‘He actually pushed me…’
Winnie stared at the disgusting scum of a man in front of her coldly. She felt as though her frozen heart had been stabbed once again.
During their eight years together, which also their happiest years, he had said that he was an illegitimate child. As such, he placed a huge importance on family. He told her that he wanted to have many children with her. However, now he had replaced her with Ava.
"I really wonder what kind of offspring two disgusting people like you will produce! You’ll go to hell for this!” Winnie said before she walked away.
Daniel frowned and instinctively chased after Winnie.
When Ava caught a glimpse of Daniel’s gaze, she thought to herself coldly, ‘Damn it. I can’t let that evil woman win back the company and seduce Daniel again!’
…
At the lobby of Triton Group.
When Olivia saw Winnie walking out with an indifferent expression on her face, she rushed over and asked, “How did it go? Did any of the shareholders support you?”
After they both entered the car, Winnie shook her head. "Businessmen prioritize profits, after all. No one would be foolish enough to offend the Anderson family right now. However, I ruined Daniel’s cooperation plans today and provoked Ava into making a bet.”
"Well done! What kind of bet?" Olivia asked.
"Next month is the jewelry competition. If I win, I can return to the company as the general manager."
"Damn it! Daniel and Ava must be scared now."
Winnie’s eyes glinted coldly as she said, “I don’t know if they’re scared or not. What I know is that the shareholders don’t believe I’ll win. All of them like her but mock me.”
Olivia gritted her teeth when she heard these words. Then, she opened up her laptop as she said with a cold smile, “Are those old geezers even aware of your capability? We must win! I just checked. The competition will begin in October. This time, the competition is organized by… Imperial Jewelry. The judges are all very well-respected, and…”
Olivia suddenly trailed off.
Winnie’s expression was stiff as she turned around and asked with a hint of anger, “Who did you say organized the competition?”
Olivia gulped before she replied, “The leader in the jewelry and also your arch-enemy, Imperial Jewelry. They’re the organizer…”
Silence descended in the car.
Olivia turned and saw the angry expression on Winnie’s face, but she still asked, “Isn’t the CEO of Imperial Jewelry the one who sent you an email and insulted your small chest?”
Winnie retorted, “Well, I insulted him back!”
The corners of Olivia’s lips twitched slightly before she said, “I guess that makes things even. Anyway, Imperial Jewelry is the top player in the industry. The boss is a mysterious figure. Rumor has it that he’s the third young master of the influential Rodriguez family. There’s no need to quarrel with him every day. Companies are always in competition after all…”
"You don't understand. The grudge has existed for generations! Members of the Rodriguez family stole my grandfather’s business in the past! Up until now, I have had to compete with Triton in every bidding. A few years ago, I lost the contract in the neighboring state because I saved a man with hysteria. I’ll remember this for the rest of my life!”
Olivia let Winnie vent for a while before she said in an attempt to appease the latter, “Alright, alright.”
‘It seems like the young CEO of Imperial Jewelry is fated to have a bad relationship with Winnie…’
Olivia said with a sigh, “You’ve not even met the CEO of Imperial Jewelry, but you already hold a grudge against him. In any case, we can’t allow Ava to win. We have to flatter him and build a good relationship with him. He’s one of the judges after all."
After hacking into the system, Olivia said, “Okay. The CEO of Imperial Jewelry has a business meeting tomorrow at Victoria Private Club."
Winnie was briefly stunned when she heard this. When she recovered, she said, “Send me the address.”
Olivia smirked. “Are you going to kneel down and flatter your enemy?”
“Mind your own business,” Winnie said, glaring at Olivia.
Considering the situation, Winnie had no other choice but to flatter her enemy. She naturally felt complicated about this.
…
The next day.
It was almost afternoon when Winnie arrived at Victoria Private Club. She made countless mental preparations before she came. However, before she could even enter the club, she was stopped by a disdainful security guard.
"Miss Anderson, do you have a reservation?"
This was a place for the rich and the powerful. Once upon a time, Winnie used to be able to enter at will, but now, she was penniless. Just as the security guard was about to drive her away, she heard a male voice say lazily, “What are you doing? Let her go.”
Winnie turned around in surprise and saw a handsome young man.
The young man also seemed surprised when he saw Winnie.
‘Mrs. L?’
He approached her and looked curiously before he asked in a friendly tone, “Miss, I’m the owner of this club. Who do you want to meet?”
Seeing that the other person looked like a gentleman and did not seem like a bad person, Winnie said, “Hello. I want to meet the CEO of Imperial Jewelry. I heard that he’s here today. Can you please introduce me?”
‘The CEO of Imperial Jewelry? Isn’t that Mr. L?’
The man smiled playfully and said meaningfully, “Oh, you want to meet him? However, he’s not someone you can meet just because you want to…”
Winnie understood the other party’s meaning so she quickly asked, “Then how can I meet him?”
The young man continued to say meaningfully, “You naturally have to cater to his preferences. He has unique tastes. First, you should change your clothes!"
Then, the young man waved a female employee over.
Winnie naturally seized the opportunity and followed the female employee into the club.
…
Winnie was dumbfounded as she looked at the white pleated dress she had changed into. It was short, and the neckline was low. She thought to herself angrily, ‘Is he messing with me?’
However, before she could give the young man a piece of her mind, he said temptingly, “He’s in room 2002. It’s just up ahead…”
In the end, Winnie endured it and followed the young man.
After entering the room, the man glanced at the empty bed before he shifted his gaze toward the locked bathroom door. Before Winnie could react, he looked at her naughty smile and said, “Just wait here. You’ll definitely meet him!”
After saying that, the young man quickly left, slamming the door shut behind him.
"Hey, why did you close the door?" Winnie asked as she looked around vigilantly.
…
On the other side of the door.
"Benjamin, why are you being so sneaky? Don’t you know that Mr. L suffers from severe insomnia? It’s over for you if you disturbed him!"
"Mr. L just got married, so I got him a big gift! He’s just been enlightened recently regarding the matters between men and women. I’m sure he won’t be able to resist it! He’ll definitely appreciate my gesture!” Benjamin said with a mischievous laugh.
…
In the room.
Winnie studied the luxurious room. Just as she decided to leave, the bathroom door suddenly opened. Since she was leaning against the door, her body fell forward and collided with something hard. She cried out in shock.
The other party instinctively held Winnie’s slender waist.
When Winnie looked up, her eyes widened in shock when she saw the beautiful man who had just gotten out of the bath.
The man in front of her was about 188 cm tall, and he possessed an imposing and trim figure.
‘He’s unbelievably handsome! What a perfect face!’
The man’s features were exquisite. His eyes were deep and dark, and he had a perfectly shaped nose and lips.
Winnie was stunned speechless by the man’s appearance.
Meanwhile, seeing that Winnie was blatantly staring at his face, the man subconsciously touched his face. At the same time, he narrowed his dark eyes.
