Epilogue

Epilogue
3 Years Later:-

A smile crept upon my lips when I saw Azure and her father sleeping peacefully.

Azure, my sweet daughter having those same exquisite eyes as her father but she is over energetic like her Aunt Erica. I smiled and sat beside them. I ran my hands in Azure hairs and called her softly,

"Azure, My love, Wake up." I said. She whined and turned away.

"Roy, at least you wake up."

I complained but he just hugged Azure and didn't reply to me. I pouted and stood up.

"Fine then, I will tell Mother that her son and granddaughter are not coming to meet her other son Lucien." I announced as both of their eyes fluttered open.

"Uncle!"

The low-pitched cheery voice of Azure came as she got out and was about to run out of the room but I picked her up.

"Let me go, Momma!" She said, struggling.

"First make your father sit." I said.

"Okay!" She grinned. I put her on the bed. She ran to Roy and held his hand.

"Papa, wake up. Wake up, Papa!" She pulled him and Roy sat up.

"Okay, I am awake, Princess." Roy yawned as she turned to me.

"Papa's awake, can I go now?" She asked cutely. I motioned her to go and she ran away.

I smiled and walked to Roy. He held my wrist and pulled me into his laps. I smirked and wrapped my arms around his neck.

"Good Morning." I said sweetly.

"Good Morning." He said groggily, snuggling to neck and implanting a kiss there.

I giggled and ruffled his hair, "You know, Roy.. I love it when you say Good Morning."

"You made me call it, My queen." He laughed quietly. He then turned me to him and was about to kiss me but I put my hand in between.

"Freshen up, my love." I winked but he is not in the mood of hearing no- he never was. He pinned me on the bed and shifted on top of me.

"Care to repeat that, My dear wife?" He asked huskily, leaning in.

"God, Roy, don't be so irresistible." I breathe out knowing he never fails to provoke me with his charm.

He smirked and pulled me into a kiss. And whenever he kisses me sparks travel to my core giving me endless love.

It gave me that feeling of rapture I felt the first time he kissed me and his love, which increases by each passing moment, is making me feel so blessed.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him back. It had been years but still I am no match against his lips. We pulled away and smiled,

"Everyone is waiting for us." I said.

He smiled and kissed my forehead and pulled away.

We got out of bed. He got ready as we both walked out. Roy saw Lucien and greeted him.

"Brother Lucien!" Erica's voice came and she jumped into his arms.

"I missed you so much!" She beamed.

I smiled looking at Eri. She has grown and looks so beautiful.

"It's been six months." Lucien laughed a little as they pulled away and he patted her head.

"Mini Garnet is always looking forward to meeting you."

"Not just her but someone else as well." I said, referring to Lesley.

He laughed a little and said nervously, "That's why I came back."

"We know." Roy joked.

"Brother Roy, don't call me Mini Garnet."  Eri whined.

"Why?"

"I am not mini anymore." She complained.

Roy laughed and ruffled her hair, "You will always be mini for me." She pouted and closed her arms at her chest.

"By the way, where's Azure? She came for you." I asked Lucien.

"She came in a hurry and left with Mother in a hurry." He chuckled.

"Anyways, let's have breakfast. After that, I want to talk to you, Roy." Lucien said, taking a seat.

We all sat down to have breakfast. As we were having breakfast, Eri spoke up,

"Brother."

And with such innocence she called them, I am sure she had done something or she wanted something.

"Hmm?" Both of them hummed and Erica began to say nervously, "Can I go somewhere after school?" She asked.

"Yeah, sure. Where?" Roy asked, taking a sip of his coffee.

She tugged a strand of her hair behind her ear and said vaguely, "On a date." Both of them choked on their food and turned to her.

"Who is he? What's his name? Where are you guys going? Is he your class fellow?" A series of questions came from Roy.

Welcome to an interrogation session with The Layne Brothers.

"He is Shawn.. the one who came to my birthday party... Do you remember?" She said and Roy seemed to forget about him.

He narrowed his eyes, trying to remember him. I tugged on his coat and told him.

"The one you didn't let go near Eri." I told Roy in a whisper so that he could remember. He nodded and this time Lucien said,

"You can go, Eri but don't be late."

"Don't let him touch you just on the first date," One from Roy.

"Keep a pepper spray with you." One from Lucien.

"And keep your phone on." Another one from me, beloved Roy. “And your location as well.”

"And… Is anything else left, Roy?" Lucien asked. Me and Mother looked at them in amusement. Erica chuckled and shook her head.

"What? We are serious." they both said.

They were such overprotective brothers. Sometimes I feel like I am the sister-in-law of Eri and Roy and Lucien were her brothers.

"Okay. Okay. I will be back before evening." She said putting her hands in the air trying to shrug them off.

"Papa!" Azure called Roy.

"Yes, papa's princess?" Roy asked, turning to her.

