Chapter 3 — New Clues

The next morning, very early, Soo Min and Hyun Woo went to the residence of the Choi family, the family home of Choi Ye Eun, for the appointed visit.

"From the information we gathered, there should be 3 people. Choi Young Sik, 60 years old, the head of the family and CEO of the fashion house. Next one is his wife, Lee Eun Hee, called by everyone Madam Lee, 47 years old. She used to be a very famous fashion designer, but now she practically gave up the spot to the Choi family's only son." Hyun Woo read the information when Soo Min was driving. "And if we're talking about a son... His name is Choi Hyun Sik but for job uses name Hyun Choi, he is 27 years old. A very talented artist and the obvious successor of both father and mother. His designs are now the face of the Choi family's fashion house brand." he added.

"I hope we will find out something important this time. We miss some point of attachment in this case." Soo Min replied, turning from the main street into a smaller one, leading to the outskirts of Gangnam, where the Choi family had their residence.

"Maybe the Ye Eun family will know something, for example who might have been interested in their daughter..." Hyun Woo said after a long moment. "In my opinion, the Cherry Blossom Reaper does not pick his victims accidentally, from the street. Each abduction is planned so as not to leave any traces, which means that the perpetrator definitely knew where to look for his victims. And he could learn this only by watching selected girls for some time before kidnapping." he added.

"I think so too." Soo Min agreed. "The kidnappings were definitely not accidental, but carefully planned." she turned into another smaller path that led directly to the driveway of the Choi family residence.

The house was large, two-story, with two wings. The style was more reminiscent of European villas, but the color of the building was quite modest, white with blue shutters and balconies. Around it was full of greenery—mainly trees and bushes, but there were also several beautiful flowerbeds full of colorful flowers. Here and there were marble statues depicting characters from Greek myths, angels and animals. Hedge elements were also carved into various shapes. It was visible from afar that this garden also extended behind the house, probably ending somewhere near the small forest, which occupied the rest of the area. However, it was not a natural forest, but a large number of various trees planted here by previous generations of the Choi family.

The property was surrounded by a 3-meter high black metal fence, security guards were hanging around, you could also hear the barking of the dogs. Soo Min stopped the car in front of the closed gate, but before she did anything, Hyun Woo was faster in action.

"I'll do it." he assured, getting out of the car and approaching the intercom, which was mounted on one of the stone columns supporting the metal gate. The intercom had not only a speaker but also a camera and a screen. "How fancy." said Hyun Woo, then pressed the intercom button. He didn't wait too long, it wasn't a minute before the older woman's voice could be heard. A woman in her mid-50's appeared on the screen, her clothes indicating she was a housekeeper.

"Choi's residence, how can I help you?" asked the woman.

"Good morning, this is detective Jung Hyun Woo." he replied, taking out his badge and showing it to the camera. "I came with detective Kim Soo Min, we have an appointment with Choi family members today." he explained.

"Ah, the guests from the police. Welcome, I will open the gate now." the woman responded immediately, she was clearly informed about this visit. Shortly afterwards the gate clicked and began to open.

Hyun Woo got into the car before the gate opened completely and then Soo Min directed the car onto the driveway leading to the house. The closest security guards watched their car carefully. When Soo Min drove closer to the mansion, stopped the car and got out, Hyun Woo immediately after her. Another security guard stood at the door and stopped both, gesturing for them to show their badges, which of course they did without hesitation, so the man let them in soon, holding the door. Inside the house looked a bit more luxurious than from the outside. White color still dominated, but there were also a lot of different other colors in pastel shades. Marble floors, elegant rugs on them, furniture beautifully decorated with ornaments. Several mirrors and paintings on the walls, with equally beautifully decorated frames. There was also a large clock that looked antique near the door.

"Detective Kim Soo Min, detective Jung Hyun Woo." they were greeted by the same maid Hyun Woo saw on the intercom screen. "Please, follow me, Sir and Madam are waiting in the living room." she added, then led them down the corridor.

