Meeting someone new
Meeting someone new
Diary of Alexander Chetwood
1920
It had been so long ago that Alex almost forgot what the house looked like. Whe he stood outside the house he could see the paint was pilling, windows had holes and could see pieces of the roof where missing. How had the house gotten into this state? Where was the keeper of the house? Alex walked closer to the house seeing that the garden had all died or was over grown. The door was hanging on it's hengies but it looked like no one dared to come into the house. Pushing into the house he could see that everything was in perfect order. The walls still had the wallpaper that had been put on them over forty years ago. The paint was perfect on the bottom half. A table stood by the door with a frame photo of the family, a small bowl that held lose change.
Further in he could see that the paintings on the wall still hung all in great condition. How did the outside of the house get in such a condition but the inside was perfect. As he walked around he heard someone walking around upstiars. Alex went up to see who was in his house. The house that he had loved and lived with his wife. As he turned a corner he saw a woman standing in the hall. At frist he could only see her back and he felt his heart lurch. From this view she looked so much like Dorcas that he had to take a second look.
"Dorcas?" Alex whispered trying to keep his heart brusting out of his chest.
As the woman turned toward him he could see that it wasn't her. The eyes where all wrong and she was tanner than Dorcas. Now that he was looking at her he could see that she was shorter than Dorcas was. She took off running when she saw him, heading toward his bedroom in the back. Alex beat her there catching her by the arms as she tried to hit him.
"What are you doing in my house?" Alex glared at the woman pinning her to the wall.
"Wait, your house?" She just looked at Alex like he had grown a second head. "Why do you look like the painting?"
"Yes, my house." Alex told her not answering her other question. "Why are you here?"
"Well no one was staying here when I found it almost a year ago. So I came in and stayed. No one comes this far out any more. I can hide here and no one would know." she told him not fighting his hold.
"You just took up in the house, taking the items for yourself.?" Alex wasn't relaly upset about the stuff but he didn't like a stranger in the house.
"Well you see, I needed a place to hide." She told him with a sigh. "You could put me down, I can't out run you."
"Why do you need to hide?" Alex asked as he put her on her feet.
"Let's just say that a very bad man wants to take something from me that I don't want to give." She told him brushing her dress down.
"I see, so you kept the house looking nice on the inside?" Alex still couldn't understand how the house looked like this.
"No sorry, it was like that since I got here. Outside is in a horrible state. You don't know how it is like this either?" She asked looking around the house.
Alex had no idea how the house could be like this. He didn't know any witches that he knew of. The other paranormal things that went bump in the night he wasn't sure where real. So he just shrugged. Not sure how to answer that question. He wished Travis was still with him. It has been over five years since he had seen him. Maybe he would show back up at some point. He looked at the girl then sighed.
"What's your name?" Alex finally asked as he took a step backward.
"MIsha, yours?" Misha asked with a small smile.
"Alex, so you are hiding. I don't mind you being here but next time try to let someone know." Alex sighed as he looked at the house. "Your name is very unique."
"I have been told that a few times." Misha smiled at Alex as he walked with her down the hall. "That room is off limits. You can pick any other room but that one."
Alex could see that she wanted to ask why, but she didn't. Alex moved through the house seeing every place was spotless. No damage at all to the inside. Once he went outside he saw the wear. The years of being forgotten. He would have to find some workers to come out and clean it up. Find a gardener to come and clean up the lady. He would also have to find someone for blood. Normally Alex would have had someone he knew to help him. Trouble was that the person who normally helped him had left five years ago. So he stood outside the house by the large tree looking at the house.
"It does look like hope for that house is lost." Travis spoke from behind Alex.
"Travis, I didn't expect to see you here." Alex turned to see his friend. "The inside is in amazing condition. Not a clue how though."
"Well we will have to find some workers to get it back to it's glory. I also brought you something that you might need." Travis pulled a bag from his bag.
"I have missed you. How was the travels?" Alex took the bag sinking his teeth into it.
"Not bad at all, though I have feeling I was needed here. Didn't expect to see you but something told me to bring the bag." Travis told him with a smile.
"Found a woman staying here." Alex told Travis after he finished the bag. "Made me think there was a ghost."
"Oh? Is she still allive?" Travis teased as they entered the house.
"Yes, I wouldn't kill her. Good lord man." Alex laughed at the look on Travis's face.
"That is a plus, wow this place does look amazing. Did the girl keep this way?" Travis knew how it was like this but he wasn't going to say anything about it.
"No she told me it was like this when she got here." Alex told him as he called for her. "Misha"
A few moments later a young woman came down the steps looking shocked to see another man with Alex. When she stopped in front of them she smiled brightly.
"Misha this is Travis." Alex nodded toward him with a smile.
"Nice to meet you, have I seen you some place before?" Misha could have sworn she had seen this man before. Something about him is screaming at her that she did know him.
After the welcomes Misha went off to do something some place in the house. She knew that Alex didn't want her in the master room or the office.
