Letter to Crystal

Dearest Crystal,

I am not sure why you would believe that Dorcas is my child. She can't drink blood at all, if she does, she throws it right back up. Not to mention the fact that she doesn't act anything like me. I was overjoyed to have her as my daughter in the time she had been with me. The anger that you mentioned didn't show up at all here, either. Please be sure to take care of her on your side of the barrier. She is an amazing young woman and will be a great queen if she decides to take that role. If I was a betting man, she won't take it. Dorcas is a free spirit and loves to be outside to be around nature.

Over the years we have always been friends. Even when I wanted to hate you, I couldn't. My heart still feels love for you, but it isn't the same as it used to be. Dorcas is looking to find answers, and you are the one with those answers. The story that you told me doesn't make sense at all. No way could a spell that they did on you would change the fact that I can't have children. You are the one that told me this so many times over the years. Every so often a vampire will have a child, but it wouldn't be with a fae. When you sent her to me, it was to keep her safe from whom ever is her real father. I would hate to be the man who is her father. Dorcas figured out that I wasn't her father at a young age. Never did she tell me, but I knew she had figured it out.

If you need help you need, just send me word. Crystal, please take the time to get to know your child. She is so much like you, it is crazy. Loving and can throw hate without a thought. The one thing she does that you didn't was feeling bad for hurting someone with her words. Misha and I will be traveling around to see the world. One stop if my family home, that I need to check and make sure it is still in good shape. I hope that you are well and will keep Dorcas safe.

Sending Love,
Alex

It is strange how you miss the noise that kids make when they leave home. Alex had gotten used to the way Dorcas would play her music to loud. Alex had decided to go on a sort of honeymoon with Misha. Show you around the areas that he had loved in his human life. So many of them still standing even through the wars, and horrible weather. They would go to his family home, then travel to Ireland. After that they would go to Scotland, where Misha had been born, though she didn't have the accent. Hem would travel with them to make sure they had blood, and places to stay. A few of the flower fairies would take care of the clinic. Victor was off doing something on his own. He would go back to the house to stay for a few weeks. Sadly, both his dogs had passed on. Alex hadn't decided on getting more animals yet.

Misha had told him to get another dog, it would be nice to have someone there to welcome you home. Alex wasn't really sure that he would, it hurt so much when they passed. So it was on the ropes for that. We landed in Europe at midnight, a couple of humans helped with the luggage. A hired car was sitting on the tarmac to take us to the house. Travel was so tiring and I hated it at times. We would sleep most of the first two days, which took so much time away from site seeing.

Nothing strange had come of the travel. The house was in great shape and the farms were still bringing in money. While at the house, we found two puppies that the mother had abandoned. Alex wanted to just leave them at the house, but Misha had fallen in love with the pups. So we named them Boop because he would come up and boop his head or nose on your hands. The other was named Coal because he wanted to keep playing in the dirt or the ash in the fireplaces.

Travel with dogs wasn't easy, but Misha refused to leave them. So they traveled with two dogs around Europe into Ireland and Scotland. Once we decided to go back home, the puppies were almost fully grown. They were huge, much larger than Scoob and Shingles. We thought they were mastiffs, but didn't know for sure. When we arrived at the house again, I smiled when I saw Dorcas standing at the front door. The dogs ran toward her barking but stopped cold when she held a hand at them.

"You trained them?" Dorcas asked when she walked closer, petting both.

"Yes, can't have an untrained dog around. You came back already?" Alex smiled as Boop tried to get Drocas to pet him more.

"It's been ten years." Dorcas told me, then sighed when she saw me laughing. "What?"

"Sweetie, it has only been four months on this side." Alex told her as he gave her a hug.

"I forgot that the time is different here." Dorcas smiled as she helped take stuff into the house.

This was what Alex had hoped for. That she would come home, but he knew that she couldn't stay. So they would take the time to be a family. To have as much fun as they could. Happy was hard to find at times, but Alex had finally found it.
