TOO HARD TO RESIST
TOO HARD TO RESIST
I feel his tough hand slide up my left thigh, passing my hip and gripping my waist tenderly as I move my right leg over his legs to sit on his laps.
My back arches, my stomach leans forward to press into his abdomen, and I don’t know when I start rocking the bulge sticking out on his crouch.
Blank worships my body with his hands, slowly sliding them from my thighs to my breasts, and then back down to my thighs occasionally.
“Stop making it harder for me to resist you, Nectar,” he moans helplessly and breathlessly into my mouth.
I respond with the same energy. “Fuck resistance.”
His phone dings once from his pocket. We ignore it. It rings once. We ignore it. However, when it begins ringing for the second time, Blank ruins the moment without my control.
“Can’t you leave work for now?” I ask, lost of breath.
Blank lifts his left hip a bit to tuck out his phone, looking into it. “This is too intense, Nectar, I was too carried away. We should take some steps back.”
I sigh in frustration, my posture slagging as my eyes flicker to the phone.
There are two notifications on the phone screen. One signifying a missed call. The other seeming to indicate a message from someone in his contact list.
Blank looks to be reading the heading of the message notification. But I notice that his screensaver is the fucking picture he took of Aunt Mellow twenty years ago. The same one that is causing the damn ruckus online, which also happens to mean a lot to Blank and Aunt Mellow.
Triggered by that, I quickly come down from his laps, shocking the man who now looks at me confusedly.
“I guess you just got the news about the post Aunt Mellow made this morning. No more waiting. No more watching your screensaver all day. Congratulations, you can finally meet your lover again,” I snap before storming to the bedroom.
As I pack my stuff grievously, Blank doesn’t try to hold me back. Even as I leave with my bag, he says nothing while leaning on the kitchen counter, speaking to someone on the phone about the damn trend online.

I got home an hour and some minutes ago. Mom tried speaking to me a few times but I ignored her, which is why as I now hear the repeated ringing of the main door’s bell, I ignore as well. Until the ringing becomes too much to bear.
I angrily get out of bed and make for the stairs. Just three steps remaining to be clear of the staircase, I notice mom leaning against a sofa in the living room while looking up at me.
“You couldn’t get the door?” I snap.
“I needed you to come downstairs, hon,” mom replies, now standing akimbo.
I roll my eyes with a huff. “So it’s a trap. Fuck it.” Then I turn around to go back up stairs before mom’s voice halts me in my tracks.
“It’s your dad, Tar.”
Dad? I haven’t seen Dad for nearly a month now. Mom doesn’t still know about the other thing transpiring between Blank and I, and I refused telling her of our fallout, so it can’t be that dad came because they’re suspecting I’m declining again, right?
I rush down the stairs to open the door anyway.
Dad and his right-hand man, Beavan, are standing right in front of the door. And I can’t predict the expression on dad’s face. It’s one of those days when his demeanor seems bland and unemotional.
Nevertheless, I ask, “Dad, why are you—”
Someone slides into the frame, cutting my words off, and causing me to hang my mouth open.
Seeing her for the first time in her signature silk top and maxi skirt attire feels unreal. It’s like all the while she had been living in my head only for her to appear right in front of my eyes. And the only thing I can do is forget to pick up my jaw as I mope at her.
“Au— Aunt Mellow?” I stutter.
“Where’s he?” she asks, glowering at me. The chill in her voice snaps me back to reality, and I turn to dad who shrugs.
“Where’s who?” I ask, my tone almost rude. I know who she’s talking about. Except, I don’t know why she’s looking for him here.
“Christopher,” Aunt Mellow utters while stepping in front of dad, coming close to me.
I frown. “Why the hell would you ask me about Christopher?”
Aunt Mellow’s expression grows into a deeper glower as she walks past me to the sitting room, plopping down in a couch. I couldn’t stop her. Even mom didn’t. So I turn to dad.
“Dad!” I yell at the man, who responds immediately.
“Where is Blank Patriarc, Nectar?”
“He’s not here, dad! Why will he be?”
Dad enters the house, sighing before patting my shoulder. “We know everything, Nectar.”
My feet shuffle backward without my permission. Does ‘everything’ mean that he knows I like Blank, or did mom tell him that I spent the night at his house?
Right, it must be the latter. They want his house address.
“Give Mellow the house address, Nectar,” Dad says softly, now gently kneading my shoulder.
I shrug his hand off. “That would be betraying Blank,” I mutter while looking down.
Dad sighs. “They are friends.”
“Friends?” I can’t help but scoff, looking up at dad while shifting back more. “You really believe that? Those two were lovers, dad. Like it or not.”
“Who made you angry, baby?” dad asks softly, but that doesn’t quell my anger.
“Don’t change the subject. Face the issue at hand. Those two are in-love, and it’s exactly why I’m having issues with him.”
The hall falls into a deep silence. Dad simply stops blinking while still regarding me with that expressionless face of his. And as I glance around me, Mom—who is now sitting in the living room as well—also looks at me dumbfounded, while Aunt Mellow cranes her neck to stare at me for a while before turning away.
“Uh…” I stutter. “I didn’t mean—”
“When were you going to tell me you were dating a man my age, Nectar?” dad asks rather nonchalantly.
I mumble insignificant words before spurting meaningful ones. “Technically, we aren’t dating. He’s still hungover on aunt Mellow. Whatever she gave him, it’s strong.”
“He probably only misses her, like she misses him.”
“Gosh, just face it, dad. One of the reasons he ran away was because he loved her too much.”
“You think we did not know that? It has been twenty years, my dear. As time drifts, people change, and so do their feelings. Being separated from Mellow after a long time, he must have stopped seeing her in that way but never realized it. He just needed someone else to wake him up, and that someone is you.”
My eyes widen, my brows rising in surprise at dad’s words. One thing I’ve never discussed with dad is my dating life. He’s usually overprotective when it comes to other men that’s not him, so I dared not.
When it came to Blank, I felt so sure that he would not approve any unprofessional relation with him, given that he’s way old, and that he’s his past love rival.
But he not only just surprised me, he gave me hope.
“So you approve of me dating him?” I ask softly, my harsh tone suddenly disappearing.
Dad dips his hands into the pockets of his pants and stares across at Aunt Mellow. “I never said that. We still have scores to settle. Me and him. And me and you.”
I giggle, jumping, then hugging dad from his side.
“That was a bribe, though. I need a favor from you,” dad utters, now turning to look at me.
I stop with my excited motions. “What favor?”
“Su Pointe’s current number. Can you give it to us?”