Soo Min was not very surprised by the passing views, she was in similar residences while solving her previous cases. However, Hyun Woo was clearly surprised by the splendor. In Gwangju he did not have the opportunity to visit such places, so he absorbed these views as long as he could. He only escaped from a light trance when Soo Min nudged him lightly on the shoulder with her elbow. At that time, they found themselves in the living room, where on the equally elegant sofa sat a couple dressed in clothes adequately to the luxury surrounding them. It was obvious that Madam Lee, Choi Ye Eun's mother, was tall even though she was sitting. Her figure was thin, skin was pale and kind of dry, she had black eyes and long black hair, but their dark blue shade indicated that they were clearly dyed. Madam Lee had very little wrinkles for her age, but it was certainly due to cosmetics and rejuvenating treatments. Her small movements were full of grace and she was dressed as befits a fashion designer and an artist. She was smiling broadly and warmly. Madam Lee's husband and fashion house CEO, Mr. Choi, was a fairly large and tall man, with broad shoulders, black eyes and short hair of the same color, but heavily sprinkled with gray hair. Mr. Choi was wearing black leather shoes with white socks, a gray suit, white shirt and black tie with barely visible navy blue patterns, a black briefcase lied down on the couch beside him. His face was angular, with well-defined wrinkles, slightly tanned. Unlike his wife, Mr. Choi's face expression was a bit cold and seemed kind of bored, too. An elegant coffee set was placed on a small table near the sofa: a kettle and 4 cups made of porcelain painted in pink flowers. The only part that did not match this beautiful picture were the two detectives.

"Madam Lee, Mr. Choi..." the housekeeper spoke up. "Detective Kim Soo Min and detective Jung Hyun Woo have arrived." she announced, pointing on the guests.

"Welcome to our house." Madam Lee greeted them both with a warm smile. "Please sit here." she pointed to the second sofa located opposite.

"Thank you." Soo Min replied sitting down on the couch, and Hyun Woo sat down right after her.

"Would you like some coffee?" Madam Lee suggested, pointing to the cups on the table. When Soo Min nodded, Madam Lee looked significantly at the housekeeper, who immediately filled the cups, even for Hyun Woo although he didn't even move. Soo Min drank some coffee, then focused her gaze on the couple sitting opposite.

"My name is Kim Soo Min." she introduced herself and then pointed to the one sitting next to her. "And this is my partner, Jung Hyun Woo. Forgive him for his nervousness, he was moved from a smaller city." she explained, and Hyun Woo just bowed slightly and tried to smile.

"I understand perfectly. You can feel at ease in our house, detective Jung." Madam Lee turned to him, sending another warm smile.

"Anyways..." Soo Min spoke up. "The Cherry Blossom Reaper case has been transferred to us, so we would like to ask you a few questions, Madam Lee and Mr. Choi." she continued, then looked at her partner for a moment. "Detective Jung, could you take notes?" Soo Min asked him, and he agreed right away, pulling out a notebook and pen, making sure it is writing well. It was obvious that he needed something to focus on and that's why Soo Min decided to entrust him with taking notes.

"Could you start the questioning with me?" Mr. Choi spoke up finally. "I would not like to be late for work." he added flatly.

"Of course." Soo Min agreed. "First, the standard question. Where were you on Sunday evening when your daughter went missing?" she asked then.

"I was still on a business trip in China. I came home on Monday around noon, then my wife informed me of the disappearance of Ye Eun." replied Mr. Choi.

"Ok. Then maybe you can tell us if you have noticed any strange behavior of your daughter recently? Maybe someone was hanging around her? Anyone suspicious?" she asked immediately, focusing her attention on the man.

