Chapter 40 Prince’s Arrival

Chapter 40 Prince’s Arrival
I saw her touch her burned face lightly.

I was about to go near her mirror when we both heard a noise from above.

My eyes almost widened when I saw everything starting to freeze.

Before I could say the name of the vampire responsible for what I was seeing, we were surprised again when the door burst open roughly, letting in the three vampires from earlier.

“This is not good, Tatiana. There are wolves around our castle! The Lancasters have crossed Avirife! Even the crazy prince of Aetherio is with them. They might reach father soon!”

I looked at the painting of the vampire, which was slowly moving again to hide the mirror.

“Father is on a far island. We can handle this while he’s away. Send out the soldiers, kill those bold ones who want to enter our palace.”

I frowned more at what I heard from her. Father? Kill? Wolves? Are they talking about Idris? How did they know I’m here? Did Kaizer ask them for help? But that’s impossible.

“These vampires are strong, Tatiana, no joke! Not even that wolf pack can match them. Idris is with them!” one of the male vampires said loudly.

Tatiana pushed her hair back casually, like she wasn’t worried that the Lancasters might show up in front of us any moment.

“Are you losing faith in this palace’s power? We have trained warriors, we have far more strong vampires than them. Don’t worry, they’re on our turf. Things are going our way.”

The three vampires just sighed at what Tatiana said.

“I’ll fight outside. It’s been a long time since I last fought a Lancaster.”

I didn’t say anything more when one of the male vampires winked at me before leaving.

Two stayed inside the room to guard both of us and Tatiana.

“Why aren’t you helping outside?” Tatiana asked.

I just stayed quiet, thinking about what I can do when Kaizer and I meet. I can already feel his presence, he’s getting closer and closer.

“Because I’m sure the bigger enemy will come here first, to this room.”

As the man said this, the big window I was looking out of earlier suddenly opened.

The most handsome man I’ve ever seen in my life stood before my eyes. Even the way he stood screamed strength.

He had no trouble standing on the huge black bird flying in the air. Even his messy black hair, slightly blown by the wind, left me staring. I unconsciously touched my chest, I was having trouble breathing. My heart was beating so hard it felt like it wanted to jump out of my chest.

Kaizer jumped easily from behind the huge bird into the room.

I didn’t know how to meet his eyes.

The blushing eyes of Wisteria’s second prince were now staring at me.

The two vampires immediately blocked us so Kaizer couldn’t get close.

“Too bad, but she’s not coming with you.”

A table suddenly flew toward Kaizer and almost hit him. But he was alert and blocked it with his hard ice.

He started walking slowly as big objects kept flying toward him, none hit him because ice protected him.

I was surprised when more vampires blocked him, all charging at Kaizer who just stood calmly waiting for them to come to him.

Princess Tatiana and I both gasped when sharp ice pierced the bodies of the vampires who charged at Kaizer. We both sighed in relief when the real vampire wasn’t hit.

“My brothers are still babies. Let me do this.”

Tatiana blocked me. Kaizer looked at his ice, which was now melting because of the Princess’s power.

She’s too powerful for Kaizer. The snow prince can’t beat her.

“Go back, Kaizer. I won’t go with you anymore.”

He stopped walking when he heard me.

“You heard it? Let her live normally in the world where she belongs. Don’t bother her life anymore, vampire.”

I noticed Kaizer’s eyes turn even redder. Fire suddenly flared around Kaizer to stop him from moving closer.

Fire is one of the weaknesses of Kaizer’s power.

“Wrong move, vampire, you’ll turn to ash,” Princess Tatiana warned.

“Princess–”

The Princess raised her hand to stop me from objecting to what she was doing.

“Don’t you know who you’re dealing with?” Kaizer asked Princess Tatiana coldly.

The princess stepped back slightly when the circle of fire around Kaizer suddenly froze. His eyes stayed red, and when he slowly raised his hand, the princess was suddenly thrown far away. I saw her body stuck between ice and the palace wall as she cried out in pain.

I was also surprised to see the two vampires holding their chests. How did Kaizer get this strong? Princess Tatiana is way more powerful than Aetherio’s king, who could stop Kaizer before.

“I won’t hesitate to freeze the hearts of any bold vampires who kept my Saera away from me.”

I couldn’t keep up with what I was seeing when I felt his right hand touching my cheek while the other stroked my neck.

His blushing eyes stared at me gently. I closed my eyes when his finger lightly touched my lips.

“Did they touch my Saera?”
