103.2- Fresh Start

I was left staggered when I came to know how Garnet let herself be disgraced just for my sake and Lucien used it against her. I couldn’t take it anymore no matter what, no matter how angry I am at Garnet, I couldn’t let her go.

I entered Lucien's room and sat beside him. He was broken beyond repair, he was submerged in penitence. The remorse of his deed.

"Lucien... " I called him.

"Roy.. I didn't know what took over me. I.. I.. Please don't hate her because of me." He said breathlessly in a croaked voice.

"I can neither hate her nor you, Lucien. I am here to ask for something."

"What?" He asked, turning to me with a raised eyebrow.

I stood up, I had never begged Lucien for anything, he always gave me what I pointed my finger at, he was always there to shelter me.

I knew he wanted to use me as a toy but he could never and forcing myself, I bent on my knees before him, joining my fingers together, pleading with him in a whisper.

"The entitlement of calling her as mine. Leave her alone, Lucien. I love Garnet a lot and she loves me too. I cannot watch her be with someone she doesn't love." I said in a broken voice, looking down.

“I will do anything, I will be your slave, I will do whatever you want but leave her, I want her so badly, Lucien. I had never desired anyone as much as I yearned for her. I love her too much.” I begged him for my love with tears filling my eyes.

He gasped, holding my hands and lowering them, panicking to find me like this but after constantly denying; even if I was afraid, I was ready to beg Lucien.

For Garnet’s sake.

“Idiot, what are you doing?! Get up?!” He whisper-yelled at me, taken aback to see my desperation.

"This is the last thing I am asking from you, Brother." I said as a tear fell from my eye, looking at him desperately. He paused, arching an eyebrow at me.

I swallowed hard, “I know you love her too-”

I was about to continue but he laughed dryly a little, bewildering me.

“Love her?”

He flashed his deadly smile and leaned back, motioning to me to get up. I followed and sat beside him as he began to tell me.

“My Brother, I feel nothing for that woman.” My jaw dropped when he enunciated out of the blue.

“Then why did you do this? Those words, those talks-” I asked in a hurried whisper, blinking to comprehend as he gave an honest but malicious response.

“A lie. I lied. You should know my manipulation skills are immaculate.” He chuckled, waving his hand to shrug this off.

“Why did you do this, Lucien?” I asked, mouth gaping, worried if it was to hurt me or not.

“Two reasons, first I wanted to see the edge of your love towards her and now that I have seen it, she is all yours.” He smiled while speaking nonchalantly and that was when I realized-

He was never serious about this game of revenge. It was all an entertainment for him to witness how far I could go. To watch me break limits, fall in love, go crazy over Garnet.

He was enjoying this, he never cared.

“And..?” I gulped hard.

“Second, I wanted to punish her. I am sorry I involved you in my mess and stole her away but I wanted her to suffer.” He chuckled apologetically, giving my shoulder a pat and stood up, stretching his arms.

“Why?” I growled, slamming my hand down. Lucien was unbelievable.

“It was an old grudge, don’t worry about it now. I hold no hard feelings towards her. I can’t hurt the ones you love. Man, I have to fake tears to gain her forgiveness now. I can’t let my future sister-in-law hate me.” He hummed dryly, replying instantly, tapping his foot.

I contemplated and was relieved to know he won’t cause a hindrance as I asked hesitantly.

“So you are freeing, Garner, right? She can be all mine, right?”

"She was never mine in the first place, Roy. She is all yours. I will not cause any trouble from now on." He spoke promisingly with a chuckle, reassuring me.

I smiled and gave him a side hug as he spoke what he always did.

"Anything for you, My Brother."
