Chapter 133 - The Surrender

Chapter 133 - The Surrender
Chapter 31 - The Surrender

Lyrielle POV

The bond thrummed through me like an undercurrent, fierce and unrelenting, pulling at every fiber of my being as we stood in that moonlit clearing.

My hand trembled in Rhaen's, and his skin was warm against mine. Seiryn, my dragon, coiled restlessly in my chest, her scales itching with the need to claim what was ours, what had always been ours, if only we'd listened sooner.

The air hummed with magic, silver and sharp, the full moon's glow amplifying the chaos of it all: the betrayal we'd thought we'd uncovered, the lies from Katrina and Chelsea that had shattered us, and now this, relief crashing into desire like waves against jagged rock.

Nyxaria's golden eyes met mine across the space between us, a silent question passing between us like a shared breath. She nodded once, fierce and unyielding, her water magic already stirring the air into mist. With a flick of her wrist, she tore open the portal, ripples of liquid light framing two doorways: one to Lucen's room, cluttered with the scent of leather and ink; and the other to Rhaen's, all dark furs and shadowed promise.

The bond yanked harder, a living thing now, dragging Nyx toward Lucen even as it rooted me to Rhaen.

"Go," I whispered to her, my voice barely audible over the roar in my ears. "We'll... we'll be fine."

She squeezed my free hand, and her touch was cool and steadying. "Scream if you need me, sister."

Then, with a smirk that didn't quite hide the heat in her gaze, she turned to Lucen. "Your room then? Don't make me regret this."

Lucen's response was a low growl, his hand finding her waist as they stepped through. "Never."

The portal shimmered, sealing them away in a swirl of vapor, leaving the world to narrow to just us, Rhaen and me, our breaths mingling and our hearts slamming in chaotic rhythm.

I didn't want to fight it anymore. The pull was too strong, the ache was too deep, and every fucking nerve was alight with the scent of him: pine and blood and wild earth, undercut by the faint copper tang of his vampire hunger.

We'd wasted so much time, months of denial, of stolen glances and half-formed dreams, all because I was older, because I thought I knew better, because the bond felt like a cage when it was really a key.

But now, with my eighteenth birthday long past and his just struck under the moon, the hormones surged like a storm tide, raw and eighteen-year-old reckless.

"Rhaen," I said, my voice steady despite the flutter in my chest. I tightened my grip on his hand, stepping closer until his heat enveloped me. "I'm ready. Now."

His amber eyes widened, a flicker of awe cutting through the feral hunger. He searched my face, his fangs peeking at his lower lip, and his breath hitching.

"Lyri... are you sure? We can wait. The bond.
.it's intense tonight, but I don't want to.."

I shook my head. Seiryn rumbled approval in my veins, and her scales shimmered faintly along my skin. "No more waiting. I want you. All of you."

The words hung between us, bold and breathless, and the bond answered with a pulse that made my thighs clench.

He exhaled sharply, a sound wrecked with need, and dropped to one knee before me, graceful and reverent, like a knight swearing fealty to his queen. From his pocket, he withdrew the ring I had thrown at him. It was cool against my skin as he slid it onto my finger. It fit like it had been forged for this moment, and a spark leaped between us, the bond humming in recognition.

"Then you're mine," he murmured, his voice gravel-rough, and his eyes never leaving mine. "Forever."

The portal's magic deposited us into his room with a soft whoosh, the door sealing behind us like a vow. Moonlight poured through the arched windows, casting the space in ethereal silver, the wide bed with its pile of midnight furs, and the faint scent of him everywhere, it was intoxicating.

My heart pounded, a mix of shyness curling in my belly like mist over water, curiosity blooming hot and insistent. I'd never done this, never let anyone close enough, but the bond stripped away the fear, leaving only want.

Rhaen stood frozen, staring at me with those huge eyes, his pupils blown wide and his chest heaving as if he might shatter.

"Lyri," he breathed, his fangs fully extended now, and his hands flexing at his sides like he was fighting chains. "Gods, you're... I can't..."

I moved before I could second-guess myself, my fingers finding the ties of my dress. They trembled slightly, shy, yes, but the curiosity won, Seiryn urging me on with a low, eager trill.

