Chapter 63: Blood is thicker than water

Reene’s pov

“How can you betray your brother like that?” I asked him and he rolled his eyes.

“I wouldn’t have had you not come into his life, all you had to do was mind your own business, but you just had to win him over.

My brother is nothing but a wuss thanks to you.

Now move or your friend dies” he said leading me to his car.

I got in and he started driving away,

“don’t be so shocked, mothers kill their own husbands for power. Friends betray each other, its just the world we live in” he said as a matter of fact like it didn’t matter at all.

He just betrayed his brother, the same brother who went above and beyond for them.

Maybe they didn’t have that sibling bond that people talk about, but they are blood.

How could he betray them like that? What happened to blood is thicker than water?

Is that really even true, if you cant trust your own blood then who can you trust?

“Why?” I asked him an d he knew exactly what I meant by that.

“Why else? For immortality, you don’t know your husband very well, but I do. I watched him kill thousand of people who tried to get in the way of his immortality. I only learned from him to do whatever it takes” he answered and then after some time he spoke again.

“Save your questions when you get there, trust me you will have a lot of them” he said and then I looked outside.

There wasn’t even a single star, the sky was covered in black cloud.

As if the sky was ready to cry at any second, I always liked the rain.

Its only fit that the same partner that kept me company is the one to escort me to my death.

Dying in the rain, there is something oddly poetic about it, isn’t there?

He stopped the car in the middle of nowhere and looked at me.

“This will be your grave, I guess you really were destined to die young” he said shaking his head.

We got out of the car and Amber appeared with a huge grin on her face.

So that guy is now working with Amber, Connor is also working with Amber.

How will I tell Logan about all of this?

How do I warn him that his brother is also trying to kill him?

“Welcome to your grave” Amber said with a smile.

“All you have to do now is just die in peace and let everyone else around you live on” Sara said coming from behind a tree.

“You as well, I am not surprised about that. You were always a bitch just like Amber, I see why the likes of you would associate with someone like her” I said, and she only chuckled at this.

“I won’t take offence at all, after all those are just words from a dead woman” she said with a smirk.

“Let Viola go free, and you can kill me all you want” I said, and they all started laughing.

“You are here to save your precious friend aren’t you?” Amber asked me and her eyes landed on Sara.

“You really shouldn’t have been born; your life is so sad. You are nothing but an abomination” her father also appeared.

What are they?

Cockroaches?

They keep coming out one by one.

Like it’s a beauty contest, and the smiles on their faces makes me sick.

How can people smile like that knowing that they are about to take a life?

“Is this because you know you aren’t the strongest witch? Are you that threatened by me? By the fact that Lewis actually has feelings for me?” I asked Sara who nodded.

“Yes but it won’t matter, I don’t need his love, but I also don’t want him to love you. Its me or no one else” she said with a smirk.

“Cut the crap, where is my friend?” I asked them and Amber smirked.

“I actually do feel sorry for you, come out Viola” Amber said and looked behind her.

Vickie and Viola came behind a tree, I was about to run to her when Sara stood in front of me.

“No, you don’t, trust me you don’t want to do that” she said but I just rolled my eyes at her.

“Viola are you okay? I didn’t know that they even took Vickie, I am so sorry I involved you in this mess

. Let them go and do what you want with me.

You want to kill me right? so let them go and get it over and done with” I said, and Amber took out a knife.

Instead of coming to me she gave it to Viola who looked at me with tears in her eyes.

“I am sorry, but you are linked to the man who killed my parents” she said.

She looked down on the ground, something she does when she feels guilty.

Vickie is here and if they were prisoners they would have been tied up or something.

“They didn’t take you by force, you came here yourself. Is it to kill me? Why?” I asked her and she looked up.

“Blood is thicker than water, I wont allow my mother and father’s deaths to be in vain. I wont allow him to roam free” Viola replied.

I didn’t know what else to say but my eyes landed on Connor.

Is this what he meant when he said to save my questions for later?

“You are the one who freed him in the first place, and then you went and fell in love with him. You betrayed me first so don’t look at me like that” she added.

Honestly I don’t have any questions now, I am too speechless to even have questions.

I guess he was wrong.

“don’t feel guilty at all, in killing her you will be freeing the world from the devil. The devil that terrorised this world” Amber said.

I wanted to scream at the top of my lungs and tell them that Logan was nothing but Amber’s puppet.

That she has been using him the same way she is using them.

“If you tell them anything I will kill them” that voice said and this time he was standing next to me.

He had a smirk on his face, “let’s wait for a few minutes, if they love each other so much then they should both die next to each other” he said.

“Reene” I heard Logan’s voice and I turned around to find him running towards me.

That man, the one who called me his bride put a knife on my neck.

“One more step and she dies, don’t you have any final goodbyes?” he asked with a smirk.

“Ohhh and yes I am the one who freed him from that spell you casted earlier.

He cant miss the show, after all you guys are the main act” Lucas said.

“Your best friend will kill you, and your lover will watch” Amber said with a smile.

Viola started walking closer to me, I quickly took the knife that was in my pocket.

“I wont let you live with the guilt of killing me and I wont take you with me” I said before pushing with all my power the knife to my heart.

“Reene no, no” Logan said running to me and I smiled.

It hurts, everything hurts, “it doesn’t hurt at all” I said to him.

I looked at his chest and he wasn’t bleeding, I was right, it is as Amber said.

Back then I wanted to live which is why I was linked to him.

The only way to unlink is for me to want to die, so I will die so that he can live.

My husband will have more time on this world to live on.

Logan’s pov

What is happening, why am I not feeling any pain?

Why isn’t my heart bleeding?

I should be dying with her but why am I not?

“I can’t believe it; in the end she didn’t want to take you with her. She loved you until the end” Lucas said clearly furious.

“I am so sorry Reene” her little friend who betrayed her said trying to touch her.

“If you touch her I swear I will kill you” I said, and she walked away.

“Why? I told you that I wanted to die for you, then why? Why did you die for me? you wanted to live right?” I asked her and she smiled.

“Yes and I am alive, you and I are one.

As long as you are alive I will be as well, I will be standing by your side.

I will be seeing what you see, so please, please live on” she said.

They did this to her; they killed my wife, and I will make sure that the world knows my wrath.

How can they take her away from me just like that?

Reene wasn’t meant to die; Reene can’t be dead this isn’t true.

I know I am holding her in my arms right now, but there has to be some kind of mistake.

My Reene cant be dead, she deserved to live on more than anyone in this world.

So why would someone like that die?
