively dressed woman—the very "stunning beauty" Evelyn had mentioned.

And beside Nicholas sat Wesley!

Wesley openly embraced another provocatively dressed man.

Emma's heart lurched violently.

Hadn't these two just had a fierce confrontation the other night? Nicholas had even fought Wesley to rescue her.

Were they negotiating some kind of deal today?

Wesley gestured toward the empty glasses on the table with his cigar-holding hand, his voice carrying a hint of mockery.

"Pour the drinks."

Emma lowered her eyes, trying to appear like any ordinary server.

She approached with the tray and began carefully pouring amber liquid into each glass.

She filled drinks for all four people.

At this moment, she stood directly in front of Nicholas.

She could clearly feel an icy, sharp gaze falling on her like a physical weight, filled with scrutiny and examination.

It was Nicholas.

That stare was absolutely lethal.

Then the sexy woman beside Nicholas—Nora West—picked up her freshly poured drink and let herself melt onto Nicholas's lap.

Her arms wound around his neck like serpents as her red lips brushed his ear, her voice so coquettish it could melt bones.

"Mr. Harrison, you can't break your promise. You personally agreed to spend three months with me in Luminous City. Why did it take so long for you to finally come get me?"

Her voice carried notes of reproach mixed with flirtation.

Emma's hand holding the bottle trembled almost imperceptibly.

Spend three months with her?

Her heart felt crushed by an invisible fist, instantly sinking to the depths.

Nicholas's voice was flat, betraying no emotion.

"I never said I wouldn't."

Yes, he'd agreed.

He'd actually agreed!

Nora laughed delightedly at this, bringing her wine glass to Nicholas's lips with misty eyes.

"Then tonight, don't go home, okay?"

The naked seduction was completely unabashed.

Nicholas didn't even lift an eyelid. He neither drank from her offered glass nor showed any reaction, instead frowning slightly as he pushed her off his lap.

"Sit over there. You're heavy."

His tone was calm yet carried undeniable distance, showing her no face whatsoever.

Wesley quickly jumped in to smooth things over.

"Nora, sweetheart, sit properly and don't pester Mr. Harrison. Feelings need to develop gradually."

Then he turned to Nicholas with a smile that didn't reach his eyes.

"Mr. Harrison, you were pretty rough the other night, weren't you? If I hadn't dodged quickly, I'd be dead. Did your heroic rescue really require targeting me specifically for disaster?"

Emma, who'd been quietly clearing the table, froze at these words.

So everything that happened that night was just an elaborate performance?

He'd brought in the real Wesley to stage this whole charade—making her hate Wesley so he could then play the hero.

Nicholas calmly set down his cigar, his tone utterly flat.

"The money's already been transferred, hasn't it? Are you saying it wasn't enough, Mr. West?"

Wesley immediately waved his hands, laughing more genuinely.

"No, no, no, Mr. Harrison! You're so generous—how could I complain? Money is the most beautiful thing in the world!"

He shifted tone, speaking pointedly.

"But Mr. Harrison, this is Nora's first time truly liking a man. You mustn't let her down."

Nicholas replied simply: "Of course."

Emma felt instantly deflated, as if something was blocking her throat, making breathing difficult.

She collected the last empty glass and turned to leave this suffocating place.

Suddenly, Nora said, "Mr. Harrison, I heard you have a magnificent pink diamond in your collection. I want to see it!"

She nuzzled his shoulder coquettishly, as if acting spoiled.

Nicholas paused. "The pink diamond already belongs to someone else. If you want one, I'll have another commissioned."

He spoke casually, as if tens of millions meant nothing to him.

"I knew you'd treat me the best." Nora beamed, rubbing her face against his arm.

Emma couldn't listen anymore and prepared to leave.

Suddenly, her wrist was seized!

Wesley had somehow appeared behind her, yanking her into his embrace!

"Ah!" Emma cried out in alarm.

Wesley's thick arms locked around her waist, imprisoning her against his chest, his tone frivolous.

"Well, well, when did this club acquire such a sexy little beauty?"

He buried his head in her fragrant hair, inhaling deeply with a satisfied sigh.

Nicholas glanced coldly in their direction, his lips curving in a mocking smile.

"Mr. West, since when have you developed an interest in women?"

Wesley held Emma while laughing loudly, his hand lewdly groping her waist.

"My tastes have gotten a bit strange lately—this is exactly what I'm craving now. Tonight, I'll try her out and see if she's really as beautiful as she appears!"

Emma's entire body went rigid with shock and fear.

She wanted to scream, to struggle, but thinking of Nicholas sitting right there, she didn't dare make a sound.

She could only bite her lip desperately, forcing herself to stay calm.

Seeing this, Nora laughed charmingly as she draped herself over Nicholas again.

"Mr. Harrison, why don't we find somewhere else to have some real fun? Let's not disturb Mr. West's entertainment."

Nicholas glanced indifferently at Emma, trapped in Wesley's grip, his deep eyes unreadable.

He stood up, preparing to leave.

The man who'd been silently sitting beside Wesley also rose, following toward the door.

The suite door closed.

Emma's heart sank. Just as Wesley was about to kiss her, she twisted the ring on her index finger and flicked it!

Nicholas and Nora had just reached the door when two security guards shouted, "Mr. West has been attacked! Lock down the club—no one enters or leaves. Search everyone!"

"Wesley!" Nora shrieked, running back toward the suite.
