Mission steal the book accomplished
Savena's POV
Immediately Thalia left, the rest of the boys left as well. I stayed on the bed.
My gaze landed on Rhys. “What was that?” I asked calmly, staring at him with teary eyes.
Rhys just stared at me as though he had no idea what was going on.
I sighed. “Your sister came in, woke me up from sleep, nearly left me naked. And you won’t say anything about it,” I said, sitting on the bed.
Rhys just shook his head. “Thalia isn’t like that. She had a reason for doing that. I will find...”
I removed the duvet from my body,“isnt like what?,” I asked, staring into Rhys eyes, “Fuck her reason. Like can’t you fucking see, Rhys?” I snapped at him.
I scoffed as I ran my hand through my hair. “Your sister humiliated me, and you are telling me she had a fucking reason?” I bellowed, my eyes already red with anger.
Rhys stood with a stunned expression. I swallowed hard seeing him that way. I forgot I wasn’t supposed to let him see this side of me. But fuck it, this dude was gullible.
“I will go and get juice for you,” Rhys suddenly said as he walked sluggishly out of the room.
I sighed, then I climbed down from the bed, locked the door, and stood in the middle of the room as I connected to the neutral link.
“Hello, boss,” I murmured, placing my hand on my head.
“Yes, Savena, any news?” I heard Dr. Raymond's voice.
“There’s a problem,” I whispered, my eyes glued to the door.
“Speak,” Myles said. My breath hitched, I guessed he was in the lab as well.
“It’s Thalia. I think she found out about me not having a scent, and now she had informed the brothers about it,” I said as I breathed heavily, pacing the room.
The other side of the link stayed silent for a brief moment. Even though I had panicked, it’s just a matter of time before they found out what I was, and when they did? they would never let me go.
“How did that happen?” Dr. Raymond asked in a low voice.
“I don’t know. She had been so cautious and monitoring me since I came into the house,” I murmured, staring at the door. I hated that bitch so much.
I could hear Rhys’s long-distance steps. “Boss, I think I have to go now,” I whispered as I walked toward the door.
“Listen to me. Make sure you get the book today and leave the house immediately. Do you understand?” Myles was the one who spoke this time.
“Okay, master,” I whispered as I opened the door.
Rhys pulled the door open as well, making our gaze lock.
“Are you going out?” he asked, looking down at me.
Well, I wasn’t going out. I had just come to open the door for him, but would I tell him? No, never.
Without giving him a reply, I took the glass of juice from him and walked to the mini couch on the other side of the room.
“Savena,” Rhys called as he walked behind me. “I’m really sorry about what happened,” he uttered with a sad expression.
“You don’t have to be sorry. We both know where your heart belonged,” I whispered, sipping the cold pineapple juice.
Rhys exhaled heavily as he placed his cup down. Squatting in front of me, he placed his hand on my thigh while looking into my eyes.
“You know I would never forsake you, Savena,” he said with a serious gaze.
I scoffed as I tapped his hand away from my thigh. “Did you tell her what she did wasn’t right?” I asked, staring at his face. I placed my cup on the table.
He shook his head, making me glare at him. Then he placed his hand on mine. “I promise to talk to her once she's back,” he whispered, rubbing the back of my hand gently.
My curiosity sparked. “What do you mean when she is back?” I questioned as I rubbed his hand that rested on mine.
He smiled a little, then suddenly I saw a spark of gold in his eyes, making my eyes widen.
Oh no, this wasn’t good. Don’t tell me. But Rhys just kept quiet. Then he blinked hard, clutching my hand tightly.
“Rhys, look at me,” I said, tapping his face.
But he seemed like he was trying very hard to focus. “Where’s Thalia?” I asked the most important question, while massaging his head to ease his stress. But he just closed his eyes.
“She is with Blaze, training on the other side of the house,” Rhys murmured as he took his hand and placed it on his head.
