99- Day Together
99- Day Together
"Stop staring, Roy!"
I scowled at Roy who kept staring at me and not listening to me at all, lost in his own world.
"Listen, Mr. Layne, I am talking to you!" I whined, slamming the files on his table, finally waking him up from his daydream.
"What? I was listening." Roy said. I narrowed my eyes on him and asked, "Then tell me, Mr. Layne."
His smile faded and said sternly, "Don't call me that."
"We are at work." I replied, deadpanned. He sighed and put his hand over his forehead.
"Now, tell me what I was saying." I asked, putting my hand over my waist with a smirk over my lips.
"Stop staring." He said, leaning in a little.
"And before that?" I asked, putting my hands on the table and leaning in.
He smiled and opened his mouth to say something but he couldn't say anything because he didn't hear what I said!
I sighed loudly and he closed his mouth with his smile slowly faltering.
"I was saying the meeting is about to start. We have to leave soon and after the meeting, drop me at Eri's school for PTM, it will be over soon and then we also have an appointment with the wedding planner." I explained to him again. He nodded.
"Okay... So then, let's go." He said standing up. I took a deep breath and took the files he needed and walked behind him.
We were going to the hotel where the meeting was being held. I was looking at the file and then I suddenly asked, "Roy.."
He hummed and I continued, "I think I am distracting you from your work. Your work means a lot to you and I don't want to disturb you." I said nervously.
He spared a glance at me and replied, "But, you cannot leave me, My beloved Garnet."
I chuckled and replied, "Yeah. Not unless I pay my loan back and till the contract finishes." He smiled.
"By the way, Roy. I am the only employee with a contract, aren't I?" I asked.
He smirked and replied, "Maybe."
"I knew it!" I chirped.
"I don't want you to go away. You have always been my golden bird." He spoke in his charming voice which gave me butterflies in my stomach. I smiled shyly and didn't reply and looked out of the window.
We reached the hotel and the meeting went well. After the meeting everyone was talking. I was enjoying my tea alone when someone came.
"Hey. Are you Mr. Layne's assistant?" He asked, taking a seat beside me. I smiled and nodded.
"You are pretty. By the way, I am Zack, the architect of the beach resort, do you remember? I feel sorry for what happened at the opening ceremony. It was horrible, curse who did it." He said sweetly. It was me.
"I am also the architect of this project as well." He continued.
I smiled and replied, "Nice to meet you. I am Garnet."
He chuckled nervously, "I wasn't able to get it last time." I hummed and took a sip of my coffee.
"By the way, would you like to get a cup of coffee with me?" He asked hopefully.
I raised my gaze and turned to look at Roy who was looking at me with a frown. I smirked looking at him and then turned to that guy.
I raised my hand, showed him my engagement ring and began to say in a fake sad voice, "I would love to but my fiancé wouldn't like it. Why don't you ask for his permission?" I said innocently.
"Who?" He asked.
I turned to look at Roy. His eyes widened when he realized that he was asking out Roy Layne's future wife.
He quickly got up and left. I chuckled and shook my head.
I saw Roy smirking at me. I winked and began to drink my tea again. Soon, he came with Mr. Bangs. I stood up and shook hands with him.
"Congratulations, Mr. Layne and Ms. Beth." He said.
We thanked him as he laughed, "Love is a strange emotion, isn't it? Who thought a casanova like you would announce his engagement out of blue."
Roy chuckled and replied, "I guess that's what love does to you." I smiled and remained silent. I wanted to retort. He is not a casanova now!
"Well, good luck."
"Thanks."
After the meeting we were coming back and I laughed. "What happened?" Roy asked.
"Have you seen that guy's face when he realized that I am your fiancee?" He chuckled and replied, "It was funny." I laughed and shook my head.
Roy dropped me outside Eri's school and asked, "Should I come too?"
"Why?" I asked.
"Just saying. I want to gain experience for our kids." He said nonchalantly.
I gasped and blushed, "Roy, you are progressing too fast. I don’t register one step and you take another!" I whisper-yelled at him.
"What? I am just saying. Will happen eventually anyways." He shrugged his shoulders. I sighed and got out of the car.
"Are you coming or not?" I asked, closing my arms at my chest.
He grinned and said cheekily, "Coming." He then parked the car and came.
We went and attended the meeting. It was great and as expected Eri's grades were impressive as her teacher loved her.
After the PTM we went to meet the wedding planner. We greeted and sat down and began to discuss the theme of the wedding.
"Which one do you want, love?" Roy asked. I put my index finger under my chin and began to think.
All of them were pretty so I wasn't able to decide on one. I turned and looked at Roy, when I looked at his enthralling orb, I knew what color I wanted for my wedding.
"Blue. Light blue. Just like Roy's eyes." I breathe out.
"Really? Like my eyes?" He asked, amused. "Isn't it good?" I asked innocently. "No. I was about to say green. Just like your eyes." He said. I chuckled and shook my head.
"Blue and white theme. Simple and beautiful. You okay with it, Roy?" I asked.
"Yeah..." He said.
"So when is the wedding?" The wedding planner asked.
"October." Roy replied.
"Upcoming or next one?"
"Next one."
"Ah then there's a lot of time for it." The planner said.
We both nodded and I said, "Roy is the one who wanted to do this. He is really excited and impatient."
"Aren't you?" Roy asked.
"I am more nervous." I said laughing a little. We talked about the theme and after that we left.
And after that we went to my home. I yawned and stretched my hands, plopping myself on the sofa, feeling too tired.
Eri came and chirped, "Welcome home! How was the PTM?"
I opened my mouth but the person who died to have a younger sister spoke up first.
"It was great. Your teacher is impressed by your progress, Mini Garnet." Roy said, ruffling her hair.
"And the wedding planner?" She asked excitedly.
"It was also good. We selected the theme for the wedding as blue and white, do you like these colors?" He asked. I smiled looking at them.
"I love blue. But it should be the same as your eye color." She beamed.
"That's what your sister said." He grinned.
"Are you tired, Nut?" Eri asked. I hummed hugging the cushion and before I knew it, I fell asleep because of the tiresome day.
I woke up at night. I sat up and ruffled my hair while yawning. I got out and walked to my room but I saw that the light of the kitchen was still on.
I narrowed my eyes and went there to turn it off. It must be Eri who forgot to turn it off. I entered and saw Roy using his phone.
My eyes widened, I thought I was still sleepy so I pinched my cheeks but he was actually here. I turned to look at the time. It was midnight and he was here.
That man had swore at this point to live and die at my domain.