"I don't remember anyone I wouldn't know, who would hang around my daughter lately." replied Mr. Choi. "The security guards I hired for Ye Eun also didn't see anything suspicious, otherwise they would have informed me immediately." he assured. "But of course I can't guarantee that my daughter didn't meet someone like that during her escapes when she was able to get out of the bodyguards sight. Of course, every guard that lost her was immediately fired." noted Mr. Choi without emotions, as if it w something quite normal.

"Are you sure he didn't see anything?" Soo Min asked again just to make sure, and Hyun Woo looked at him, finishing his previous notes.

"I certainly haven't seen anything suspicious." Mr. Choi confirmed. "But I remind you that I am a businessman and spend most of my time away from home. I have a lot of work and I certainly missed many issues, especially when it comes to my children's life." he continued, sighing slightly. "In particular, it was hard to keep up with Ye Eun. She was popular and constantly met some new people. I also know that she had a few psycho-fans, a lot of haters on the internet... I know that because I filed lawsuits against them with my lawyer. My only suspicion may be one of these people. If you want to know their names, please contact my lawyer, he has all the information." Mr. Choi added finally.

"I understand. Your lawyer is currently Jang Chang Woo, father of your daughter's fiancé, right?" asked Soo Min, and when Mr. Choi confirmed with a nod, she continued. "And could any of the bodyguards have something to do with the case?" she asked again.

"I doubt it." replied Mr. Choi. "I check carefully who I employ. And I'm not just talking about background check, I'm also conducting psychiatric examinations for my potential employees. As I mentioned, my daughter had many psycho-fans. And my son also happened to have a few. That's why I have to be sure that every employee is safe for my family, no matter if it's a gardener or a bodyguard." he assured. "Besides, I can afford it." Mr. Choi added at the end.

"I see... If you really have nothing else to say, then it will be everything on my part." answered Soo Min.

"So I can go to work finally..." Mr. Choi got up from the couch, picked up the briefcase and looked at the watch on his wrist. "Just in time. In that case, I will say goodbye to you, detective Kim and detective Jung." he added, then left the living room.

"Okay, now we'll get to you, Madam Lee." Soo Min said, looking at the woman. "But before that I would like to ask where is your son? We also need to ask him some questions." she added.

"Ah, it just came to my mind that Hyun Sik went to Gwangju days ago... My son has his summer house there, where he can peacefully make his creations." said Madam Lee, slightly embarrassed that she had forgotten such an important detail.

"It's okay." Hyun Woo said suddenly. "It's Gwangju city in Gyeonggi Province?" he asked, and when Madam Lee nodded affirmatively, continued. "We will go to Gwangju later and talk to him there." he assured, smiling slightly. One could see that after leaving of Mr. Choi, Hyun Woo regained some good humor.

"Exactly." Soo Min confirmed, glancing at her partner, then focused on the woman. "Your name is Lee Eun Hee, right? Mr. Choi's wife and a fashion designer. And you're a mother of Choi Ye Eun, on Monday you reported her missing at our station." she asked after a while.

"Yes, that's right." Madam Lee confirmed. "Ye Eun always came home after those parties, and if she stayed with someone for the night she called me. That's why when my daughter didn't come back and wasn't answering the phone, I got seriously scared. I called all her close friends, but nobody knew anything about her whereabouts, even that fiancé of her. That's why I went to the police." she explained.

"I understand." Soo Min replied, glancing at the same time whether Hyun Woo kept up with taking notes. Mr. Choi spoke much more slowly, Madam Lee almost sputtered words at a very fast pace, clearly moved by the whole matter. "Where were you on Sunday evening when your daughter went missing?" Soo Min asked her the same question she asked her husband before.

"I was at home, of course. My friends came to me, so we sat in the living room and sipped tea, watching our favorite drama on TV." answered Madam Lee.

"Have you noticed someone suspicious who was hanging around your daughter? Or maybe you suspect someone from friends or co-workers?" Soo Min kept asking.

