Chapter 10 Rivalrous Princes
I'm still riding on Randall's horse while he's leading another horse carrying the unconscious Kaizer. Travis is doing the same with the unconscious man from Aetherio, the kingdom we're going to. If I'm not mistaken, they call him Gavin.
"Are they always this rough with each other? They really hurt each other."
I want to nudge Kaizer to see if he's okay, but I don't know how.
"Don't worry, Saera, they won't die from lightning. Kaizer will wake up soon," Travis replies to me.
"What if they both wake up at the same time? They'll start again," Randall says, laughing.
"Is there a reason for their fight? They seem to hate each other a lot."
I noticed it right away in the way Gavin greeted Kaizer.
"It's a small thing," Travis says, shrugging.
Travis and Gavin's horses are in front of us now.
"The annoying prince of Aetherio can't accept that Kaizer can match him in the number of female fans, even though he doesn't have abilities like him."
I just grimace at Travis's answer. So even in the vampire world, women are still the reason for men's fights.
"Such a small thing."
I just nod at what Randall says.
"So, can I say that this man is our enemy?" I ask Randall and Travis again.
"No, only he and Kaizer are enemies. But we never trust this man. He's often a traitor to everything," Randall quickly replies to me.
Wouldn't it be better to just leave him then? Even though I'm wondering, I just nod again and stay quiet for the next few minutes. But soon I notice Kaizer's body moving on the other horse.
"Oh boy Travis, the prince of snow is waking up. You—"
Randall doesn't finish his sentence when a fist hits his face, sending him flying into the distance.
What the hell?
I just feel the arms of the prince of snow gently wrap around my waist.
"You don't touch my girl, Randall."
I quickly slap Kaizer's arms.
"Randall is your brother! Why are you so violent, Kaizer?!"
I hit his arms on me several times. I don't like this fanged man's attitude.
"Stop the horse," I say coldly.
"What? Do you like Randall more than me? What did he do to you while I was asleep?"
My brow furrows even more at what the prince of snow is saying. Fuck. He's so jealous. Damn, should I be happy or scared?
"I said stop this horse!"
Kaizer immediately pulls the horse's reins, so it stops. I also hear Randall’s and Gavin's horse stop running.
"Let's wait for Randall. Apologize to him."
He gapes at what I say.
"What the fuck?! Saera, he touched you. I don't like others touching you."
My eyebrow arches even more. Doesn't he remember what happened? The carriage I was riding in was split in half because of his temper. As far as I remember, his brothers just helped me, that's why they touched me.
"I'm just riding this horse because I don't have a ride. Do you know why?! Because you split it in two! God Kaizer, you can't just punch every man who gets close to me. I don't like that attitude of yours."
I slap his hand again when he tries to touch me.
"Saera..." he whispers from behind me.
I ignore him. And I just roll my eyes when I see Travis facing us, grinning and whistling slightly as if he's enjoying what's happening to us.
"Randall! Welcome back."
I even see Travis slightly wave at the approaching Randall riding the horse that the prince of snow just left behind.
"Fuck you, Kaizer!"
When Randall's horse passes us, it immediately stops beside us, maybe to get back at Kaizer, but my eyes widen when a crystal ice quickly appears between us and Randall's horse.
Kaizer immediately disappears from behind me, and I see him standing on the other side of the ice.
I see Randall's shocked reaction as Kaizer's mouth slowly opens. What is he saying? And as the ice between our horses slowly melts, I feel Kaizer's arm around my waist again.
"Did I hear that right? Son of a bitch," Randall says, shaking his head, then running his horse. Even Travis in front shakes his head.
"The fanged man apologized," I say, grinning.
I feel him put his chin on my right shoulder.
"Never," he whispers softly.
Lying vampire.
"Uhuh? Love melts the snow," Randall says, laughing.
"Completely melted," Travis quickly replies, also laughing.
"Fuck off," Kaizer says, irritated.
He speeds up the horse we're riding until it's only a short distance from his two brothers.
"Fuck. Why is that trash still with us?"
Gavin is still asleep.
"Maybe you killed him, Randall," I say, worried.
My eyes immediately narrow when four consecutive snowballs hit the man's body.
"Kaizer! Why are you so violent?!"
He just pouts at me. Soon, Gavin's body starts to move. He almost falls off his horse before he figures out what position he's in.
"Where's the prince of snow?!"
He's now in a fighting stance.
"I'm here Gavin, do you want me to finish you off?"
Instead of answering him, Gavin stares at me. But I just close my eyes when three consecutive snowballs hit Gavin's face again.
"Don't look at her," Kaizer's voice is very irritated.
"You shameless Kaizer!"
Gavin quickly removes the remaining ice from his face. I thought he was going to turn away from us, but I just grimace when he puts his horse next to the horse Kaizer and I are riding.
Kaizer's two brothers, who are alertly glancing at these two vampires, are still in front of us.
"What's your purpose in Aetherio, Kaizer? Maybe you need my help."
My eyebrow raises again. How can he and Kaizer help each other?
"No, thanks," Kaizer replies coldly.
"Ask him where Dimitri's mansion is in Aetherio, it will take us longer if we still have to look for him," Travis interrupts.
It's better if he asks him now, because I don't want this long journey anymore.
"So Dimitri is your purpose, why?" Gavin asks.
I still feel him glancing at me. Damn.
"You're still so talkative, Gavin," Kaizer replies to him.
"I know where he's staying now. I can tell it if you'll introduce me to this beautiful deity."
I feel Kaizer's arms tighten around my waist. This isn't good again.
"Gavin," Kaizer's brothers call the vampire who's making the prince of snow angry at the same time.
"Kaizer..." I gently touch Kaizer's arms to calm him down.
Why is this vampire's power ice? It should be fire like his head that heats up quickly.
I hear Gavin chuckle slightly. "I know her name, Saera Yvaine Merriley..."
