Chapter 380 Sacrificing the Younger Brothers
Chapter 380 Sacrificing the Younger Brothers
Philip had just reached the door.
He nearly stumbled from being startled by Richard's sudden remark.
"What? You're so shameless! How can you even crash my dinner plans?"
Richard picked up his jacket that was casually draped over the chair.
"Cut the crap. I'll pay for it. Are you letting me come or not?"
Philip covered his mouth, secretly laughing. "Sure, I'll let you. I've already picked the restaurant - forty-eight thousand dollars per person. We'll randomly select a lucky guest! That's you!"
"The Best Actor winner is actually stealing someone else's endorsement deal."
The more he talked, the more embarrassed Richard felt.
Better to explain everything when they meet.
At the restaurant's private room.
Outside the window, a small bridge over flowing water. The room was elegantly decorated, and professional musicians were playing on the restaurant's bridge.
Sophia took off her sunglasses and walked into the private room, immediately spotting Richard sitting next to Philip.
She rolled her eyes and found a seat.
Richard touched his nose and started explaining about the endorsement deal.
Sophia said casually, "For Ms. Windsor's sake, I'll let it go this time."
She knew what Richard was like, understood his personality - she was just simply annoyed!
"As for the Quinn Couture endorsement... if you plan to compete for it, it'll probably still go to you. After all, Quinn really admires you."
After all, that was Catherine's business.
She'd be sliced up and thrown into a hot pot by the boss!
Richard was a bit confused.
"I haven't even met Quinn yet. I heard Quinn was supposed to attend a fashion show last time but unfortunately I didn't get to meet her."
How could a designer he'd never met choose him as spokesperson?
Sophia smiled meaningfully.
"How about we make a bet? If you really do get chosen, you have to do me a favor! Consider it interest for this compensation!"
If he could get the Quinn Couture endorsement, it would be mutually beneficial for Richard too.
His agent wouldn't be so anxious if they weren't interested in Quinn's fashion influence.
"Fine, I agree. Whether Quinn gives me the endorsement or not, as long as it's within my power and doesn't involve meeting with number four, I'll agree to it."
If it required meeting Philip, that would be breaking the law!
In other words, as long as it wasn't illegal and Richard could do it, he would agree.
Sophia's smile brightened a bit.
Philip shuddered, somehow sensing a sour smell in the air...
"Sophia, aren't you going to compete for Quinn's endorsement?"
Female celebrities in the industry are probably fighting tooth and nail for the Quinn Couture endorsement, right?
Sophia said righteously, "Not me. If I endorsed Quinn Couture, I wouldn't get a single cent. No way, not doing it."
Catherine would love to squeeze every last bit of value out of her - she wasn't going to endorse Quinn Couture!
Philip said in surprise, "This is the first time I've seen someone not interested in a Quinn Couture endorsement. Sophia, you're really something!"
Sophia shrugged.
As a founding shareholder, why would she use money from her own pocket to endorse herself?
Only an idiot would do that!
The Evergreen Group, downstairs café.
Gabriella sat in the café, drinking glass after glass of ice water.
The ice cubes in the glass radiated coldness, gradually calming her mood.
Until nightfall, when the window was painted with deep evening colors, the person she was waiting for still hadn't come.
The server reminded her, "Miss, we're closing soon. If you need to, you can sit on the chairs outside."
"Okay, thank you."
Just as she walked out of the café, Gabriella saw a man coming out of the Evergreen Group.
Behind him were bright lights. Charles looked refreshingly elegant, like moonlight on the horizon.
Beside him was a fashionably dressed woman carrying a delicate little basket, talking to Charles.
The woman in an embroidered powder-blue dress looked up at Charles.
"Mr. Charles Windsor, Mrs. Aurora Windsor told me you were working overtime. I hope my impromptu visit isn't too much of an interruption?"
Charles glanced sideways at Gabriella waiting by the roadside, his expression cold and distant.
"Ms. Kate, I don't know what my mother said that made you come all this way. I'm really sorry."
This Emma was the blind date Aurora had previously arranged for Charles.
Her family background was on par with the Windsor family.
As major families, if the Kate family could form a marriage alliance with the Windsor family, it would benefit both sides more than not.
Emma politely handed over the gift in her hand.
"If Mr. Charles Windsor doesn't mind, let's be friends. I made this little thing with my mom. Mrs. Aurora Windsor was there too, and when she mentioned Mr. Charles Windsor, my mom asked me to bring this food box."
Put that way, Charles couldn't refuse what Emma was offering.
Taking the box, Charles looked at Gabriella and said apologetically, "Sorry, I have plans tonight. I'll treat Ms. Kate to dinner next time."
Emma also noticed Charles's gaze and followed it, also seeing Gabriella holding a bouquet of flowers.
"So you have a date with a beauty. Then I was presumptuous. But my family is pressing urgently. If Mr. Windsor is willing, as compensation for my wasted trip, could you help me deal with my family next time?"
Emma raised an eyebrow. "Mr. Windsor doesn't need to invest any feelings, just appear at a few dinners together."
Charles subtly declined Emma's proposal.
"Ms. Kate, I don't like doing things that cause misunderstandings. Even if it's just to appease family, it would essentially create some misunderstandings."
Emma was a bit surprised.
"Mr. Windsor is a businessman, yet you'd give up something mutually beneficial because of feelings?"
"Of course not, so as compensation, I have two single younger brothers, also from the Windsor family. Ms. Kate can choose either one."
The Windsor family children were all elite.
Whoever it was would help the Kate family's business develop better.
Emma quickly agreed.
"Alright, deal."
"But whether they agree isn't my problem."
"If I get rejected by the Windsor family one after another, I might need plastic surgery. But since Mr. Windsor won't cooperate with me, then..."
Emma smiled, taking back the food box from Charles's hands.
"This can't be wasted, better save it for the next person!"
"...Of course."
This was the first time Charles had encountered someone taking back something they'd given him...
This Emma really was a born businesswoman!
After dealing with Emma, Charles walked toward Gabriella.
As he walked over, he took off his suit jacket and draped it over Gabriella's shoulders.
"Sorry for the wait. I had a few extra international meetings just now. I thought you might have left already."
Feeling the strong scent that belonged to Charles enveloping her, Gabriella shook her head.
"Since I promised to come see you, I wouldn't leave first."
Charles laughed softly, so faint it was almost inaudible.
"Is that so? I thought you wouldn't care about promises."
"Or perhaps, you do care about promises, but what you don't care about... is actually me?"
