Chapter 15: Snake
I exited her room and headed towards her living room. I forced the grin off my face. This is the start of your misery. I stirred the glass.
You won't be prepared for the destruction and ruin I will bring upon you.
I took my cellphone from my bag. I was also wearing the bracelet aunt Amber bought for me. I was wearing a floral dress and a simple Prada sling bag, paired with cute peach flat sandals.
I kept myself busy with my phone, waiting for Yanna to finish what she was doing. That woman takes forever to do anything. Oh yeah, she was probably trying to stop Kyle from coming here.
I just shook my head and grinned audibly.
Truth be told, I wanted to go home since I had already done what I needed to do in her condo, but to avoid her getting suspicious, I decided to stay here for about an hour.
You're going to waste an hour, Yvonne, for real?! For this fake Santa and innocent girl?
I rolled my eyes again and stared at a bouquet filled with red roses out of boredom. I approached it and held the bouquet and the petals of the roses.
I noticed a card and a small red box tucked inside. I first took the red card and read what was written on it.
"I love you so much... Happy Birthday, babe."
-K. Q
What does K.Q stand for? Kyle Quinto? Yuck.
If I'm not mistaken, this handwriting is exactly like Kyle's. The small card was almost crumpled from how hard I was gripping it.
I didn't receive even a simple gift from that man. I rolled my eyes, cleared my throat, and recomposed myself.
I was the only one who always gave him gifts, and all of them were from my own money. Now, I deeply regret ever loving him and letting him into my life.
That jerk. My life was peaceful before he arrived. He courted me, confused my mind, made me fall, and when I finally accepted him into my life, he had the audacity to cheat?
He should have just not bothered me and gone after the girl he fancied instead. Then I wouldn't be this heartbroken.
I then turned my gaze to the small black box beside the red roses. I slowly opened it, and the shining ring inside the box blinded me. My mood worsened at the sight of the jewelry.
I felt my anger rise, and I felt like I was about to explode with just one more provocation. That cheater and brute man!
He has the audacity to gift the thing I gave him! The absolute gall!
I gave him a sparkling half-a-million worth ring and he just gifts it to this woman?!
I almost threw the box I was holding out of anger, irritation, and regret. It was a mix of emotions I was feeling.
I carelessly threw it back into the bouquet and sat back down on the sofa. I glared at Yanna's picture next to her flat-screen TV. I wanted to throw the pillows next to me at it and break her TV!
When I heard her footsteps, I adjusted my expression. I softened my face and dimmed the fiery glint in my eyes. I also unclenched my hand, calmed my whole system and pushed away the anger that was slowly spreading within me.
"Sorry, I got held up," Yanna said to me.
I smiled and nodded at her. You probably spoke to my jerk of an ex. Ex-boyfriend, because that's where our relationship ended up.
She put down the things she prepared on a small table. Two glasses of orange juice and banana pancakes. She sat next to me when she finished.
My cellphone rang and I saw it was my cousin calling. I picked it up and answered. I took a pancake that Yanna cooked and accidentally knocked over a glass of orange juice.
"Yvonne," I heard my cousin's baritone voice before a loud scream from in front of me.
"Oh my God!" Yanna screamed as she got doused in cold orange juice.
Even though I wanted to laugh out loud, I pretended to be worried about her. I stood up and approached her while holding my cellphone.
"Oh my! It was an accident, Yanna," I said. I didn't want to say sorry because I liked what happened to her.
She deserved it!
"It's okay, Yvonne," she said softly, but there was irritation in her voice.
I rolled my eyes as I watched her wipe herself off. She excused herself to go to her room and I nodded.
Only then did I let out a smirk when she was out of my sight. That b*tch deserves it. It's not even enough. She should be dragged through the mud.
"What happened?! Yvonne, are you still there?"
I looked back at my cellphone. Oh right, I answered my cousin's call.