“Shit!” Rhys murmured as he started breathing fast. I stared at him indifferently.
Blaze and Thalia were the only thing on my mind. They were in the other part of the house, which meant this was my chance.
I pulled Rhys up gently. “You need to rest,” I whispered as I took his hand toward the bed.
But he yanked his hand away. “Stay away from me, bitch,” I heard the familiar voice.
The same voice that put me in the situation of death.
Reena's angry voice.
My eyes widened when I realized Reena was taking over faster than I expected.
I rubbed my sweaty palm. I couldn’t let her ruin my fucking plan. I walked up to Rhys.
“I think you need to shower,” I whispered as I hugged his body, which felt hot and tense.
I pulled him gently until we got to the front of the restroom. “You let me go,” I heard Rhys, or should I say Reena’s weak voice.
Before she could pull away from me, I pushed her into the restroom, locking the door immediately.
I placed my hand on my racing heart. With Reena taking over Rhys, it would be hard for me to stay here.
I needed to make use of this opportunity. I quickly went to Rhys’s drawer and stole his master key.
Oh yes, that was one of the reasons I stayed in Rhys’s room, to monitor and keep note of things like this. I walked out of the room. I needed to find or distract the two brothers.
So I traced their scent until it brought me to the living room, where Milo lay on the couch. It seemed like he was sleeping.
And Jax was glued to the laptop on his thigh, so focused that he didn’t even notice my presence behind him.
“I think today is my lucky day,” I whispered as I tiptoed to the lair. I gently opened the door. The first place my eyes went to was the shelf where the book was kept.
My feet took me toward it slowly, making sure not to make a sound and at the same time keeping my ears alert in case anyone was coming.
I stretched as I grabbed the book. “Shit, it’s heavier than I thought,” I whispered as I hugged the book to my chest.
I walked out, locking the door. Of course, I didn’t plan on returning the fucking keys. But first I needed to get out of the house immediately.
I walked to the terrace. At least nobody came here regularly. Moreover, I couldn’t pass the front door because Jax was still awake, and I didn’t think I had another way.
And going back to Rhys’s room was a no because of that stupid Reena.
I placed my hand on my head, connecting to the neutral link.
“Hello, master,” I murmured, my eyes alert to my surroundings.
“Yes, Savena. Did you get the book?” Myles asked with a calm and smooth voice.
“Yes, master. I got the book, but coming out seemed a bit difficult,” I muttered, staring at my back every second.
My breath hitched when I perceived the scent of Reena. My eyes widened when I saw her downstairs walking to the other side of the house.
“You will pass through the back door. There will be a car waiting for you,” Myles said. I wanted to ask where the back door was when I heard another voice.
“Go to the long hallway and walk down to the last door you see,” Mathias instructed.
I blinked as I grabbed the book, making my way down to the last door. When I pulled the door open, it revealed a garden.
I frowned. “Did you see the garden?” I heard Mathias's voice.
“Yes,” I whispered, staring around. Then Mathias added, “Walk straight down. You will see a gate on your left,” he said.
Eventually, I got to the gate. I unlocked it with Rhys Master key. Then I pushed it open slowly. The fresh air and sun kissed my skin.
I breathed in relief. Finally, I was out of that stupid cage.
I walked to the other side of the street, where a black SUV car was parked.
I opened the back seat. “Good day, master,” I whispered with a bow before climbing into the car.
Myles just nodded at me. I handed him the book as the car zoomed off.
“Good job,” Myles murmured, staring at me for a brief moment. Then he shifted his gaze to Mathias.
“Alert the council that the new rebirth is Richard’s step daughter,” Myles said calmly.
“Okay, boss,” Mathias uttered as he continued driving.
The drive continued in silence, I rested my head on my hand as I stared outside the window lost in lost.
I wondered what other plan was going on in Myles’s head right now, but one thing was for sure, he was just using the council to distract the brothers from coming after him.
But what came after the council was known by Myles alone.