The silk loosened, whispering down my shoulders, over the swell of my full breasts, past the dip of my waist, until it pooled at my feet. Cool air kissed my bare skin, my nipples tightening under his gaze, and a flush creeping up my throat.

I stood there, exposed, my scales faintly iridescent along my collarbones and hips, my thighs pressing together against the sudden ache, and met his stare, bold in my vulnerability.

His eyes devoured me, huge and unblinking, a low whine escaping his throat, Vareth, his wolf, stirring. He was losing his mind; I could feel it through the bond, a torrent of awe and hunger crashing into me. His cock strained against his pants, hard and obvious, and the sight sent a fresh wave of heat pooling between my legs.

"Touch me," I whispered, stepping into him, my hands sliding up his bare chest. It was hard planes of muscle, scarred and warm, and his heart thundered under my palm. "Please, Rhaen."

He groaned, the sound was primal, and his hands finally obeyed, gentle at first, his palms cupping my face as he pulled me into a kiss. Soft and exploratory, his lips tasting of moonlight and salt, and his fangs grazing just enough to tease without breaking skin.

I melted into it, my shy curiosity giving way to response: my tongue flicking against his, a soft moan vibrating between us as his hands trailed down, his thumbs brushing the undersides of my breasts.

We stumbled toward the bed, his touch feather-light, his fingers tracing my collarbones, and down the curve of my waist, over the faint scales that made him shudder with delight.

He laid me back on the furs, hovering above me, his eyes dark with restraint. "Tell me if it's too much," he rasped, his voice strained, as his mouth followed his hands...with kisses along my jaw, and down my throat, lingering at the pulse point where my blood sang for him.

It was sweet and overwhelming, his gentleness was a balm after the night's chaos, but the bond demanded more, our hormones raging like a fever. I arched into him, my hands tugging at his trousers, freeing him with a boldness that surprised even me.

He was hard, like velvet over steel, and the feel of him against my thigh made me gasp. "Rhaen.
.more. I need more."

His control snapped like a taut line. With a growl that was all wolf, he surged forward, gentle still in the breach, but swift, one hand guiding himself as he pressed into me. The stretch burned, sharp and full, my virginity yielding in a rush of heat and pressure. I cried out, my nails digging into his shoulders, Seiryn roaring in ecstasy as he stilled, buried deeply, his forehead pressed to mine. "Lyri, holy fuck, you're so tight. So perfect. Okay?"

"Yes," I gasped, the pain already fading into pleasure, the bond flooding me with his sensations, I could feel how I felt around him, clenching and warm.

"Move. Please."

He did, slow at first, rocking with a tenderness that made tears prick my eyes, but I demanded more,y hips lifting to meet him, and my words tumbling out in a haze:

"Harder, Rhaen....gods, harder."

The bed shook under us as he obeyed, his thrusts turning fierce, pounding deep and relentless, the slap of skin echoing like thunder. Sweat slicked us, his mouth was on my breast, his tongue swirling, his fangs nipping, while my hands roamed his back, urging him on. It was hot, messy, eighteen-year-old fire: our grunts and moans mingling, the bond amplifying every gasp, every clench, until I was spiraling, my thighs quaking around him.

"Now," he snarled against my neck, his fangs poised. "Bite me, Lyri...claim me."

I did, instinct guiding me, my own fangs elongating as I sank them into his shoulder, his blood flooding my mouth like spiced wine. He roared, biting down in return, the dual pierce igniting the bond like a struck flint.

The world shook.

Silver fire erupted around us, the room trembled, the windows rattled, the furs slid off the bed, and the very air warped as the mate-bond slammed home, unbreakable, and eternal.

Pleasure crested in a blinding wave, crashing over me as I shattered, clenching around him, crying his name. He followed with a guttural shout, spilling hot and deep, our bodies locked in the aftershocks.

We collapsed, tangled and spent, the tremors fading to a gentle hum. His weight was a comfort, and his lips brushed my temple. "Mine," he whispered, his voice hoarse with awe.

"Yours," I murmured back, the ring glinting on my finger, the bond a steady tide now, warm, whole, and ours.

And in that moment, under the moon's watchful eye, the healing truly began.
