Chapter – Epilogue
Ace Rhodes.
"Honey, give me my phone back. I promise I'll buy you a Lego set," I said as I reached out for my phone, which was precariously close to being flung into the jug by my mischievous two-year-old nephew, Ezra. He regarded me with those innocent yet determined eyes, considering my offer.
Noah, ever the responsible dad, stood nearby, leaning against the door, his arms crossed, and a knowing smirk on his face. "Fucking help me, man," I muttered to him, desperation creeping into my voice.
Noah tsked and gave me a disapproving look. "Don't cuss in front of my child," he mocked and I rolled my eyes.
Just when I was about to resign myself to the fate of my phone meeting a watery grave, the door swung open, and Emily's voice echoed through the house. "I'm home!" she announced with a warm smile, her presence shifting Ezra's focus entirely.
In the blink of an eye, my phone was forgotten, left on the table as Satan’s spawn dashed towards the door, yelling, "Mommy!" It was a swift and dramatic change of priorities, something I'd grown accustomed to witnessing since Ezra and Zoe entered our lives.
I sighed in relief as I put my phone back in my pocket. With Ezra happily reunited with his mother and a very cranky Zoe in her arms, I decided to join Isabelle, who had her hands full with a few bags and a growing baby bump. Her four-month pregnancy was evident, and it filled me with a profound sense of satisfaction.
I took the bags from her hands and helped her settle on the sofa, my heart brimming with affection. I couldn't resist the urge to rub her tummy gently, feeling the presence of our unborn child beneath my touch. A loving smile graced my lips as I leaned in to kiss her.
"How is my princess and this little bundle of joy?" I inquired, my voice soft as I rubbed her stomach.
Isabelle leaned into my embrace, resting her head against my chest. "I'm fine. Just tired," she replied, her voice soft and content.
As I held her close, one hand cradling her growing bump, I couldn't help but reflect on the perfection of my life in this very moment.
With Isabelle in my arms, I knew that I was the luckiest man in the world. I couldn't wait to spend the rest of my life with her and our growing family.

As I drove Isabelle to the hospital, her contractions coming closer together, I couldn't help but feel a mixture of excitement and nervousness. My knuckles were white as I gripped the steering wheel, my foot pressing a little too hard on the gas pedal.
Isabelle, sitting in the passenger seat, was taking deep breaths, her face contorted with pain during each contraction. I reached over and placed my hand on her shoulder, trying to offer some comfort as we navigated the busy streets.
Finally, we arrived at the hospital, and the process of admitting Isabelle to the labor ward was a blur of forms and hurried steps. I felt like I was on the verge of fainting from nervousness, my heart pounding in my chest.
A nurse called my name, snapping me out of my daze. "Mr. Rhodes, your wife is asking for you," she said kindly.
I rushed into the delivery room and saw Isabelle lying on the hospital bed, her face flushed with exertion. A doctor stood at her legs, offering words of encouragement and guidance.
I went to her side, taking her hand in mine, offering her a reassuring smile. "You got this, Princess," I whispered, my voice soft.
She squeezed my hand tightly as she continued to push through the pain. It was the kind of experience I’d never had in my life but I knew I had to be strong for her. For the little baby.
Half an hour later, after what felt like an eternity, I stood beside her with my little princess cradled in my arms. Tears welled up in my eyes as I gazed down at our beautiful daughter, a rush of emotions washing over me.
I leaned down, pressing a soft kiss to Isabelle's forehead, my voice quivering with emotions. "Thank you for everything, Princess," I whispered to her.
As I held our precious baby in my arms, I couldn't help but think about how much I already loved her. I knew that I would do anything and everything to protect and care for this little miracle and my wife.
My forever. My everything.