"I'm still here. Don't panic, okay? It was nothing, I just spilled juice on the dog and it yelped,"
"Huh? A dog? I heard a woman scream—"
"Alright, I'm hanging up now, I'll come over later,"
I stared at my cellphone as it emitted a beep, signaling an incoming message. Curiosity piqued, I quickly unlocked the device and opened the text.
Treshian:
You know what, you're incredibly rude.
A mischievous grin spread across my face as I read the message. Ah, Treshian, my dear cousin. How well you know me, or so you think. You see, I possess a darkness that surpasses your wildest imaginings. Negative words can only scratch the surface of my true nature, the depths of my twisted behavior.
Without hesitation, I made a conscious decision not to respond, opting instead to redirect my attention to the hidden camera I had strategically placed in Yanna's room. It was a source of both amusement and satisfaction for me, as it allowed me to observe her every move without her knowledge.
Yanna, on the other hand, seemed completely oblivious to my surveillance as she rummaged through her wardrobe, desperately searching for a suitable replacement outfit. Frustration etched itself onto her face as she muttered under her breath, clearly annoyed by something or someone.
"That godd*mn woman is so annoying! Why did she have to show up here?!" Yanna exclaimed, her voice tinged with irritation.
A hateful word slipped from my lips, uttered in a low murmur. How dare she provoke me in such a manner? This pathetic excuse for a woman had the audacity to call me a bitch? I couldn't help but feel that the term would be better suited to describe her.
"I hope she leaves soon!" Yanna muttered, her irritation evident in her voice.
I raised an eyebrow, taken aback by her sudden forgetfulness. Had she conveniently forgotten that she had invited me to visit? Perhaps this woman's mental faculties were rapidly deteriorating, clouded by her own foolishness.
Meanwhile, Yanna engrossed herself in a conversation on her phone, a conversation that I was certain was with Kyle. His distinct manner of speaking left little doubt in my mind. I had yet to encounter anyone else who possessed such a unique vocal cadence during their phone conversations.
As Yanna continued to speak, her voice dripped with affection, causing the hair on the back of my neck to stand on end. It wasn't fear that coursed through my veins, but rather an intense repulsion towards her.
Thanks to the loudspeaker function on her phone, I could hear Kyle's response loud and clear.
"Tsk. Hasn't she left yet?"
A wicked smirk tugged at the corners of my lips. Kyle had hit the nail on the head. Oh, Kyle... Kyle... What a despicable creature he was.
"No, Kyle. I'll let you know as soon as she's gone. That way, you can come over immediately. I miss you already..." Yanna's voice oozed with longing.
My eyes widened, almost popping out of their sockets from the sheer magnitude of my eye-rolling. The nauseating display of affection between the two of them confirmed my suspicions. They had already engaged in their lascivious activities, their bodies intertwined in a grotesque act of passion.
There was no longer any room for doubt in my mind. Both of them were shamelessly promiscuous and insatiable in their desires.
I still remember the countless arguments I had with Kyle about that subject. He persistently wanted to have sex with me, but I consistently refused, which often led to heated arguments between us.
He finally stopped insisting on it this year, only for me to discover that he had been satisfying his lust with someone else. What a truly despicable person he is.
My self-love is immense. I've been incredibly patient about the 'sex' issue. I may be a bit wild, but I still want to reserve myself for the right one. The one who will be truthful, who is destined to be with me forever.
Despite feeling like a fool for what I'm currently doing, knowing that he's in a relationship with someone else and is deceiving me, I still haven't cut ties with him. This is all part of my plan.
Their conversation ended after a while. When Yanna started dressing up, I quickly turned off my phone and switched back to my Facebook app. There wasn't much I could do, so I just let it be.
After a while, Yanna returned, now in a fresh outfit and wearing a mask of innocence and purity.
I sneaked a bitter smile. I am just one of the many victims of her pretentiousness and deception.
She is akin to a snake, constantly shedding and changing her skin, but she remains a seductress, a danger, ready to strike at any time.
