Chapter 176: The Unprincipled Timothy
Someone as smart as Juniper knew that if Catherine went to Ironclad Jail to find the former director of Angel's Haven Orphanage, there had to be a good reason!
Catherine wanted to help her find her family, which was why she went to such a dangerous place.
Catherine smiled gently, feeling warm inside.
Juniper leaned on Aurora's shoulder, pretending to be a bit troubled.
"What should I do? Now I'll have to compete with Catherine for mom again."
Aurora scolded playfully, "Nonsense! I'm already your mom. I took care of you when you were little. Even if your birth mother came back to life, she couldn't take you away from me!"
Although the Windsor family hoped to find Juniper's biological parents, if that day really came, Aurora felt she wouldn't be able to let go.
She raised Juniper, who was so thoughtful and smart. If her biological parents turned out to be as unreliable as Catherine's adoptive parents, she wouldn't give her up no matter what!
Catherine nodded along, "Yes, Juniper is great with us. I like Juniper."
Juniper's smile was radiant!
She turned to look at the Windsor family members sitting in the back of the van, raising her eyebrows proudly.
"Listen! Did you hear that? I recorded it just now. Let me play it on repeat for you to hear who Catherine likes best!"
Richard: "Catherine, quick, say you like me best!"
Philip: "Nonsense, she clearly likes me best."
Aurora said angrily, "What time is it, and you're still competing with Juniper? She's your sister! So immature."
Before they could feel disappointed, they saw Aurora change her tone and look at Catherine.
"Catherine, do you like me best?"
Catherine had no choice but to reassure the whole group of attention-seeking Windsor family members.
Alexander came up to the video screen and greeted politely.
"Hello, Aunt Aurora. No matter what Juniper chooses, we'll respect it. But since this involves Evander, I also sent a copy of the recording to my grandfather. I hope you understand."
Aurora nodded.
"Good, your grandfather should know about this too. But Alexander, this Evander..."
Aurora's face showed some distaste.
Bethany said angrily, "Aren't all the Howard family men like this? If Alexander turns out like his dad and Evander, he can forget about marrying Catherine in this lifetime!"
Alexander's father went traveling around the world right after his wife left, not caring about family business at all.
Evander was also someone without much ambition. If this generation of the Howard family hadn't produced a business genius, Felix might still be working a regular job!
Aurora asked worriedly, "Catherine, when are you coming home? Why do I hear explosions on your end?"
To keep Aurora from worrying, the Windsor family hadn't told her what Ironclad Jail was.
Catherine said calmly, "They're blasting fish in the sea."
Aurora had just relaxed when she heard Timothy's booming laugh.
"Catherine! We caught them all! A bunch of idiots tried to break out of prison. Watch me blow them up! Don't worry, the people you wanted are all alive!"
Aurora was puzzled.
She slowly looked at the children with some confusion.
Does blasting fish make that kind of noise?
The Windsor family members quickly nodded.
"Yes, that's right. Mom, you heard wrong."
Aurora relaxed, "Then come home soon, Catherine. I miss you."
"Okay."
Catherine put away her phone, her smile fading as she looked coldly at Timothy in front of her.
"Can't you keep your voice down?"
This communication style of shouting everything was about to burst her eardrums.
Timothy scratched the back of his head awkwardly, fawning, "Okay, you're right. I'll listen to you!"
"Where are they?"
Timothy said proudly, "Strung up and hanging outside!"
After all, Catherine only said she wanted them alive, not that they needed all their parts intact!
Catherine looked at Timothy helplessly, then turned to Alexander beside her.
"When you used to communicate with him, didn't you notice something was wrong with his brain?"
Alexander shrugged, looking helplessly at the fawning Timothy.
He took Catherine's hand and walked outside.
"I did, so Annie usually handles communication with him. He's old, so just cut him some slack."
Every time Alexander talked to Timothy, he got a headache.
He simply let Annie handle the contact, though after each call with Timothy, Annie had to get treatment for hearing damage.
Catherine said meaningfully, "Being your assistant isn't easy."
Alexander laughed, looking at Catherine dotingly.
"If you feel bad for her, you could marry me sooner. However long our honeymoon is, that's how long we'll give her off."
Catherine refused coldly, "Pretend I didn't say anything."
Alexander watched her quickly retreating figure, knowing Catherine was shy. He chuckled softly and hurried after her.
Outside the black tower, a tall woman with short hair, wearing camouflage, approached Timothy.
"Timothy, is Nightfall here? Why didn't you tell me?"
Timothy spat out his cigarette butt and said coldly.
"Get lost, Danielle Jenkins. I'm not your secretary. Why would I tell you everything? Besides, Nightfall came with his fiancée. Should I tell you so you can send wedding gifts?"
Danielle's expression instantly changed from anticipation to shock!
When did Nightfall get a fiancée?
"No, Timothy, are you joking with me?"
Timothy looked at her coldly, "Who are you? Do you deserve me joking with you?"
Catherine's voice came from behind them.
"Didn't I tell you to keep your voice down? No manners."
Timothy immediately changed his expression, smiling, "Right, right, quieter."
Danielle's gaze fell completely on Alexander!
She finally saw him again!
"Nightfall."
Alexander put his arm around Catherine's waist, leaning close to her, his voice gentle.
"Are you angry or shy?"
"Neither. I just think you have delusions."
She never said anything about marrying Alexander. He was overthinking it himself.
Alexander tapped her pert nose, saying dotingly, "Okay, I'm delusional. So will you help me figure out what medicine I should take to get better?"
Timothy shook off his goosebumps and said irritably, "I think you should take poison and die. Can't you see Catherine's annoyed to death!"
But Catherine didn't push Alexander away, so Timothy knew he was probably the only one annoyed to death!
Young people these days, so improper!
Seeing how Danielle's eyes were practically falling out and sticking to Alexander, Timothy knew she was up to no good.
In the past, Timothy might have watched the drama unfold.
But now, if anyone dared to compete with Catherine for things or people, he'd kill them first!
Timothy looked coldly at Danielle, "You see? If you want to send wedding gifts, just transfer money to my account. If it's anything else, get lost!"
