Josephine couldn't believe what she was hearing.
She thought, 'What did Stuart say? Is he a beast? I'm injured, and he's still thinking about having sex with me?'
Seeing Josephine's shocked expression, Stuart unbuttoned his shirt. "You don't have to move."
Josephine's face looked even more vivid and charming with angry.
She glared at Stuart. "You are a beast!"
He leaned in, supporting himself with one hand on the back of the sofa, getting closer to her. "If I'm not a beast, how can I satisfy you, Mrs. Haustia? Do you want to keep going in the bedroom or here?"
Josephine tried to push him away. "Stuart, how dare you!"
"Why wouldn't I?"
Stuart held her wrist. "It's you who won't let me sleep with others. What do you expect me to do?"
Josephine was both angry and embarrassed. "Just don’t think about these things!"
"I'm a man. How could I not think about these?"
Stuart chuckled softly, somewhat indifferently. "Josephine, if you're unwilling, I’ll go find someone else..."
Josephine took a deep breath and closed her eyes. "Then make it quick."
Stuart's hand brushed against her eyelashes.
She closed her eyes, resembling a doll with her long, curly eyelashes.
Josephine trembled, and then she heard Stuart say, "Whether I'm quick or not depends on how you perform."
"Stuart!" Josephine opened her eyes and glared at him. "If you're going to do it, then do it. Don't talk so much, okay?"
Stuart showed a hint of kindness and lifted her up. "Since you're so eager, let's go to the bedroom."
Josephine felt a deep sense of desolation. She forced a bitter smile. "Stuart, why are you treating me like this?"
Even if he didn't like her, he shouldn't insult her like this.
Stuart lowered his head to look at her. "You know, I don't like it when someone goes against my willness. I have told you,
Doris is different from others. I ask you not to go bother her, but you didn't listen."
"So, is this your punishment for me?"
Stuart placed her on the bed.
He slowly removed Josephine's clothes, revealing her graceful figure. His breathing became heavy again. He lifted Josephine's injured leg and his lips moved to kiss the skin on her calf.
Josephine's toes involuntarily curled up.
He was performing the most intimate actions, but he said, "If you think so, then it is."
Josephine thought, 'Is this your punishment for me? If you think so, then it is. Indeed, Stuart is taking it out on me for Doris. After all, I'm not the only one who got hurt today. Stuart is really heartless. No, he has a heart. It's just that his heart is with another woman.'
Stuart kissed her and spoke in a deep voice, "Josephine, focus."
He was indeed careful, taking care of her injured ankle.
Josephine could also feel his obsession with her body.
But he was only obsessed with her body.
In their previous lovemaking, they both found the greatest pleasure in each encounter.
In the past, this also gave Josephine a misconception.
Stuart's every obsession and affection always made her feel that he also had some feelings for her.
But now, she had completely seen the reality.
Perhaps not everyone could separate love from desire.
But Stuart could.
And his carefree and resolute attitude was not something that ordinary people could match.
Just like now, he kindly took Josephine to clean up. But after checking his phone, he left without any sentiment.
Josephine unconsciously took a look. The person who messaged him was Doris.
After Stuart left, she lay on the bed, revealing a sarcastic smile.
She thought, 'He is really energetic and busy. Just now he slept with me, and now he is with another woman. He said he wouldn't sleep with other women, that his body is not dirty. But what about his heart? It's long been filthy, right? But why do I still torture myself like this, trapping myself in this already painful marriage.'
Josephine remembered what Liam had said.
He said, "Why don't you leave him? "
Josephine was thinking about Liam when he called. "Josie, how are you?"
Liam's voice was deep and hoarse. "Did he do anything to you?"
Josephine chuckled, "He can't do anything to me. What about you? Are you sick? Why is your voice hoarse?"
"That bastard punched me in the face, and it's swollen. It's affecting my speech. I'm not going to work for the next few days."
Josephine's mood sank. "Liam, I'm sorry."
"Why are you apologizing?" Liam said, "I hit him first. I just can't stand him; it has nothing to do with you. Besides, I'm not going to work these days, so I'll come and see you."
"Why are you looking for me?" Josephine felt a little strange.
"Your foot is injured. I'll come and take care of you." Liam said, "And about the last case in my department, I have a new perspective." Josephine instantly stopped objecting when she heard him mention the case.
"Okay, then come over tomorrow morning."
Clement Hospital was the largest private hospital in the Hustalia.
Although it was a private hospital, it was different from those for-profit hospitals. It truly meant to serve the people and benefit the public.
The predecessor of Clement Hospital was a clinic during World War II. Back then, it was Liam's great-grandfather who practiced medicine and saved lives. Later, the war broke out, and people were wandering.
Liam's great-grandfather forced himself to learn how to bandage, suture, and treat wounds.
After the war, he also developed Clement Clinic into a hospital.
Up to now, Clement Hospital had no branches or affiliates, only focusing on the development of medical skills.
Today, Clement Hospital was one of the largest, highest-level, and most advanced private hospitals in the country. Moreover, its oncology department was far ahead of other hospitals in the Hustalia and has already caught up with international standards.
Some surgeries have even set international precedents.
Liam was in the hepatobiliary surgery department, and Josephine was in the oncology department. Last month, they had a consultation for a patient with liver cell carcinoma together.
Josephine hung up the phone and couldn't sleep for a long time.
She was born into the Kalmien family. Although the family was wealthy, she didn't feel much warmth from her family when she was growing up.
Todd had only one daughter, but he had never been close to her.
Her beloved grandparents passed away early.
When she applied for university, Todd and Esther wanted Josephine to major in art and design. They didn't expect her to achieve anything; they just thought it sounded noble for a girl to study those subjects.
It would sound good when she got married in the future.
However, Josephine insisted on studying medicine.
When she was in college, her teachers said she was extremely talented, had strong practical skills, and asked if anyone in her family was in the medical field.
Now she worked at Clement Hospital, and her medical skills had become more and more exquisite.
However, her love life had always been difficult despite her successful career.
The next morning, Josephine didn't expect Liam to come so early.
He brought her breakfast. His face was indeed swollen, and he looked angry.
He put the breakfast down and hatefully said, "I'm so angry!"