"Where's Aunt going?" She asked.

"She is going out with her friend... and yeah." Roy again turned to Eri.

"If he becomes your boyfriend you know what's the first thing you will do, don't you?" Roy said again.

"Yes. I will let him meet you." She said with a laugh.

"Anyways, Good luck. " Lucien said. "Thanks." She smiled bashfully.

"I will drop you off, Eri."

Lucien offered and Eri's face lit up in happiness. They both stood up and left. After they left I burst into laughter.

"What?" Roy asked.

"You are such an overprotective brother, Roy." I said, patting his shoulder.

"That's the duty of a brother. To protect her sister. I cannot let her go with a guy who's gonna break her heart. If he is serious then I am fine or else he will be prepared for the consequences for making her cry." Roy said.

My chest boasted in pride when he said that.

For a moment, I even wanted to have a big brother who will protect me like this but I have him so I am not complaining.

He is my knight, the one who will protect from all the abhorrence of this world. The love of my life. The darkest and deepest desire of my heart.

"Said who used to be the womanizer himself." I teased pushing him from the shoulder.

He stopped eating and turned to me. An atrocious smirk crept upon his lips as he said in his magical voice.

"Is that why you couldn't resist me?"

When he looked at me with that piercing gaze of his it sent shivers down my spine. His gaze never fails to bind me in his spell.

"It's not good for me." I said, turning away.

"Come on, Azure. Let's go and watch cartoons." Mother said and left with her, leaving us alone.

Roy stood up and walked behind me. He hugged me from behind, moving  his lips slowly over my skin as goosebumps formed all over my skin.

"Roy." I called him firmly, not turning to him.

"Hmm? Tell me, what's not good for you?" He asked in a whisper, biting my earlobe.

My heart skipped a beat, I smiled shyly. The endearment and allure radiating from him stirred my mind.

"Azure is going to have a brother or a sister." I announced and he stopped. He blinked, trying to register my words and when he did he asked excitedly,

"Really?!" I grinned and turned to him.

"Yes." I said in blithe. He picked me up and spun me around. I wrapped my arms around him. He put me down and pecked my lips, pulling me in his embrace.

"Oh God, I love you so much, Garnet. Thank you for coming into my life." He said panting, barely controlling his happiness.

"I will go and tell this to Mother." He said. I nodded and he ran to tell everyone.

Roy told the good news to everyone, they all congratulated us.

Exhilaration took over me, a sweet elation filled my heart. An everlasting smile was formed over my lips and I could see my reason to smile, my life has his name.

"I have made up my mind, Garnet, Roy. You know things have been hectic between us but it is time to redeem them." Lucien enunciated standing up.

We looked at him perplexed but he just continued.

"I am not good at speeches like you Roy but I will try my best. Both of you come with me for some moral support."

"But, where?" I asked.

"The reason I came back."

He didn't tell us anything, he just took us with him.

We stopped outside Lesley's apartment and got out. I could take a hint about what he is planning to do and it made me smile so widely, I felt merry for Lesley.

Lucien called Lesley to come. Lesley saw Lucien as he ran to him and hugged him. I was amazed that Lesley waited for him all this time.

He rarely comes back but still she waits every single second for him.

She cherished each moment she spent with him and worshiped it as a holy grail was given to her.

The love of Lesley for Lucien was admirable.

"Lucien! I missed you so much."

She cried like always whenever she saw him. She hugged him close, crying in his arms, letting out the pain of waiting for him like always.

He smiled and pulled away. He cupped her cheeks and kissed her tenderly.

"I have to come back." He said gently, moving away.

Lesley raised an eyebrow at him but that smile is still plastered over her lips.

"Lesley, I came back to get what belongs to me. I have made you wait long enough.”

“What…?”

“I thought my redemption was not in love but I was so wrong. I found it in you. I cannot be away from you anymore. Lesley.” He breathed out.

“Lesley, I want to tell you, it's time to end this wait of yours. You have waited for almost six years.”

Lucien took a step back and bent one his knee, he took a box and opened it, showing her a ring as he began to say.

“Let's put a halt to this tormenting wait. I promised to return to you, here I am. I, not only just returned to you, I am here to be yours forever.”

Tears filled her eyes, “You can’t be serious, r-right? Are you truly ready?”

“Yes, I am here to take you away.” He paused, ready for the final moment.

“Will you be the partner of my every journey, Lesley?" He proposed to Lesley.

Oh my God, Lucien proposed to Lesley!

I gasped and held Roy's hand tightly, feeling so gleeful for them. Lesley's eyes teared up as she whispered.

"Yes... I would love to."

They both hugged and we both began to cheer.

I was rejoiced that the journey filled with unbearable feelings of misery finally came to a halt for all of us, letting us reside with the one we adore because-

That's what love is... an emotion to cherish forever.
