Chapter 39 - Blessed with Two Mates

(Kane)

I watched as Kiera’s Lycan fought against Mr. Gabriel. Ari is a quick learner and Kiera is as well, but I could tell she was becoming weaker and I knew it was because she wasn’t with her mates. I know she misses her mates. Last night I found her by the waterfall crying. I sat beside her and held her. I knew how she felt, because my dragon and I had been feeling like we were going crazy without our mate. I have been looking for my mate for months and I know she’s still alive. Knowing that there’s a chance, we find her when Mrs. Jennifer trades herself in, gives me some kind of hope.

A growl snapped me out of my thoughts and I looked towards Kiera and Mr. Gabriel, as Kiera or I should say Ari, grabs Mr. Gabriel and drops him to the ground and leans down towards his neck. Mr. Tristan, Mr. Koslov, Mr. Colin, Dalton, and I clap. Mr. Gabriel gets up and gently nudges Ari. Ari runs to the tree line and shifts, then comes back wearing a robe.

“You did great Ari, Kiera” Mr. Gabriel says.

“Thank you Mr. Gabriel” Kiera smiled but I could hear Ari as well.

“We've been training for hours, so we’ll stop for today and continue tomorrow” Mr. Colin says. Just then, Mrs. Yashira rushes towards us with a serious look on her face. I looked behind Kiera and saw the other women coming towards us.

“It’s Helen” Mrs. Yashira says, as a crystal like bubble appears, just like last time when Kiera had to watch Benny being tortured.

“Hello my dear sister” Helen smiled. It was very creepy and I could see the evil in her eyes.

“Helen” Kiera gritted out.

“Aw, it makes me sad that you’re not happy to see me” Helen faked being hurt and placed her hand above her heart, or should I say black heart.

“Where are my mates?” Kiera asked. There was an evil glint in Helen’s eyes as she turned her head. The women gasped when they saw the Lycan King and Gamma Benny.

“The deal was you wouldn’t hurt them anymore” Kiera screamed as her eyes turned an icy silver.

“I have kept my side of the deal, Kiera” Helen said.

“Are you fucking kidding me? Look at my mates” Kiera shouted as her teeth began to sharpen.

“I didn’t touch your mates as I promised. Now grandpa, on the other hand…” Helen grinned.

“Helen, if anyone touched another hair on my mates’ head or body, I will make you suffer as much as they have” Kiera snarled.

“Promises, promises, but fine. They won’t touch them anymore, but if I don’t see you where I said, then the deal is off and your mates will die-”

“I will be there” Kiera assured her. Helen smiled evilly and waved before she disappeared. Kiera turned towards us and I saw her eyes were still glowing an icy silver.

“I’m going to make her suffer” Kiera growled as she shifted to her Lycan and took off running. Jennifer tried to go after her, but Mrs. Angel stopped her.

“She needs time to run off her anger” Mrs. Angel said and Mrs. Jennifer nodded.

“Are the potions ready?” Mrs. Jennifer asked Mrs. Yashira.

“They have to sit for two more hours” Mrs. Yashira said. Making Mrs. Jennifer nodded.

“Now, I have to tell you that the one for the angelic wings is going to be painful” Mrs. Yashira warned.

“I understand” Mrs. Jennifer said, then looked at me.

“Is the chip working?” she asked me. I took out my phone and clicked on the app.

“Yes, it’s working good” I said.

“Good. Soon, I will be able to give my mate a proper burial” Mrs. Jennifer’s voice cracked. I couldn’t imagine the pain she has gone through or is still going through. I don’t think I could go on if something happened to my mate.

(Kiera)

I watched as my mom took the first potion, then handed Mrs. Yashira the empty glass potion bottle. Mom looks at me and I arch an eyebrow. Then, I saw her start to change. Her hair turns darker and her body gets perkier.

“Holly-” I extended my hand and poked mom’s boob. She gasped and playfully slapped my hand away, making Mrs. Yashira giggle.

“Now the second potion. Remember this one will be painful” Mrs. Yashira said. Mom nodded and took the potion, then handed the little empty bottle to Mrs. Yashira. We waited for a couple of minutes but nothing happened.

“I don’t feel- argh” mom screamed, falling to her knees. Was she feeling the same pain I felt when I first got my wings? Mom touched her shoulder blades before taking off her shirt. I watched as the wings began to move under her skin before they began to come out. Mom screamed like there was no tomorrow, but as soon as her wings were out mom was able to take a deep breath. She looks at her wings.

“How do I bring them back in?” mom asked me.

“Imagine them going back into your back. When you want them to come out, all you have to do is just imagine them out” I said. She nodded, then closed her eyes. Her wings began to go into her back. When she opened her eyes, the wings were gone. It took some time for me to learn it since I was just a child when I got my wings, but I also had a great teacher.

“It’s time” Kane said. Mom nodded and gave me a hug.

"I love you honey" mom whispered in my ear.

“I love you too, mom. I’ll see you soon” I said. She nodded and left with Mr. Koslov. He was going to use his vampire speed to take mom to where she needed to be. We also had warriors close to the spot waiting for their king and royal gamma. I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. I’m exhausted.

“When was the last time you slept?” Mrs. Angel asked.

“I- I don’t know” I admitted.

“You need rest. You won’t be able to fight if you’re exhausted” Mrs. Angel said.

“My Lycan… She’s…” I couldn’t find the right words.

“She’s unsettled. She wants her mates. I know something that might help. Grab one of their shirts and sleep with it. It might calm her down enough for you to get some sleep. I’ll come get you when we find something” Mrs. Angel said.

“Mom should arrive soon. I need to know if my mates are okay. Then I would sleep” I said. She looked at the others but then she nodded. We all headed inside the castle and I sat on the sofa.

‘Beta Jazmine, how are things going?’ I linked her.

‘We’re in place. Your mom and Mr. Koslov just arrived’ Beta Jazmine links back.

‘Your highness, I was just informed that a black SUV is approaching your mother’s location’, Beta Jazmine informs me. I close my eyes feeling my heart pick up speed.

“We have a visual”, Kane says, and the image pops on the TV. I watch the front passenger door open and Helen steps out. She walks towards mom and slaps her with the back of her hand. A growl leaves my lips.

“The signal is good” Kane says. I saw mom turn to leave but she was stopped by an elderly man. He grabs her by her hair and shoves her inside the SUV. He then looks around and I see it’s my grandfather. Helen gets in the SUV again, but not before I see the look of victory on her face. But I don't see what I was hoping to see. I don't see my mates anywhere around.

“Where are they going? Where are my mates?” I roared, making the whole castle shake.

‘Your highness, the king and royal gamma are not with them’ Beta Jazmine informs me. I already knew this and I wasn't liking it one bit.

“Kiera, we have the GPS. We’ll know where they are soon enough”, Kane assured me, but everything was becoming too much. I was losing control of my Lycan. Suddenly, I felt a prick on my neck. I turned to see Mrs. Yashira with a needle.

“I’m sorry honey. You need to rest for the sake of your pups”, Yashira said before everything around me went black.
