Blissful Moments part 2

Blissful Moments part 2
Scarlett’s Point of View

I've made a decision. As much as I wanted to make peace with it, there's this indescribable heaviness in my stomach, like I've made the wrong decision and at some point in my life, I'm going to regret it. I truly held onto the hope of the love Asher and I shared, but deep within me, I was well aware that love wasn't enough. Asher was blinded by love, and at some point, he'd start regretting his decision too.

But when he does, will I be strong enough to walk away? My heart and soul are already exhausted. Will I have the strength to pick up the pieces of my broken heart again?

But what if our love is actually enough? Maybe it would survive everything, and we'd actually be happy together.

I exhaled deeply, resting my head against the couch. The television flickered in front of me, and the hotel room was a big mess. It had been a week since the last time I met Asher. He called me from morning to evening, and we'd chat. As much as I wanted to leave, I couldn't break his heart. He doesn't deserve to feel the same way I feel. It's too unbearable.

The sound of the doorbell ringing brought me out of my daze. My brows furrowed as I got up from the couch and started making my way to the door. I wrapped my fingers around the handle before swinging it open.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw Asher at the entrance, a smile stretched on his lips as his eyes landed on me. He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me closer to him, resting his head on my shoulder. "I missed you, Sweetheart," his voice was low and deep with emotions. Butterflies fluttered in my stomach, melting into his firm and protective arms, a smile stretching on my lips.

His embrace was too welcoming, like a warmth seeping through my bones. It felt like my perfect home, the only place I wanted to be for the rest of my life was in his arms. I closed my eyes, letting the fragrance of his mint cologne fill my nostrils, so addictive and welcoming.

I tried to break free from Asher’s embrace, but he didn't let me go. I let out a chuckle. “Asher, won't you come in?" My voice was barely above a whisper. He released me from his arms, his eyes now locking with mine, a heat spread across my cheeks, unable to avert his intense gaze. He lifted his finger to my face, stroking my cheek softly.

“You drive me to the brink of madness, and I love every second of it." My pulse raced at his words, our eyes locking into an intense stare. A chuckle escaped Asher’s lips. “I can't believe you are mine, not because I own you, but because you are the queen who has the key to my heart." I couldn't utter a word, but stare into his eyes.

Seeing so much love for him was scary, like it was all a dream, and someone was going to come and wake me up, and I wouldn't be able to face my harsh reality. The truth is, I was afraid of such happiness.

“I have a surprise for you." He entwined my fingers into his, leading me to the couch, while a group of guards walked inside the room with a huge bag and two more smaller bags, placing them gently on the couch.

My brows furrowed. “What's all this, Asher?" My lips parted as he placed a soft kiss on my cheek.

“Go and get ready, Sweetheart. I have a surprise for you." He whispered in my ear. I couldn't help but chuckle like a teenager in love. Of course, I've never experienced such love before, and I don't even know how to react.

I grabbed the bags before I rushed to the room, placing the bag on the bed. I rushed to the bathroom and took a quick shower before I stepped out, a towel now wrapped around my body.

I flung the big bag open, a gasp escaped my lips as my eyes landed on a beautiful princess dress. It was white with diamonds all over it. This has been my dream since I was a teenager. How did he know about it? My heart raced with anticipation. Did he actually read my diary? But where did he get it? I left it in Cape Park in my hometown before we came to the city. Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

A smile stretched across my lips as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. This is exactly how I'd imagined myself when I was a teenager. I couldn't believe my teenage dream was halfway coming true.

A gasp escaped my lips as my eyes landed on the path created by red roses, leading outside. Asher was nowhere to be seen. I followed the path, all eyes turned to me as I walked down the corridor until I reached outside. My heart pounded in my chest, like a drumbeat in my ears as my eyes landed on Asher. He was on the horse, the moon illuminated him, making him look exactly like how I'd imagined my prince charming.

“Asher." I called out his name, covering my mouth with my hands. I couldn't believe that he was bringing my silly fantasy to life. I'd never imagined I'd get to watch this day right in front of my eyes, like a fairy tale.

“Take my hand, princess, and let me shower you with all my love." I chuckled, tears of joy welling up in my eyes. I walked over to him, placing my hand in his, and he helped me climb behind him, wrapping my arms around his waist.

“Where did you get my diary?" I couldn't help but ask as Asher guided the stallion's rhythmic gait, my arms wrapped tightly around his waist, with the cold night wind whipping through our hair together.

“That's my little secret, but you should know one thing. I'd do anything for your happiness." I couldn't help but laugh, excitement coursing through me. I couldn't help but wonder what surprise he had for me.

“Your laughter is like a soft melody to my ears, Sweetheart. You should laugh more often." My heart raced at his words. It finally hit me. I don't actually remember the last time I laughed out of joy, without faking it. Maybe my decision was not so wrong as much as I thought.
