Chapter 540 Secrets

Ophelia decided to go back along the same road but unexpectedly encountered Savannah, who strode towards her aggressively. She didn't want to have a conflict with Savannah so she made way for her, while Savannah blocked her.

Ophelia looked at her and said coldly, "Get out of my way!"

Savannah curled her lips and stretched out her hands abruptly, pushing Ophelia down.

Ophelia fell to the ground and felt a pain from her rear end and elbows. She propped on her arms and wanted to get up but suddenly she couldn't see. She was so panic that she sat frozen on the ground.

Savannah was towering over her. She taunted her and said, "Ophelia, get up! Don't play victim with me. My brother isn't here. I'm not a man and I won't take pity on you."

However, Ophelia was still seated and ignored her. Savannah was irritated and stepped on Ophelia's ankle. It hurt so much that Ophelia covered her foot with hands in a panic look.

Savannah watched her carefully and noticed her scared expression and dull eyes. Then she realized something. She squatted with a smile and waved her hands in front of Ophelia but found her have no response.

She chuckled and gloated. "Ah! I see. Ophelia, you are blind now."

Ophelia was frozen.

Savannah laughed haughtily. "How does it feel, Ophelia?"

Ophelia turned pale. She stepped back subconsciously trying to keep away from the strident and mocking voice of Savannah.

Her action proved Savannah's surmise. Thus, she laughed loudly and pointed at Ophelia, snorting at her. "It serves you right. Look at you, a blind woman, you are not good enough for my brother. How dare you to fight for Tommy's custody with Zachariah? You can't see. You don't deserve Zachariah and Tommy. You're such a crap!"

Ophelia felt her head in buzz and she couldn't stop thinking that she was blind. She struggled rising up and tottered to escape away. But she hit the tree in front and when she took a nervous step back, she tripped over her feet and fell.

Savannah pretty enjoyed watching her make a fool of herself like a clown. She waltzed up to Ophelia and stepped on her hands, hearing her shout out of pain.

She squatted, patted Ophelia's cheek and said, "Ophelia, you deserve it. I am so happy to see you lose sight. I didn't know why Zachariah married you. Now, you are blind. Do you believe he will still love you as always when he sees you in a mess like this?"

Ophelia got panic, her hands flailing in the air. She caught Savannah's arms and said anxiously, "No, please don't tell him. Savannah, please."

"Why? Are you afraid? Are you afraid to be seen by my brother? Right. Even if he loves you, how long will his love last after he finds out that you're nothing now? Men's love is always on short guarantee period, let alone facing a blind person that needs help even when she takes a shower. I'm really looking forward to the days when you are totally blind. Because I can't wait to see the moment when Zachariah turns his love for you into disgust. That must be wonderful."

Savannah deliberately provoked Ophelia and said, "Ophelia, think about this. You can't walk alone; you can't take a bath, brush your teeth and get dressed all by yourself. You need to be watched anytime and anywhere and you become an obstacle. By then, will my dear brother still love you? Well, as I see it, he might not express his disgust considering your marriage for so many years."

She continued to say, "No wonder you want to divorce, trying to let him remember the best of you. You do play a good game. And you're smart to leave at the best time so as to ask for a large amount of money. After all, you'll become a total failure when you completely turn blind."

Ophelia's face was white as snow. She clambered to her feet and stumbled backwards, screaming in fright, "Shut up! Shut up! Help! Can someone help me, please?

"Go on, go ahead. Ophelia, you should let everybody see that you have become blind, and let my brother know. Anyhow, I don't care if you're gonna divorce. I just want to see how you gonna be detested by him."

Ophelia stopped screaming. She turned her blind eyes to Savannah, her lips shivering. "Why are you doing this to me?"

Savannah was thoroughly enjoying this moment and she sneered with a villainous face, "Because I hate you! You don't deserve Zachariah at all."

Ophelia took a deep breath and tried to calm down. She said in a cool voice, "You love him."

Although the secret was revealed, Savannah didn't feel ashamed and admitted bluntly instead. "Yes, and so what? He's so good and I've admired him since I was young. I love him and I take it for granted. It's quite a pity that he and I are brother and sister. Otherwise, his wife must be me. I can't stay with him forever, and neither can you. You don't deserve him."

Ophelia gave her a smile. She had felt weird about Savannah's attitude towards Zachariah and didn't know why Savannah was so hostile to her. But now she realized that Savannah had portrayed her as an imaginary enemy.

"Savannah, don't you think your feeling for him is so sordid?" she snorted.

"I don't care what you say. I simply adore him. Even if he ever chided me, I still think he's good. But I will never cross the line. I just think he's too good for you and I want you to get away. As long as you can leave, I will introduce a perfect lady that matches with him. But that won't be you, a blind woman," Savannah said maliciously with her arms crossed over her chest.

Hearing her words, Ophelia's feeling fluctuated from time to time.
