Chapter 29 Andrew Is Coming To Pick Me Up.

Chapter 29 Andrew Is Coming To Pick Me Up.
Collin's gaze that night was so deep, it kept me awake until dawn. Our conversation last night ended there, hanging without knowing the final decision. But let's go with this for now; the situation is too critical right now, and Collin is reluctant to leave me alone in a situation like this.
The next morning, large trucks arrived carrying building materials. We divided the group to build houses, and some of us went to work in the fields.
Anthony went to the farm because it plays an important role in marketing, while Collin, I, and Aunt Rose helped with the construction.
The women prepared the food, and the men went straight to rebuilding our homes.
Until noon, everything was safe and under control. None of Andrew's men came back, and we hoped they wouldn't, even though it was unlikely they'd give up on getting me.
By late afternoon, the work had already laid the foundations for several houses; although they weren't very high, everyone was smiling happily and satisfied. We plan to continue working until nightfall; at least we'll have a roofed house to stay in tonight to avoid the rain, as the clouds already looked dark this afternoon.
The team working in the fields hasn't returned yet; it seems Anthony also ordered them to work harder to earn more today. Everyone is working together; the aunts are only helping with cooking and small things.
We had just started to feel calm; we had just started to laugh again. And that dark afternoon brought four cars to our village at once. Andrew got out of the car, staring at me in disbelief while everyone froze, stopping their activities.
"Why did you lie to me? Is life just a game? I'm going crazy missing you." Andrew's eyes were teary, and Collin pulled my hand behind his body for protection.
"The media has already reported the death. Please don't cause a stir in the world again with your news. You need to start letting go of Matilda; you're too busy with your own affairs now. Let Matilda fly free wherever she wants." Collin tried to talk to Andrew nicely.
"You're getting more and more shameless. You're just someone else; why are you getting so involved in other people's personal problems? Do you like my wife?" Andrew asked.
"Yes. And I won't let her live in misery with you," Collin said loudly, but his words, which many people considered gentle and brave, seemed to be worthless in Andrew's eyes. Andrew laughed heartily, even though tears were welling up in the corners of his eyes.
"Shameless." And instantly Andrew's face turned into deep anger.
"Yes, I am shameless. Since it's already come to this, I'll keep Matilda by my side," Collin said stubbornly.
"Try asking Matilda. Does she like you? Is she willing to stay with you?" Andrew pointed at me, asking Collin to ask me directly. But Collin wasn't stupid; he wouldn't possibly obey Andrew's orders.
"Go, you are divorced."
"We were never divorced. From the beginning, it was just an unvalidated demand. And now I'm asking for my wife back; you've been stealing her for so long. Before I get angry and tear this place apart again, give Matilda back to me nicely." Andrew reached out his hand, asking me to come to him. But Collin grabbed my hand.
"I won't give up."
"No, Collin, I'd better go back to him. We can't hurt the villagers anymore." Even though I said that, Collin stubbornly shook his head.
"Don't be so arrogant in someone else's territory. Even if you're a great person, when you step onto someone else's land, you still have to bow your head." Uncle Ben stepped forward, holding a shovel in his hand, and then the other uncles lined up beside us, carrying other tools.
Andrew laughed again, as if he could defeat a thousand people, let alone just a small portion of the villagers, most of whom were elderly men.
"I'm fed up with all of this. Take my wife by force. If she and his doctor are inseparable, just bring them both." Andrew ruled casually, leaning against his car while lighting a cigarette. While his men were running around attacking us, Andrew was just watching and sipping his cigarette.
We ourselves had no choice but to retaliate against their resistance. Because of the small number of villagers, the women tried to help with kitchen utensils in their hands to beat Andrew's men. Meanwhile, Collin and I were quite overwhelmed fighting several people.
Up ahead, I saw Andrew was quite surprised by my martial arts skills. I hope he's scared enough to treat me roughly again like he used to. But Andrew was still Andrew; his temperament seemed like an unchangeable trait, and there was never any fear in his heart. Supported by his strong financial standing, Andrew felt increasingly powerful.
Slowly the aunts retreated, and the uncles, already overwhelmed, were repeatedly beaten without resisting. Witnessing that made me feel heartbroken and guilty. I deliberately let myself be defeated, allowing Andrew's men to capture me.
"Matilda, why are you giving up?" Collin asked during their fight.
I shook my head weakly. "Look at them. Are you really going to do that? Let's end all of this." I asked Collin to look at the uncles who had been beaten to a pulp. Collin's face looked annoyed; if Anthony were here, maybe we could have matched them. However, we are in an uneven fight. Not to mention the uncles fighting without any martial arts training.
I will go with you, but please release the villagers. Even after this incident is over, please never come here again to bother them. I spoke to Andrew loudly and firmly.
"Alright, darling, get in the car." Andrew's words made his men direct me to get into the car. And seeing me surrender, stubborn Collin even surrendered himself to be taken along.
I don't know when Dr. Collin, who is so smart, became this stupid. He wasn't supposed to come with me, but he followed me anyway and was taken into another car. I don't know what Andrew was talking about out there with the villagers; I couldn't hear clearly. And a few minutes later, Andrew got into the same car as me.
Andrew's car and his men left the village, and from the direction of the fields, I saw Anthony and some other villagers who had just finished working and were trying to run to catch us, but the chase was in vain because the car sped away from the village environment.
"If you had listened, none of this would have happened," Andrew said suddenly.
"So I have to be silent while being tortured and wait for my wits to return?" When I fought back, Andrew's hand was already raised to slap me, but I strongly held his hand.
"I agreed to return only for the sake of the villagers. Other than that, I didn't come because I still love you." And from his eyes, I was satisfied because Andrew looked so taken aback by my words.
