Chapter 177 When the Past Knocks While You’re Pregnant
POV Maya:
“Are you that needy, my cowboy?” I tease, just to hear him growl—and I’m not disappointed when he does exactly that. “Don’t be like that. Later I’ll give you and your brothers a little tea.” I wink at him, and within seconds I’m pressed against his sweaty body.
“You like driving me crazy, don’t you?” he asks, his mouth a centimeter from mine.
“If it’s not to drive you and your brothers crazy, I don’t even get out of bed,” I smile, and he smiles back, leaving all fear and uncertainty behind.
“I love you, Maya.” He presses a kiss to my forehead and trails them across my face. When his lips touch mine, I close my eyes, happier than I’ve ever been in my life.
I give him a passionate kiss, and soon we’re surrounded by his brothers, each one making me feel loved and adored. Luca kisses my neck, Mikhail the side of my head, Adrian my shoulder, and Sebastian my forehead.
I don’t know what people see when we’re together, but I hope they see what I do.

Two years later.
I look like I’m about to explode at any moment. Why the hell did I fall for Sebastian’s trick that he would pull out before coming? I’m going to kill my pornographic romantic. I can’t even see my feet anymore—much less my pussy—and it’s all his fault. I don’t even want to think about where this baby is going to come out. After Adrian’s log, maybe the baby will slide out easily, I think, hopeful and delusional.
I’m sunbathing when I hear raised voices. In the same second, I get to my feet and go after my cowboys.
With my enormous belly, I find it a little difficult to move fast, but I feel proud for managing to waddle like a duck without having to take off my wonderful platform sandals. As soon as I step outside, I see red. Some men are on top of my cowboys, hitting them—when I’m the only one allowed to beat the shit out of them.
“What the fuck!” I shout, already kicking off my sandal. “You assholes, get your hands off my men!” I roar the way my wild caveman taught me.
“Maya, fuck, are you naked?” Is that seriously what Dominic is worried about? “You’re pregnant. Do you want to put our child at risk, for fuck’s sake?” He scoops me up in his arms, and I want to hit him with my sandal.
“Don’t yell at me, you caveman,” I order, wanting to throw myself at the idiots still on top of Sebastian and Mikhail.
“We’re sorry,” one of the morons says, but I don’t even bother looking at him. I’m worried about Mikhail’s cheek, which is slightly red. “My brothers are worked up because you used to date our woman, and they’re a little possessive.”
What?
I turn my face toward the woman in the wheelchair and know I’m about to get arrested for murder.
“Wait a minute—you’re Scarlett?” I ask, just to make sure I’m going to kill the right person. I don’t want to make a mistake. Dominic would kill me if I made our baby grow up without a mother because I murdered the wrong woman.
“Yes,” she answers, signing her own sentence. “And you are?”
Her question makes me laugh out loud. I pull my hair into a bun, ready to visit a police station again. Deep down, I always knew I wouldn’t have just one record.
“I’m Maya. And I’m going to end you.”
I don’t think much about what I’m doing. I just act on impulse, thinking about how badly Sebastian suffered because of her, how long it took him to believe that I loved him, about the traumas that bitch left in him—and I punch her in the face. Hoping the pain I’m causing is at least one percent of the pain I know she caused him.
I tried to find this woman in the past to settle things with her, but I couldn’t. A few months after I had given up, while going through Sebastian’s things, I found her phone number. I called a few times just to at least curse her out, but she never answered. And now she has no idea what a mistake she made by coming here.
“Maya!” Sebastian shouts at me, and my eyes immediately fill with tears when I see him worried about her.
Worried about the woman who hurt him.
A pain in my chest makes me fall silent, afraid that this woman has shown up to destroy my family, to hurt Sebastian even more. Where the hell is Louis when I need him? Did he really have to go into town with my in-laws?
“It’s okay, Sebastian, I’m fine,” she says.
I don’t like the way she talks to him. I don’t like that Sebastian listens to her after everything. And I hate seeing the intimacy they so clearly still share.
“I’m fine, Damian,” she adds, and one of the idiots leans over and kisses her on the mouth.
“She punched you, Scarlett,” he says, his voice full of anger at me. I don’t give a fuck—I just want him gone, along with that curse of a woman. “It’s going to swell. We’d better leave.”
“Not yet. I need to talk to them,” she says, looking at my men. Mine.
I’m going to kill her.
“Let me go, Dominic. Let me go now, fuck!” Dominic tightens his arms around me, blinding me with rage. “You caveman, I hate you,” I lie.
“You don’t hate shit,” he throws back at me, because the son of a bitch knows I love him and carry a truckload of filth for him and his brothers.
“Maya,” the bitch calls me, and I want to lunge at her. “Can you talk to me?”
Is she playing with me?
I grow even more irritated and feel a pain in my lower abdomen.
“What’s your deal? What are you doing here? Not satisfied with everything you did, so you came back to make it worse?” I fire questions at her. “If that’s it, I won’t allow it.” I say, and she smiles.
“You must drive Dominic and Luca crazy.”
Of course I do—but she doesn’t need to know that.
“Maya, do you know Burt?”
David dork Burt? Of course I know that wonderful human being who helped my cowboys get some sense into their thick heads and chase after me at the airport.
“Scarlett!”
“Bitch!”
I glance sideways at Luca and Dominic, not liking their fury directed at Scarlett. I’m the bitch for Luca, and Dominic only gets to roar like that at me. For anyone else, he has to use a normal tone of voice.
Another stab of pain in my lower abdomen makes me want to punch Sebastian.
Whatever is happening to me, it’s his fault.
“I know him,” I say with a smile, remembering the time my friend helped me make the cowboys jealous. “A perfect gentleman. Once he helped me when my car mysteriously broke down in the middle of nowhere.”
Ah, how refreshing that day was. David and the Collins helped me stir up a little jealousy in my cowboys after a misunderstanding at Celeste’s bar. I still miss the orgasms I lost that night. Was that the night I fell for Sebastian’s trick?
“Maya, don’t start, fuck,” Mikhail says, and I roll my eyes at his ridiculous jealousy.
When is he going to stop? David is very happily married to my friend and Sean—and he’s also one of our wedding godparents.
“Can we talk?” she asks again.
If she wants to be in a closed space with me, who am I to deny myself my best chance to kill her?
“Of course we can,” I reply brightly, already thinking about how I’m going to get rid of her body after I rip out her heart—just like she almost did to Sebastian’s.
