Chapter 224: Crazy for Her

Chapter 224: Crazy for Her

The private room fell into silence.

The person sitting nearby clearly didn't believe Vincent's current explanation.

"A good kid? You know exactly what kind of training Catherine went through. You call Franklin a lunatic, but you weren't any softer when training her yourself."

"Those were all Catherine's own choices."

The first lesson he taught Catherine wasn't piano—it was killing!

When Catherine first shot and killed those people who had taken money from the Brown family, the ones who had deliberately abandoned her at the border, she completely changed!

Vincent had never seen such a resilient child!

Her eyes were full of tears, yet she told Vincent with determination on her face:

"As long as it makes me stronger, I can give up everything!"

Catherine was also a miracle created by Galactic Aurora Collective.

Without any drugs to develop the brain, she was the ultimate genius that Galactic Aurora Collective could cultivate!

Those training methods were indeed unbearably harsh. Originally, the people at Galactic Aurora Collective didn't acknowledge this leader.

But after they went to see where Catherine was training and joined in themselves, they discovered they couldn't handle it at all!

Later, when Catherine led them away from Galactic Aurora Collective's original location, those people became her devoted subordinates and partners!

The person beside him sneered again.

"You had already decided to break away from the old place and deliberately put Catherine in your debt, all so the current Galactic Aurora Collective members would support her."

"Going this far for a child—you people are really quite ridiculous."

Vincent didn't find it ridiculous at all. His tone even carried a hint of pride!

"What do you know? You have no idea how amazing Catherine is!"

She was their best student. So what if she wanted the stars from the sky?

If they couldn't get her the stars, that was their own failure, not Catherine asking for too much.

The person sitting beside him was clearly at a loss for words at Vincent's doting tone, which he himself seemed unaware of.

What kind of magic did this Catherine have?

The room fell quiet again.

In another private room, Alexander was calmly looking at the numbers displayed on the electronic screen.

"I need this information. Help me raise the bid—any amount is fine."

"Okay."

The information Alexander wanted to buy was about recent activities in a famous economic development zone.

It seemed like normal business intelligence, and not many people present were interested, but one room kept competing with Catherine's bids.

The price stopped at six million five hundred thousand dollars.

Catherine didn't raise it further. "This information isn't worth that much. Are you sure you want to keep going?"

"Whatever you say."

He was the one trying to scheme against the Howard family members competing with them, so how did it become her decision?

Catherine gave him a light glance.

"Did you put this information out there yourself?"

"Smart. We really are in sync."

The people who understood Alexander best were from the Howard family, but the person who understood those Howard family members best was also Alexander!

Since he knew what they were interested in, and Alexander happened to have this information, selling it wasn't a big deal.

The land in the economic development zone was in his hands anyway.

He didn't mind transferring the money from those Howard family members' hands into his own pocket.

Alexander was well-practiced at this sort of thing and knew exactly how to bankrupt them.

What Alexander enjoyed wasn't killing them with one blow, but making them watch helplessly as the wealth they'd worked so hard to obtain went down the drain!

Those people could hurt his mother for money, so he would take their money without hesitation!

When Alexander had toyed with them enough, that's when he'd close the net.

Catherine commented bluntly: "That's pretty ruthless."

"Thanks for the compliment."

The auction soon ended. Alexander helped Catherine put her mask back on and led her out of the room by the hand.

As soon as they walked out, Catherine felt several gazes on her.

It made her uncomfortable!

Like someone was secretly watching her.

Alexander also noticed those unfriendly looks. He pulled Catherine into his arms and glanced sideways at those people.

Even with masks on, people who knew him could recognize him!

Seeing his eyes full of murderous intent and coldness, those hostile gazes withdrew.

A cold laugh came from several rooms behind them.

In one of the rooms, a pot-bellied middle-aged man held a cigar, watching the departing pair.

"Alexander is just handing me his weakness. The more he cares about Catherine from the Windsor family, the more it tempts me."

"If Alexander watched this Catherine die in front of him, just like he watched his mother die before his eyes back then, I wonder if he'd go crazy."

The people around him burst into laughter.

"Hahaha! If Alexander went crazy that easily, that would be great. It would be his blessing!"

"True, Alexander's heart is even blacker than his grandfather's."

"You really want to make a move on Catherine? Aren't you afraid the Windsor family will come after you?"

The middle-aged man smiled. "They won't come after me first. Let my distant nephew Alexander have some trouble first, teach him what it means to respect his elders."

"Back then, his mother was right in front of him, and he still didn't dare do anything, right?"

"I want to see if this Catherine dies in front of him, whether his expression will be spectacular!"

The person beside him nodded. "Then let's arrange it."

They discussed such matters casually, as if they were only talking about something completely ordinary!

The room fell silent again.

Backstage, Catherine and Alexander, as information providers, handed over the intelligence they were selling.

Vincent walked up. "Catherine, I have something to do so I'm leaving first. Take the piano back with you and just throw it in any trash can."

Catherine was somewhat speechless.

"Throw it away?"

Vincent waved his hand dismissively. "It's just garbage anyway, otherwise I wouldn't give it away! If that doesn't work, sell it in your piano shop. I find it annoying just looking at it."

"Got it."

Vincent came and left quickly. After giving these instructions, he departed.

Starry Residence, The Windsor Mansion.

The car stopped at the entrance. Catherine unbuckled her seatbelt and got out.

But Alexander showed no intention of getting out.

"Something came up at the company that I need to check on. You've had a long day—rest well and have sweet dreams."

Catherine raised an eyebrow at him.

"I don't think your body can handle any more strain."

What a disobedient patient!

Alexander pulled her hand over and kissed the back of it.

"Then I won't go. My grandfather's there anyway."

Felix's body could handle a couple more days of work.

Seeing Catherine frown slightly out of concern for him, Alexander felt joy surge in his heart.

Did this mean Catherine was starting to care about him too?

Catherine pulled her hand back. "I'll come change your bandages tomorrow."

"Okay, I'll be waiting."

Turning to leave, Catherine strode back to her room.

As soon as she walked in, she saw someone on her bed!
