Chapter 58 Your Words Are Magic

Chapter 58 Your Words Are Magic

Elara woke up early.

Even though Kieran had made promises yesterday and she had felt pretty confident at the barbecue joint, she felt a bit uneasy.

She checked her phone and saw that someone had woken up even earlier.

In their group chat, Sylvia had sent over a dozen messages more than half an hour ago.

She was advising Ethan to stay calm when he went to the Blackwood Heritage Group, to avoid arguments with others, and to observe and think more.

It was like a parent giving endless advice to their kid on their first day of work.

She also advised Elara to avoid conflict with the Hart family for now, to see Kieran's attitude first.

It was easy to talk big, but whether he could deliver was another matter.

Let Kieran make the first move, and then respond accordingly.

If someone had to take the hit, let it be Kieran. They should minimize their losses as much as possible.

[Got it, don't worry.]

Elara sent a kiss emoji in the group chat.

Sylvia often acted like the leader of their trio, always planning and considering everything.

Soon, Ethan replied: [I thought it was Sophia sending me messages, over a dozen at once, feels like a dream!]

Sylvia sent a voice message angrily: [Get lost, Ethan! Always thinking about Sophia, why don't you think about bumping into her at the office this morning?]

As she was heading out, Kieran sent a message.

[Your onboarding is arranged. I have some matters to attend to today, so I'll be at the office later. Seraphina will be there today, too.]

Straightforward, no unnecessary words.

Ethan said that on the first day of work, he should make a grand entrance, so a bicycle was out of the question.

He took out the Mercedes that had been sitting in the garage for a long time.

Since being kicked out of his family home, he hadn't driven it because he couldn't afford the gas, especially for a luxury car like this.

He used to spend money freely, with his family backing him, so he never cared about such expenses.

After being kicked out, he realized the cost of living, and reluctantly parked the car in the basement; even the monthly parking fee made him wince.

Now, driving it out was quite a statement.

This time, going to the business office was different from the last.

As soon as they arrived at the company building, security came over to greet them and said, "Ms. Voss."

Ethan was stunned and whispered, "Isn't this a bit much? Feels like a scene from a mob movie."

He never had anything nice to say!

As soon as they entered the company, the HR representative who had received her the last time was already waiting respectfully at the door.

"Ms. Voss, it's been a while. How have you been?"

Elara found it uncomfortable, and she waved her hand. "Not bad, we're acquaintances, just call me by my name."

HR shrank back. "I wouldn't dare, Mr. Blackwood specifically arranged this. By the way, last time was rushed, and I didn't introduce myself properly. I'm Maya Cooper."

Elara was surprised.

The last time she visited the project office, she couldn't find her way and was met with hostility from the project team.

She didn't expect Maya to remember all that.

Maya led Elara and Ethan, chatting and laughing, to the center of the project office hall. She made a funny face and chuckled.

"You've been here before, so you probably remember the way. I'm leading you again, not because I think you'll forget, but because I don't want you to forget me. Mr. Blackwood transferred me to the project team as HR yesterday. We're both new here, so let's look out for each other."

Sure enough, everyone at Blackwood Heritage Group was sharp.

Once inside, the atmosphere was much more harmonious compared to the last time when she felt like a target.

Sofia's desk, once cluttered with makeup, was now clean, with a new computer sitting alone on it.

Not only that, since Kieran's visit, the desks of other office workers were cleared of figurines, toys, and water bottles, leaving only work-related items.

It seemed Kieran had made significant changes after his confrontation with Juniper.

Maya clapped her hands and smiled. "Everyone, please pause your work for a moment. I have an announcement."

"Elara Voss, the head of Story Revival Atelier, one of the best artifact restoration studios in Vossshire, will temporarily merge Story Revival Atelier with our business department and serve as the Vice President of Artifact Restoration and Authentication. Let's welcome her and work together to create more possibilities for Blackwood Heritage Group!"

As soon as she finished speaking, enthusiastic applause erupted.

Elara bowed slightly in return. "I'm happy to see everyone again. Let's work hard together and make progress!"

She glanced around the room.

The two female colleagues who had supported Sofia last time were nowhere to be seen.

And someone was missing.

Where was Juniper?

Maya noticed Elara's concern and whispered, "Ms. Hart just stepped out. She knows about today, so don't worry."

With that, she arranged an office for Elara.

The project team's office space was large, over 800 square feet.

The central work area took up a small portion, the core restoration and authentication room took up half, and the rest were various leaders' offices.

This time, Elara was given a bright office with two desks, one smaller and one larger, clearly for Elara and Seraphina.

Elara smiled knowingly.

Kieran might be strict, but he cared for Seraphina.

Seraphina had mentioned wanting an office with a view of the sunset and sunrise.

Just as Maya was about to leave, Juniper walked in, followed by a girl.

The girl wore a pink knit sweater, her hair slightly curled, with red-framed glasses.

She was slightly chubby, looking cute and charming.

Ethan, who had been silent, suddenly became restless.

He kept fidgeting, touching his hair, adjusting his clothes, and signaling to Elara.

There was only one girl in the world who could make Ethan this excited.

Elara chuckled.

Sylvia's words from this morning had come true!

Sophia had indeed joined the Blackwood Heritage Group's Artifact Restoration and Authentication department.

Elara, smiling, took out her phone and @Sylvia in the group chat: [Quick, tell me I'll strike it rich today!]

Sylvia replied with a question mark.

Elara quoted Sylvia's previous voice message and responded:

[Your words are magic!]
