Wounded Wolf
Wounded Wolf
It took The Wolf almost week to come back, which meant Alex had to keep going to charge or change out the tablets for the pup. Alex didn't understand why the girl didn't have a name. The next time he went right before The Wolf came back he asked her if she had a name. The girl looked at Alex like he had lost his mind. Did she need a name? He sat with her watching as she read book after book. It was the one thing she asked for on the tablet. Books so she could learn more. Alex didn't think anything of it at the time, but now he wondered if he should have told her no. The thing was he didn't want to treat her like an animal. So far he hadn't seen her act like one.
"He's back." She whispered looking toward the edge of the clearing.
"Who?" Alex turned to see The Wolf standing there watching them. "Was wondering if you would come back."
When The Wolf entered the clearing Alex gasped. He had a long wound down his face, blood still oozing out of it. Alex caught him just as he started to fall. Who the hell had done this to him?
"We have to get him to my house, will you come with us?" Alex asked the girl.
"Yes, he shouldn't be wounded like that." She told him helping to pick him up.
They rushed to his house, putting him on the couch in the living room. He called for Hem to bring the first aid kit. When he came into the room he gasped as the wound and worried about how he had gotten hurt. They worked on the wound for almost an hour, finally getting the bleeding stopped. One eye was filled with blood, the other looked at Alex with fear and anger. When he reached toward Alex the girl grabbed his hand stopping him.
"Who harmed you?" The girl asked looking into his eyes. "Tell me..."
"Can't." He told her looking up at her. "You have changed."
"You can, but you won't." She told him glaring "Yes I have changed. Mr. Alex helped me to understand things. He also took great care to make sure I didn't harm anyone when I had burst of powers."
"How?" He asked her with a half smile.
"That I can't tell you, I really don't understand myself. Maybe it was just the care that he gave to make sure I was safe. Or the fact that he always brought me food, drinks and the tablet thing." She told him with a half smile. I sitll want to know how harmed you."
"I dont think I can tell you." He groaned in pain as Alex put another gauze over the wound. "The Queen did say that she would help you."
"Her help isn't needed any longer. I do want to know who harmed you." She spoke with anger and a bit of fear.
"You still need to go back to the Fae. This place isn't the right one for you. It will smoother you here. The fae is the place for you and your magic." He looked almost like a father trying to get his child to listen.
"I will go if you tell me who harmed you." She told him looking into his eyes.
Alex didn't think for a moment that The Wolf would tell her anything. This wound was nasty but it would heal in time. He wasn't sure if he would keep the eye however. It had to have happened in the fae realm. Rather sure that it wasn't the queen that did it. Something else happened to him and he wouldn't tell them what it was. Hem and Alex both worked to clean up the wound after it had stopped bleading. It was a weapon wound not claw or teeth. Alex didn't see anyone on this preson that would say what had happened to him. He noticed a little blood on his hands, but thought it might be his own. Almost two hours later he was resting in one of the guest rooms.
"I don't think he will tell you what happened to him. I can tell you that it was a blade wound, not claws or teeth. No sigh of what happened for that it have happened. No idea what form he was in either. Something tells me that it happened in the fae realm." Alex told them as he looked around the living room. "We need to clean up."
"If I have to I will go to the queen and find out what the hell happened to him." She told him and vanished from the spot.
"Shit!" Alex turned in time to see her go out the front door leaving it open. "That isn't good at all."
"No that is truely bad." Hem watched as Alex turned to leave as well. "Don't follow her."
"Hem she is going to get herself killed." Alex told him standing by the front door.
"What she is about to do is the only way to find out what happened. I have a feeling that the queen does't know what happened yet. That girl is the only one who can go to and from that realm without caused a war. Let her find out what she can. The Wolf will need all the help we can get. I wish my aunt was here, she was great with medical stuff. I didnt' have the mind for it." Hem told him as he looked toward the door then up the stairs.
"So we wait." Alex told him with huff. He didn't want to wait for her to come back.
"Alex, she will be alright." Misha told him as she walked into the living room. "I know it is hard to not follow her."
Alex looked at Misha wondering what she was getting at. Did she think that Alex was in love with the girl? That isn't what it was, it was more that he thought of her as a child. He had helped her over the last week to come out of her shell and learn control. Why would she think other wise. When he looked at her it dawned on him that she hadn't been here for a while.
"When did you get back?" Alex asked trying to change the subject.
"About ten minutes or so ago. I went to store to grab some food for the girl." Misha told him holding up the bag.
"I'm glad that you came back and thank you for thinking of her. Takayla normally does the shopping for the house. She went to visit her mother." Alex explained with a smile.
"I missed something I take it." Misha asked as she looked around the living room. "Who was hurt?"
"The Wolf." Hem told her as he started cleaning up the living room. Getting all the gauze and cut up shirt off the floor.
"Who in the hell would be able to harm him?" Misha asked as she looked at Hem.
"Nothing good." Hem said as he went into the kitchen.
