Everyone looked at this scene in shock.
Ethan seemed like any other guy, but he was this strong?
They couldn't even see his movements!
Chloe, still drunk and groggy, also woke up slightly and tried to raise her head that was plastered against Ethan's chest, wanting to see his face. However, her failure to see well due to the alcohol increased her interest even further.
"Who... Are you?"
She muttered as she saw Ethan use all his strength. She sagged in his grasp, finally losing consciousness as she could no longer hold on.
"What? Still going to fight?"
Ethan cast a disinterested glance at the group. The goons gulped nervously, slightly afraid.
Their toughest man had been knocked out with a single blow, so why would they continue fighting Isn't that the same as pursuing death?
They didn't give up, though, since their boss was on their side.
One of them clenched his teeth and glared at Ethan, saying, "Kid, don't leave if you have the guts! I'm going to call our boss right now!"
"Let's go!"
After he said that, the thugs quickly dashed back inside the hotel.
"How are you doing?"
Ethan looked at Chloe, noticing just now that she fell asleep.
What a pain!
He let out a sigh. It wouldn't be proper to just abandon this woman, even though he wanted to do that.
"Fine, I'll just help until the very end..."
With Chloe in his arms, Ethan made plans to return her to the hotel.
Just then, a stern-faced middle-aged man in a custom suit walked out along with the goons from earlier.
"Boss, that guy's the one who took Miss Miller away!"
One of the thugs pointed to Ethan.
With a dark chuckle, the middle-aged man approached Ethan and gave him a shoulder pat. "Kid, you're really brave for wanting to steal my woman? Don't you realize who I am?"
Before he could say anything more, Ethan turned to look at the man. Before he even finished his speech, the man abruptly stopped as if he were choking.
His face went pale, unable to talk due to the tightness in his neck!
It was actually... Him!
Ethan recognized this man. He was the one who crashed into his electric bike during the banquet.
"What a coincidence... So, this is your woman?”
With a mocking sneer, Ethan added, "If you want her so badly, I can hand her over."
The man was so terrified that he was unable to talk. In his eyes, Ethan's smile appeared deadly!
He was terrified beyond belief!
Why was he so misfortunate? He actually touched the woman Mr. Wilson found attractive. He was doomed!
On the other hand, the middle-aged man's thugs were too busy to notice the shift in their boss's face. Foolishly, one of them remarked, "Kid, who do you think you are to speak like that?" while pointing haughtily at Ethan. "You're lucky that Boss is interested in your woman. Even if the woman was your mother, you'd have to present her on a silver platter!"
The middle-aged man's expression instantly changed at this, and he turned to give the lackey a hard smack.
Smack!
The lackey was instantly knocked to the ground by the forceful smack.
"Why did you hit me, Boss?"
The lackey was devastated and completely baffled. The others were equally bewildered.
"Hit you? I really want you dead!"
The middle-aged man spoke with bloodshot eyes, gritting his teeth. Even if he had 10 lives, he wouldn't be able to survive for daring to speak such things to Mr. Wilson!
Thud!
The man instantly bowed in front of Ethan and said, "Mr. Wilson, I apologize; I was unaware Miss Miller was your woman. I swear I haven't touched her in any way! Moreover, this youngster who insulted you will be dealt with immediately! Please, please forgive me."
The bystanders were astonished to see the man bowing.
Gavin, this middle-aged man, was a New York real estate magnate! Moreover, he had deals with the New York underground forces several times!
Even some wealthy bosses were afraid to irritate him. There weren't many individuals in New York that Gavin was afraid of.
But now that he was seeing Ethan, he was shaking like a chicken in front of a tiger!
Upon witnessing their boss's demeanor, the thugs also turned pale. They had mocked and ridiculed Ethan before this, even though they knew he clearly wasn't an average person.
As soon as they realized this, they bowed down in front of Ethan.
"Enough, just get out of here. I don't want to see you anymore. Don't expect to keep your lives if I find you doing something like this next time," Ethan said coldly.
With a pale face, Gavin bowed again swiftly and said, "Thank you, Mr. Wilson!"
After that, he ran away with his men.
Ethan stared at his arms and grumbled, "Ugh, what a hassle."
Seeing Chloe asleep, he was a little powerless. He had been dragged unnecessarily into numerous problems. Nevertheless, he went to the hotel with Chloe and booked a room.
He initially planned to leave Chloe behind and move on, but she was holding onto his clothes hard. Thus, he chose to stay because he thought something could happen to her in her current state.
Soon, night time passed.
Chloe got up early in the morning, looking a little messy in her clothing and hair.
"Am I in a hotel?"
Chloe was shocked to see her surroundings, but then she saw that her garments appeared to be intact.
"That's a relief..."
She was relieved.
"Are you awake?"
Ethan came from the restroom at that very time, seeming a little tired. Since Chloe was talking in her sleep last night, he didn't get much sleep.
"Ah! Who are you?"
Startled, she turned to face Ethan in fear. But then, it seemed like she recalled something.
"You... You helped me yesterday?"
Chloe's head hurt. She could barely recall what happened yesterday the day before, other than the fact that Gavin's guys were all around her. During then, she had grabbed someone randomly to use as a shield.
That person seemed to be Ethan.
The man who had saved her was quite attractive. It appeared as though she didn't suffer any losses from this.
With her long legs tucked into her black stockings, she sat on the bed and blushed as she turned toward Ethan. With a hint of embarrassment, she said, "I apologize for yesterday, and thank you for your help."
"That's alright."
Ethan let out a yawn.
"Sorry for disturbing your rest; I'll leave now."
She hurriedly got out of bed, straightened her clothing, and prepared to leave. Then, she abruptly turned around and asked, "Give me your number. I want to treat you to a meal as thanks someday."
Ethan gave a nod. "Alright."
After handing her his number, Chloe blushed as she looked intently at Ethan before turning and leaving.
