CHAPTER EIGHTY-SIX
LUCIAN'S P.O.V
A growl erupted from me unconsciously as soon as I heard that voice. I straightened up and turned to face him and there he was. Still looking the same, except for his hair which he had cut a bit close to his scalp. He was dressed casually in a pair of black jeans, black shirt and a black leather jacket. His face had that grim, serious expression it always had whenever I saw him.
"Aurora? Is that you?" His face changed slightly, a tilt of his lips as his eyes zeroed on her, completely ignoring me.
"Alpha Kieran. Hey again...it's nice to see you...again." She chuckled softly while staring up at him, occasionally glancing nervously at me.
He walked closer, his eyes shinning. I glanced behind him and let out a relieved breath. He didn't bring his men with him, thank goodness.
"I never thought I would see you again...so soon. You look different." He was staring her up and down like a strange object he just became fascinated with. "Not a bad different though. A nice one."
"Really?" She laughed softly and brushed a white lock of hair behind her ears which I could see had gone red. Was she blushing? With an annoyed grunt, I moved to stand in between them, crossing my arms across my chest.
"Ahem!"
His eyes went hard and his lips pressed into a thin line.
"Lucian." He growled.
"Kieran." I growled back at him, not taking my eyes off him, the muscles in his neck moved as he stared back at me.
"What are you doing here?"
"Keeping my mate away from you."
He let out a snarl and moved a step closer.
"That's not what I meant. What the hell are you doing in my pack?"
I bristled and let out my own snarl, barring my teeth while stepping closer till we were almost nose to nose.
"Do I look like I want to be here?"
"I don't give a fuck if you want be here or not. I don't want you here."
"Neither do I, so bite me. Trust me, this annoys me more than its annoying you."
"Wanna bet?" He sneered.
I opened my mouth to answer but then Aurora suddenly moved and drew me back, placing herself between us, her face pale with worry as she glanced at the two of us.
"Can you guys please stop? You're both acting immature, okay?"
"Huh? Immature?"
Kieran choked on his words as he stared at her, his mouth agape and his eyes wife. Shock was written over his face as he stared at her. I couldn't hide the pleased chuckle as I watched her with pride. That's my girl. Finally, someone gave him attitude.
"Aurora, you..."
"What?" I mocked him. "Are you shocked because she can speak to you like this now?"
He glared at me but then looked at her again, she was biting her lips but her eyes stared back at him with determination.
"She's like an alpha now, didn't you notice the hair and eyes? Moron!" I scoffed.
"Lucian, cut it out." She snapped at me, I put my hand up in surrender.
"I'm sorry, Alpha Kieran. If you think I'm acting disrespectful. But right now I...I mean we, need your help. Will you help us?"
He stared at her for a while, I noticed that the glint in his eyes seemed to be shinning even brighter. I didn't like that at all. He swallowed and nodded.
"As long as its to help you, what do you need?"
She sighed, letting a smile on her face. Why was she smiling at him? I growled but she glared at me making me stop immediately.
"Can you let us stay in your pack for the time being?"
"Yes."
"Really?" Oh, thank you..."
"But only you...not him." He glared at me, I bristled again and glared at him.
"Fine. If I'm not staying then she isn't either. Let's go, Aurora." I grabbed her hand but he suddenly reached out and grabbed her other hand.
"Leave her alone."
"Excuse me?" I glared at the hand he was using to hold her. My teeth grounded against each other as I gritted out, feeling anger course through me.
"Get. Your. Hand. Off her. Now."
"You let her go first."
"I won't, she's my mate."
"You're obviously not yet mated so let go."
"I won't." I growled at him, I felt my eyes going black and my wolf ready to take over.
"Stop it! Stop this right now. Both of you."
She grunted and pushed us away, we moved a step back without taking our eyes off each other. I shortly felt her soft hands on mine.
"Lucian. Hey, calm down. We're not going to get his help if you keep on being a dick. Okay, we need his help. So please, behave. At least for me. Let me do the talking okay?"
I stared down at her, she was staring at me with intense eyes, her hands on mine, strong and steady. Slowly, I let out a breath, feeling myself going back in control.
"Fine. I'll try not to say anything again. But if he starts it then don't blame me."
"Try to hold it in." She squeezed my hand for a second before letting go and turning back to face him.
"Ha ha! Sorry about that. I apologize on his behalf, we started off to a wrong start. Sorry."
He shook his head slightly, a tight smile directed to her.
"It's okay, sorry for indulging."
"Right, so as I was saying. Please let us stay in your pack for the time being."
"And I still stand on what I said, I can let you in gladly but I won't let him. He can go find somewhere else to stay."
I snorted and muttered under my breath.
"Of course that's what you will wish for, you pervert."
She turned and hissed at me, her eyes narrowed before turning back to face him.
"Sorry about that. Can you please reconsider your stance? We need your help."
He shook his head, glaring at me again.
"No. I'm sorry. I can do anything you want but...not this one."
She nodded and slumped her shoulders, staring off into the distance.
"Alright. If you say so. Thanks for your kind offer but if he's not allowed here,, then I'm not stayinV
."