"In my opinion, there are a lot of such people." Madam Lee confessed. "My husband downplays everything and relies only on his bodyguards. But I watch closely even those whom he considers to be friends." she continued. "First, this unfortunate Ye Eun's fiancé. Jang Chang Ho has always been a troublemaker. In his history he have partying, drugs, numerous affairs and God knows what else. No matter how his father tries to keep an eye on his son, I don't trust this boy anyway. He just uses Ye Eun to improve his reputation. Unfortunately, Chang Ho's father, Jang Chang Woo, is my husband's lawyer, and his office works for our fashion house. And my husband had devised a plan with Chang Woo that our children would get engaged and this would help each party. I just don't know how a relationship with Chang Ho would help my Ye Eun, but well... I do not want to argue with Young Sik, no arguments would reach him anyway. When he decides on something, he can be stubborn as an ox." she sighed lightly.

"Ok I understand. But it seems to me that you are slightly out of the subject, Madam Lee." pointed out Soo Min. "Do you have anyone else in mind?" she asked after a while.

"I'm so sorry, detective Kim." Madam Lee answered. "And yes, there is one more person, probably the most suspicious of them all." she continued. "My husband would never have pointed this person because he is his business partner... But I saw how this person behaved towards Ye Eun and I never liked it. His name is Seo In Sung, owner of a modeling agency. Many of his models work with our fashion house." she added.

Both Soo Min and Hyun Woo, hearing the familiar name of the man, immediately focused.

"What kind of behavior towards Ye Eun do you specifically mean, Madam Lee?" asked Hyun Woo, once again surprising Soo Min with his commitment.

"Seo In Sung acted as if he were obsessed with my daughter." replied Madam Lee. "Already at the first meeting he praised her beauty and wanted to be a model at his agency. Ye Eun refused, but he continued to make the same offer on each meeting. At larger parties, he was insolent enough to grab my daughter's hands, embrace her, touching the waist, thighs, and even the buttocks. But the worst of all was the way he looked at her. Certainly not like you should look at your friend's daughter. Sometimes it looked like he was undressing Ye Eun with his eyes." she continued, clearly moved at the thought of these memories. "And also that he called her 'my princess'... It was all so strange, but of course my husband couldn't see anything. And when I told him about these behaviors, he told me that I'm unjustly accusing his friend." she sighed heavily.

Soo Min looked at Hyun Woo significantly and he also looked at her.

"I also heard Seo In Sung was once accused in this case." added Madam Lee.

"Yes it's true. But unfortunately there was not enough evidence to convict him." Soo Min replied.

"I think it really could have been him tough." said Madam Lee, looking at Soo Min. "Nobody else comes to my mind. Even those haters or psycho-fans of Ye Eun would not be able to do such a thing. Most of them were teenagers, practically children, I saw them at the court when my husband sued them." she noted. "Therefore, please, question him again and thoroughly search all corners of his estate." she added pleadingly.

"We'll do it for sure, don't worry about it, Madam Lee." assured Hyun Woo.

"And so we were going to talk to him again." Soo Min interjected. "It turned out that other victims, who were not models, also knew him. Adding your observations to this, Seo In Sung will certainly be interrogated by us again." she assured.

"Thank you very much." Madam Lee answered. "I hope this case can be resolved as soon as possible and Ye Eun will come back safe and sound." she continued. "And of course the other kidnapped girls, too." she added quickly.

"We will do everything in our power to find missing girls and punish the Cherry Blossom Reaper as soon as possible." assured Hyun Woo, giving the woman a smile.

"Madam Lee, do you have anything else to add? Any other things that could help us?" asked Soo Min.

"I'm afraid that nothing else comes to my mind right now." a woman answered.

"In that case, this will be all on our part." Soo Min announced. "But of course, if you would remember something, please call on the number we contacted you with yesterday." she informed.

"Okay." Madam Lee nodded slightly. "And I will call Hyun Sik right away and tell him that you will visit him in Gwangju, so that he wouldn't go anywhere and just stay home." she added after a moment.

