When I first began writing Maeve’s story, I didn’t know just how far she would take me, or how much of myself I would see in her along the way.
Maeve began as a girl defined by trauma. Abandoned, manipulated. She learned to hide behind walls of rage, shadows, and silence.
Through the almost 150 chapters, Maeve fought and fell, burned and broke. But through it all she rose.
She lost her mother, her magic, her bonds. She lost herself more than once along the way.
But she also gained family, love, friendship, and most importantly hope.
She found that even in the darkness, there were hands reaching for her to bring her back to the light.
Stormi was always howling for her to get up.
Much like our own inner voice telling us to stay strong and keep pushing through the shit were going through.
Whatever that might be.
Maeve grew from a girl who believed she was nothing… into a woman who realized her worth.
And while her journey has ended for now, the epilogue shows that her story doesn’t stop at tragedy.
Maeve still carries scars from her trauma, but they are no longer the chains holding her down.
They are reminders that she survived, and that she continues to live, laugh, and love.
Her grief, her fear, and her anger were the very cracks the shadows used to worm their way in.
And isn’t that the truth for so many of us?
That the things which break us, often become the places we are most easily manipulated?
I grew up with split parents, and my moms second husband was an abusive pos. I was in that house hold for 4 years and no one at my school saw the bruises. I was bullied my whole life and just was so damn broken, Highschool was no better. I had my heart broken on my 16th birthday, was than in an abusive relationship and than found my current boyfriend.
I grew through everything, worked through my trauma and found my own 'hidden power'.
I was manipulated alot growing up, because Im a people pleaser, I was a naieve teen who was scared if I said no i'd get hurt, or abandoned.
Much like Maeve in a way, Most saw her as weak and thats how I saw myself. Never thought I was good enough, never thought I deserved anything good.
I had alot of baggage growing up, addiction, s.h, was abused ext.
For me, Maeve’s arc is deeply personal. I have stood in her shoes before: hurt, manipulated, carrying the weight of trauma and wondering if I could ever be more than the darkness that touched me.
Writing her was a way of rewriting those pieces of myself.. giving the girl who suffered her own chance at healing, at love, at peace.
To every reader who walked this road with Maevryn and I..
Thank you for enduring the shadows, for cheering in the battles, for staying during the heartbreak. Thank you for rooting her on.
Thank you for believing in her even when she didn’t believe in herself..
thank you for reading this story, and coming along the journey with me. This was my first ever story in this genre, I had the idea years ago and never had the time to write it all out till now.
I know I lost a few readers during the book because it wasnt 'interesting' or "Maeve is to weak minded" But just know she had to be weak to become strong.
Thank you to everyone who has read the whole story and been here since the start..
i wasn't sure how long I could pull this story out for, without it being repetitive, or too much, and with this being my first ever story I really appreciate every piece of feedback, comment. I hope my next story I'm currently writing 'A thread of Fate' and worlds sesh will be just as good if not better!
I genuinley appreciate you all so much..
Words cant even express how much fun I had writing this story.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for sticking it through this with me.
till next time xxx J
