GARNET

My heart was overwhelmed with gaiety, I couldn’t even explain how elated and blessed I felt. It was like something I used to dream about and it became actuality.

Although it all happened too quickly, it was all real! He proposed to me!

"What are you looking at?" Roy asked, driving us back home because of him we missed our flight and the next flight is in the evening. I smiled and shook my head,

"Nut is looking at you, Brother." Eri said. I blushed and looked out of the window.

"She can do it." He chuckled.

"We missed our flight because of you."

"Because you didn't say that you are going to meet your Aunt."

"I forgot. And you, you thought that I am going to leave you forever." I frowned.

"What? I got scared. You even gave me that rose." He reasoned, defending himself.

"You give me roses everyday, What if I pay it back?" I shrugged, trying to control myself but failed.

"So you are growing it for brother Roy!" Eri exclaimed.

"What?" Roy asked, mouth gaping with a mischievous look.

"She grew it herself for you." Eri blurted out. I glared at her but she just kept grinning and Roy laughed.

"What? You always give me roses you grew yourself so.. I did the same." I mumbled.

"Well, Thank you very much. It's no less than a treasure. " He smiled. I sighed deeply and then we reached my home. We got out and went inside, Eri ran to her room leaving us alone, giving us some time to talk.

"Garnet." Roy called me. I hummed. "I was thinking I should go with you too." He said. I turned to him and shook my head in denial, “No, Roy."

"Why? I can go and meet your Aunt and tell her about us." He reasoned. I motioned him to sit. I sat beside him and held his hands and explained,

"Look, Roy. I will tell Aunt about us. We can meet her any other time. Now, you need to stay here and focus on work and I believe you haven't told anyone that you proposed to me and I don't want you to make it public... as long as your parents won't agree." He looked at me intensely and gave me a hesitant nod,

"Mother will agree."

"And your father?" I asked.

He frowned and muttered, "I don't need him."

"No. You do. Your hatred will give rise to more hate Roy. I am not telling you to patch things up with him, just ask for his permission. It's all too sudden even this hasn't sunk inside me too. I still think it's a dream." I said softly, giving his hand a slight squeeze.

"You do?" He asked with a smirk.

"Shall I wake you up?" He asked, moving to me.

My lips curved downward as I sighed, "Roy, Listen." I scold. "Okay." He smiled. I smiled back.

"I will be back in a few days. Think about it carefully about what you said. Are you ready for it or not? Think about it all and then tell me, okay?"

"My words will not change," he said firmly.

"Okay, but at least think about it because I am not ready to marry abruptly." I said, trying to make him understand.

"I know Garnet you don't want to marry that sudden or quick and I am not forcing you too. We will just have our engagement and we can marry when you think you are ready." He said sweetly. I smiled and put my head over his chest.

"Thanks." I said sincerely. He kissed my head and we remained like that. The time passed and the time for me to leave came. He kissed me goodbye .

"Let's go, Eri." I smiled, holding her hands.

"Bye, Brother Roy!" she waved at him. He waved back and we left.

"Uncle Martin!" Eri shouted and hugged him.

He hugged her back and smiled, "How's the little princess?"

"I am fine! How's Aunt?" She asked.

"Hello Uncle. How is Aunt?" I asked hesitantly.

He smiled and said, "She is fine now."

"Can we meet her? I need to tell you two things." I sighed.

"Nut is getting married!" Eri shouted.

My eyes widened as my breath hitched. I blushed deeply and put my hands in the air and said quickly,

"That's not it! I mean it is right but I am not getting married that soon. I am getting married but not now. I am just here to meet Aunt and tell you guys about him. I want your blessing. I mean not-"

I said hurriedly and my uncle laughed. He patted my head and pulled me in a side hug.

"May you have a happy married life." He said sincerely.

I smiled widely as a tear pricked in the corner of my eye. "Thank you.." I whispered, looking down.

"Tell this good news to your Aunt so that she can recover quickly." I smiled and nodded.

"Aunt.." I called her into her room. A sad smile crept upon my lips and I walked close, holding her hands.

"How are you feeling Aunt?" I asked.

"Now that I saw you, I am fine." She smiled. I kissed her hands and remained like that.

"Just the regret of not letting you stay with us is eating me up. I am sorry, it was all my fault." She whispered sadly.

"Please don't talk like that Aunt. I am perfectly fine now. I am so happy that I cannot even tell you. I am even getting married." I told her with a smile as a tear rolled down my cheek.

"Really!?" She asked happily. I nodded and said ,

"He loves me a lot. He knew everything, still he accepted me and wanted to live with me. His name is Roy Layne." I told her. She smiled and patted my head.

"I am so happy for you." I smiled widely.

"You will recover quickly and help me for the wedding."

"Nut's wedding! It's gonna be so much fun." Eri beamed, barely holding her happiness.

"Oh my little sweetie. Come here."

"Carefully Eri." I told her.

"Aunt! How are you?" She asked.

"Now I saw my kids. I am fine." We both smiled and had a family hug.

I then began to tell her about Roy. How he proposed me and she laughed when he heard it,

"At least something good came out of it." She said, I remained silent and remained like that.

"He sounds like a gallant guy." And also one hell of a person. I smiled widely and nodded.

"Very." I said.

"But Garnet, Isn't he your Boss?" Uncle asked.

"Yeah. He is. But we had... a really complicated relationship.." I trailed off.

"Yeah. Brother made Nut cry so much and then he begged for her forgiveness and also asked for my help to make things up with her. He made a card just for her." Eri said.

"You helped him make that card?" I asked. She put her hand over her mouth knowing that she let out their little secret.

She shook her head no and I narrowed my eyes at her and she lowered her head and finally said,

"He wanted to do something for you so I helped him." I smiled widely and shook my head.

"But, what did he do?" Aunt asked. My smile faded.

I looked at Eri and told her sternly, "Eri can you go and wait outside?"

"No, I also want to listen to your love story."

"I will tell you when you get older. Now go."

She whined but in the end she agreed. After she left I took a deep breath and began to say,

"Uncle, Aunt... Our story started with a slap.." I told her everything about us except how Lucien blackmailed me and Roy harassed me. I also didn't tell them anything about Roy's heartbreaking past.

"You two seemed connected, didn't they? I get you are one of hell but seems like your man is too" Uncle trailed off with a laugh.

I smiled nervously and nodded, "Yes."

"And for him you let this happen to yourself." Aunt said sadly.

"I love him." That was my only reply.

"We both hope you guys will have a happy married life. No bond is perfect, learn, grow together." Aunt said.

"But, sweetie don't you think it's too quick." Uncle added..

"I know. Roy said we will just have our engagement, the marriage will happen when I am ready."

"Ah, then it's fine. Seems like he loves you a lot."

"A lot."