"We will be grateful." said Hyun Woo, getting up from the couch, hiding his notebook and pen.

Soo Min also stood up, bowing slightly to Madam Lee. Hyun Woo did the same shortly after her. Then Madam Lee gave them detailed instructions on how to get to her son's summer house in Gwangju, and as it turned out, that wasn't an easy ride since the house was located in the remote area.

"Goodbye." then everyone present replied in turn, then the housekeeper walked the detectives to the door.

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Before visiting Choi Ye Eun's older brother in Gwangju, Soo Min and Hyun Woo stopped on the way at the office of Jang Chang Woo, lawyer of CEO Choi and at the same time the father of Ye Eun's fiancé. After they showed their badges and said why they came, the lawyer's office receptionist—a pretty, tall, slim girl with deep black eyes and long dark brown hair tied in a high bun, dressed in an elegant dark-blue suit with a skirt long a little bit above the knee—asked them to sit on a small sofa in the waiting room, while she called the lawyer Jang.

Soo Min observing this girl came to a somewhat gruesome conclusion: Ji Won, because that was the name on the plaque attached to her clothes, would be the perfect material for the next victim of the Cherry Blossom Reaper. By the type of beauty and age, as she certainly wasn't more than 25 years old, this girl fit the profile of previous victims very well. And certainly this receptionist was not the only girl to suit the preferences of this criminal. That is why Soo Min flinched at the very thought of how many young women could still disappear or be murdered. They had to find this man soon and finish what he was doing once and for all.

"Lawyer Jang can meet you now." said Ji Won, approaching the corner of the room, where a 'waiting space' was arranged from several small sofas and a table.

Soo Min and Hyun Woo stood up, following the woman as she led them to the big door leading to the main office, where all the lawyers rooms were located. Until now, this door was closed so that no unauthorized person could enter further. The receptionist opened the door for them and gestured that they could enter.

"Lawyer Jang resides in room 10, at the very end of the corridor." Ji Won informed them.

"Thank you." Soo Min said and entered the room, Hyun Woo after her. The receptionist bowed slightly, then closed the door behind them so that she could calmly return to her desk.

They quickly found the Jang Chang Woo's room, it was the only door at the end of the corridor, additionally the number 10, engraved in gold color, was clearly marked on it, and his name was clearly written on a plate under the number. Soo Min knocked on the door lightly.

"Please come in." soon a male voice could be heard.

Hyun Woo grabbed the door handle and opened the door, letting Soo Min in first, which caused a slight surprise on her face, but it quickly disappeared because Soo Min focused her attention on the man sitting behind the desk. For a man his age, and Jang Chang Woo was already 55, he looked really young, like a 45 years old at most. When he stood up to say hello to them, his well-built silhouette immediately caught the eye, visible despite the black suit and white shirt he was wearing. He also had a dark red tie on, with golden cufflinks, black leather shoes, and an expensive-looking watch. But despite this Jang Chang Woo looked more like a commando from an action movie than a lawyer. Even his face had a very masculine features, and a light beard yet added him the seriousness. Soo Min finally understood why he was called 'the beast' in the industry. Not only was he a devilishly good lawyer, but also definitely a strong man, who was arousing respect already by his very outside appearance. It even came to Soo Min's mind that he would be a great police officer and could easily compete with her colleague from the Violent Crime Section, Min Joo Chan. She suspected that in terms of strength he could even beat him, because unlike Joo Chan, the Jang Chang Woo's lower body was as well built as the upper. He really looked like a very solid stone column and if Soo Min was to be completely honest with herself, Jang Chang Woo seemed to be a very attractive man for her. For the first time in a long time, she was really interested in someone from the opposite sex. Maybe if it wasn't for the fact that he was more than 20 years older and already had an adult son, she might be tempted to date him. But Soo Min quickly shook off these thoughts, which were definitely inappropriate, especially considering that she was at work now.

