Chapter 10

Even though Abella was pretty good at medicine, she wasn't some kind of miracle worker.

"Have you been keeping an eye on Vilma in room 301?" Daniel asked, sounding casual.

Randy sighed, "I check on her every day..."

Before he could finish, Daniel cut him off, "From now on, you gotta check on her three times a day!"

"Grandpa, I'm swamped." Randy said, feeling helpless.

"I told you to pay attention, and you clearly haven't! Abella, hang on a sec, I need to teach this kid a lesson!" Daniel didn't hold back, raising his hand to smack Randy on the shoulder, "You little rascal, I haven't seen you in forever, and now you think you can just ignore me."

"Grandpa, this is a hospital, no yelling allowed." Randy was ready to bolt.

"You rascal, you think you can outrun me? I just ran three miles to get here."

Ten minutes later...

A fancy Rolls-Royce rolled through the gates of Long Island Manor.

There were thirty-three luxurious private villas by the lake, top-notch and unmatched.

The car cruised down the wide, shaded path and stopped in front of one of the villas.

A couple was waiting eagerly outside. When they saw Tom's car, they exchanged astonished looks.

"What happened?" Beckett Medici, Abella's dad, asked first.

Where was Abella?

Was she okay?

Kimberly Harris, Abella's mom, was shocked to see Tom. "Tom, did you get into an accident? Where's Abella? Is she alright?"

They quickly peered into the back seat.

"Ms. Medici is fine, I just got rear-ended by a truck on the way." Tom quickly opened the car door and said respectfully, "Ms. Medici, we're home!"

Abella looked up and met the two pairs of eyes outside the car.

Kimberly, who had been a stunning beauty in her youth, even more so than the actresses of her time, now had a gentle and dignified aura at fifty.

When she saw Abella, she couldn't help but tear up, "Are you Abella? My precious daughter. We finally found you!"

As soon as Abella stepped out of the car, Kimberly hugged her tightly.

The sudden hug made Abella a bit uncomfortable, but she felt a touch of warmth.

"Let me look at you." Kimberly cupped Abella's face. Abella's features were delicate, her skin flawless. With tears in her eyes, Kimberly asked lovingly, "Have you been well with the Wilson family all these years?"

"Yes." Abella replied.

That simple reply brought more tears to Kimberly's eyes. Goodness their precious daughter wasn't mistreated!

"Abella is back, we should be happy." Beckett, his eyes also red, said, "Let's go inside, don't let Abella get tired from standing."

"Yes, Abella, come in." Kimberly said, taking Abella's backpack and handing it to Beckett.

Beckett held the bag, which had no brand logo, and looked at Abella's back, feeling a pang of sadness. How had Abella been living all these years? She was all grown up, yet she carried such an ordinary bag and didn't have a single branded piece of clothing.

Thinking of this, he slowed his pace, waiting until they were out of sight before taking out his phone, "Order a hundred outfits, a hundred pairs of shoes, and a hundred bags for my daughter, all unique in the world! They must be delivered before sunset today!"

"Abella, from now on, this is your home." Kimberly held Abella's hand as they walked into the villa.

The garden was bursting with exotic flowers and plants, rare species everywhere you looked.

In the middle of the garden, thirty servants stood at attention—there were butlers, drivers, guards, chefs, gardeners, maids, and bodyguards.

They all bowed in unison, "Welcome home, Ms. Medici!"

Walking through the fairy-tale garden, they entered the main hall, which was filled with valuable paintings and priceless antiques.

Didn't they say her family was poor?

Abella's eyes landed on a painting that had recently sold for three hundred million dollars at an auction!

It was a masterpiece by an ancient artist, and Abella could tell it was the real deal.

Kimberly noticed her gaze and, trying to make conversation, asked happily, "Abella, do you like that painting? We can hang it in your room if you want."

"No need." Abella was just surprised by the sheer number of collections in the house. Unfortunately, this classical painting looked out of place among the modern art pieces.

"You don't like it? Take it down!" Beckett immediately ordered.

The butler standing nearby looked a bit reluctant.

This painting was a rare, top-quality piece, but Beckett was willing to take it down just because of Abella!

The kicker was, this painting was Lola Medici's favorite!

Abella noticed the butler's hostility but didn't care. She casually suggested to her parents, "You can hang it inside."

Her eyes fell on a nearby lounge, where several classical works were displayed. The classical style of the lounge would complement the painting, really showcasing its beauty.

But the butler was heartbroken. Such an expensive painting should be displayed for everyone to see. Abella clearly didn't understand its value!

"I also think hanging it inside is a good idea!" Kimberly was the first to support, "My precious daughter has such good taste!"

The butler remained silent.

"Abella, there's coffee, fruit, and snacks here. Help yourself, don't be shy in your own home!" Beckett said dotingly.

Abella picked up a coffee cup and took a sip.

She savored another sip, the pure coffee aroma lingering in her mouth, with a lasting aftertaste. It was top-quality coffee beans.

"Abella, have some snacks." Kimberly pushed the snacks towards Abella, speaking with mixed emotions, "I didn't lose you on purpose back then."

"I know." Faced with Kimberly's sadness, Abella felt a bit soft-hearted. Who would lose their child on purpose?

"How did you find me?" Abella asked.

"Recently, the Wilson family issued a missing person notice, mentioning the events of that year. I happened to see it and felt uneasy. I had nightmares for several days, so I asked your father to investigate. After investigating, we found out that you are our biological daughter, and the daughter we raised for eighteen years is not our biological child." At this sad point, Kimberly shed tears, "I'm sorry, it's our fault that you ended up in someone else's home."

Beckett, beside her, was also full of guilt, "I was too careless back then. I didn't investigate thoroughly and brought Lola home. This time, we also looked into her background. Her biological mother died in a fire, and her biological father's whereabouts are unknown. After raising her for eighteen years, I just find it hard to kick her out. So we wanted to discuss with you if she could stay in this home. From now on, you are the elder sister, and she is the younger sister, okay?"
