When Breakfast Got Serious

When Breakfast Got Serious

After everyone had eaten and the servants came and cleared everything away, everyone noticed a sudden change in the room.  All the doors and windows were closed tight, the curtains were drawn, and the lights were turned on but not too bright.  Once all the servants left, Bruce and Cordelia got up to lock the doors and moved some of the tables and chairs out of the way to make a large space in the middle of the private dining room.  Once done, they sat back at the table.

Everyone watched silently not knowing what to do.

“Ladies and gentlemen.”  Velvette began to speak.  “I had a visit with The Fates.”

Little gasps came from some of them at the table.  They all knew that was a rare occurrence.  Especially Cordelia and Bruce.  But they were already briefed on what was to happen.

“As most of you know, the next two years have already been lived.  Everyone here, except Alexander and Alexandria have your memories.  What you didn’t know is that going back to the beginning of the time loop has broken it.”

“Just like that?  It’s over?”  Frankie asked in amazement.  “So time is now moving forward as it would normally?”

“Yes.  Rosemary chose Pierce.  She just worded it differently.”  Velvette smiled at Rosemary.  “You won’t need the failsafe that Georgia created.  However, its components may come in handy for what you all are about to face.  The timeline has already been altered.  Consider what you all went through a trial run.  Learn from it.”

“My sister and I don’t have these memories.”  Alexander spoke up.

“I can make the memory elixir.”  Georgia said confidently.

“It won’t help.  The timeline has reset, and those memories haven’t even happened for everyone else.  You all remember them because you took the elixirs during the time loop.”

“Oh no.”  Georgia put her hands up to her mouth.

“Including Stark.”  Velvette stated.

“Including Stark.”  Georgia echoed.  “I’m so sorry.  I didn’t know his full plan until it was too late.  I knew he was doing something, I just… I had my suspicions, but I was blinded by…I just wanted to make him happy.”

“You just wanted him to make you happy with how he fucked you.”  Alexandria spat out.  She couldn’t understand why Georgia was even there.

“Well, I…”  Georgia stammered nervously.

“Come on.  You were in love with the crazy old asshole.  Everyone knew it.  And you did everything he asked of you.  Even if you knew it was wrong.  And now, you have your hooks in my brother?!  Why is everyone happy that they’re together?  If you have all lived the next two years already, why is this a good thing?”  She motioned wildly to Alexander and Georgia.

“I knew of some things.  I just didn’t see the whole picture.”  Georgia stated feeling defeated.

“Bullshit.  You’re just as twisted as he was.  You loved him.  And you did everything he wanted in hopes he would make you his luna, or at the very least, his side dish.”  Lexy proudly stood up.  “So you’ll take us out from the inside?  Is that the new plan?  How do you have everyone fooled?  You’re his stupid lackey.  I’ve seen it with my own eyes.  You would blow up the world if it would make him happy.”

“Lexy, that’s enough.”  Alexander spoke sternly.

Georgia touched his arm gently and he looked at her in surprise.  And though she was shorter, she stood up and looked Lexy square in the eyes.

“Those two years were hell.  You didn’t live them, I did.  And I will live with the pain and the guilt that I caused.  But this?  This is the chance of a literal lifetime.  I can fix a lot of it.  Most of the damage that Stark and I did… that I did.  It won’t happen.  I can fix it.  We can all fix it.  That’s why we’re here.”

“How are we supposed to believe you?”

“Because he killed me!  He found out that I was giving information to Frankie and he had me killed by one of the very rogue wolves I helped him control.  I saw the gratification on his face as I bled to death in excruciating pain on the street in front of him.  I saw the fake tears he made roll down his cheeks as he mind linked patrol to come and try to save me.  The second I betrayed him he knew it, and I knew my life was going to be over.  But I also knew that even if I never came back from dying, everything he needed to complete his work would die with me.  And him standing over me that night…  and me knowing what I had done and the possible worse devastation I could have caused, all to get Rosemary to be his mate…”  Georgia looked down to see Alexander holding her hand and she holding his tightly.  Tears were streaming down her face and dropping onto their hands.  She sat down to look at him and he started to wipe her tears away with a napkin.  “I never thought I’d ever meet my mate.  I didn’t even think I had one.  I hoped… but I gave up on it.  I’ll understand if you - don’t – want – me – since – I – have – a – history – with – Stark…”  She hiccupped her words out.

“Babygirl.  It’s alright.  Just breathe.”  He was trying not to cry.

“I’m sorry.”  She whispered.  “I’m so sorry.”

“Just breathe.”  He said soothingly and handed her another napkin.  He rubbed her back as she tried to calm herself.  She hadn’t had a chance to process any of the emotions she had felt since the night he killed her and with Lexy yelling at her, it all came out at once.

“Georgia, I didn’t know.  You guys have really lived the next two years already?”  Lexy asked, now remorseful for her outburst.

They all nodded solemnly.

“I would trust Georgia with my life.”  Frankie stated.  “She’s seen it and lived through it.  And now she can stop it.  We all can.  Together.”

“And with the changes already happening, there should be less attacks on the Rising Blue Crescent Pack.”  Pierce added.

“Rebekah said that the rogue wolves going to Alpha Alexanders pack was a distraction, so we’d have less patrolmen on our land.  So why is he a pivotal part in this?  No offense.  But with the rogue wolves stopped, his pack is safe now so he wouldn’t need to deal with any of this.”  Max asked.

“Actually, that was a cover up.”  Georgia answered.  Still trying to calm down.  She didn’t want to hide anything from him anymore.  “It did serve as a cover up, but he targeted Alexanders pack for a reason.”  Georgia swallowed hard and looked at Velvette who nodded for her to continue.  Then she looked at Alexander.  “We were doing experiments on rogue wolves.  He was pulling the life force out of them and injecting himself with the serum.  In turn, we would inject a reverse serum into them that would basically turn the wolves into his slaves.”