"Welcome to my office." lawyer Jang gave them a hand in greeting, first to Soo Min, then Hyun Woo. "Please, sit down." he led them to two small couches facing each other, separated by a low table.

"My name is Kim Soo Min, and this is my partner Jung Hyun Woo." she introduced them, when everyone took their seats, and Hyun Woo immediately took out the notebook and pen, this time completely assuming his role right away.

"Lawyer Jang, after the disappearance of your son's fiancé, Choi Ye Eun, the case of Cherry Blossom Reaper has been handed down to us. Therefore, we will have a few questions for you first and then also for your son, Jang Chang Ho, especially since he was one of the last people to see her and he was probably the closest person." Soo Min continued, looking at the man. "Is he present here today, as you assured yesterday when we called you, lawyer Jang?" she asked finally.

"Naturally. At the moment he is helping lawyer Kim in organizing the documents, but when you finish asking me questions, I will call him immediately in here." lawyer Jang assured, making himself more comfortable on the sofa.

"Good." Soo Min answered and breathed lightly. "Then let's start with what exactly links you with the Choi family?" she asked after a moment.

"Well, my office deals with fashion house affairs, and I personally am CEO Choi Young Sik's lawyer. And privately, we know each other quite well, and we planned for our children to get married in the near future." answered lawyer Jang. "I must admit that the engagement mainly helped my son, as I am now watching over him and make sure he doesn't commit the same stupid things he did before. That's why I sent him to study law and between classes Chang Ho helps me and other lawyers in the office. It was not easy to persuade him to do all this, but fortunately I have my own ways, even if they were a bit drastic." he continued, but seeing Soo Min's suspicious look, he straightened up right away. "But of course it wasn't anything illegal, I assure you. I'm a lawyer after all." he added quickly.

"I understand and hope so." answered Soo Min. "Well, let's move on... Where were you on Sunday evening when Choi Ye Eun went missing, lawyer Jang?" she asked later.

"I was at home, but I reviewed documents for Monday, because in the morning next day I had an important court case." he answered.

"Next thing... Lawyer Jang, when you met Choi Ye Eun, did you see anyone suspicious hovering around her? Or that any of her friends to behave strangely?" she asked him more questions.

The man thought for a long moment, frowning. He put his legs together, rested the elbow on his thigh, slightly supporting head on his hands. This elegant pose didn't suit such a 'big' man, so he looked a bit comical this way. Finally the man moved, straightening again on the couch.

"To be honest, I have never seen anything abnormal." lawyer Jang confessed after a while. "From what I saw, Ye Eun was surrounded mainly by people she could trust. And complete strangers never had the chance to hang around her. Although she clearly did not like it, her father always sent bodyguards, often in disguise so that Ye Eun would not discover their presence." he continued. "But there was one person who could arouse suspicion. Seo In Sung, owner of a modeling agency that works with the Choi family fashion house." he announced, looking at Soo Min. "Generally, I got to know him way before I met Mr. Choi and I knew Seo In Sung was a weirdo... But when was around Ye Eun, he did not behave properly." he added.

"What exactly do you mean, lawyer Jang?" Hyun Woo interjected.

"How to put it delicately..." a man wondered for a moment. "In general I know that Seo In Sung wanted her to be a model at his agency. But at times it seemed to me that he was interested in Miss Choi not only because she captivated him with her beauty... It seemed as if he was flirting with her, sometimes even looked as if he wanted to rip her clothes off. Madam Lee, wife of Mr. Choi, tried to talk to him about it, but Young Sik did not listen to what she said, was only angry that his own wife insulted his friend with some strange accusations. Therefore, I myself did not even try to talk to Mr. Choi on this topic." lawyer Jang explained briefly. "But now that I think about it... I regret that I ignored it then. I have the impression that Seo In Sung could be involved in this whole matter. Especially that he has already been considered a suspect, right?" he asked after a moment.

"That's right." Soo Min confirmed with a nod. "But because of lacking the hard evidence, we had to release him." she added, sighing slightly.

"Well, in my opinion, only he from the Ye Eun's surroundings, looks like a potential suspect." lawyer Jang summed up.

"Okay, I wrote down your suggestion." said Hyun Woo. "Seo In Sung will definitely be interrogated by us again." he added.

"One more thing... When we talked with Mr. Choi earlier, he told us that you have been taking care of his lawsuits against Ye Eun's haters." Soo Min spoke up. "Mr. Choi said that you have the list of their names and contact information, lawyer Jang. We would like to talk with them too, since we should check out if someone among them might have something to do with that case." she explained.

"Yes, yes. Naturally." lawyer Jang got up from the couch and went to one of the cabinets, opening it and taking out the paper folder with a few pages of documents. "Mr. Choi called me before he drove to work and told me to prepare the list since the detectives will be visiting me later." he took the folder and came back to sit at the couch. "Most of the haters are teenagers and I doubt they would be able to be the criminal in Cherry Blossom Reaper case but, especially among the psycho-fans, few were middle aged men so maybe you could find someone suspicious." lawyer Jang put the folder on the table and moved it towards them.

"Okay, thank you very much." said Hyun Woo, taking the paper folder.

"Do you know anything else that could help us, lawyer Jang?" Soo Min asked, looking at him hopefully.

"No, I'm afraid that's all I can help you with, detective Kim." he answered.

"Well, in that case, these will be all the questions we had for you." announced Soo Min. "If we can, we would like to talk with your son privately now." she asked.

"Of course. I will call lawyer Kim, and when Chang Ho appear, I will leave the office for a moment. I need a small break anyway." lawyer Jang admitted, then got up from the couch and went to his desk, picked up the phone and dialed the extension number. "Taek Jun? Send me Chang Ho here, the detectives came to talk to him about the disappearance of Ye Eun." he said, then listened for a moment. "Tell him to come to my office now." lawyer Jang added, then hung up. "My son will appear in a moment." he turned to Soo Min and Hyun Woo.

And in fact it wasn't even five minutes when the door opened and a tall young man walked through them, well-built but definitely less muscular than his father. He had quite luxuriant black hair, but perfectly arranged with a hair gel. His eyes had the unique dark blue color that he inherited from his mother, Kim Yoo Na, who born into a rich medical family, was a pediatric oncologist and, unfortunately, got cancer herself shortly after her son's birth. She died after 5 years of fighting the disease, at only 32 years old. Chang Ho's face was a real mix of father and mother features, which made him look quite exotic for a Korean. He was wearing a gray suit, a white shirt without a tie and same black leather shoes as his father. Jang Chang Ho was undoubtedly handsome, although it was obvious that he used to party quite hard, which unfortunately left a mark on him in the form of a very emaciated face and strongly visible shadows under the eyes. Also because of that, even though he was only 25 years old, Chang Ho looked older, at least 30 or a little bit more. After coming into the room, he gave Soo Min and Hyun Woo a curious, but also kind of annoyed look. Then he turned his gaze at father.

"I am here, Dad." Chang Ho finally spoke up and Soo Min immediately noticed that at least his voice is almost identical to father's.

"I think I asked you to call me at work just like everyone else is calling me here." the father said to him in a scolding tone.

"I'm terribly sorry, lawyer Jang." Chang Ho lowered his head, apparently embarrassed, especially that they were not alone in the room. He glanced at the two detectives but didn't look up.

"It's ok, I forgive you." said the lawyer Jang, then pointed to the guests. "This is detective Kim Soo Min and detective Jung Hyun Woo from Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency, Investigation Department, Violent Crime Section. As I mentioned to you yesterday, they were supposed to visit us today to talk about the disappearance of Ye Eun." he informed his son. "I've already answered their questions, so now I'll leave you with them in my office so that you could talk calmly." lawyer Jang announced and left the room, closing the door behind him.
