Chapter 45 Monitoring Vincent

Chapter 45 Monitoring Vincent
Omniscient Narrative

Tonight, Vincent's life would shift irrevocably, and Aries reveled in the thought. He yearned to unleash the damning proof of the betrayal once and for all and watch as the facade crumbled.

It has been weeks since Aries has been planning this. Each inch of Vincent's life was now measured—his schedule, routes, and routine becoming Aries's guiding lines.

He'd studied how Vincent moved, shadowing him discreetly but never revealing himself.

The best part of the plan? Making it look accidental.

He had gained access to the garage where Vincent had parked his car, and that was where the real magic would ignite.

'They really need to get better security' Aries spoke as he snuck into their house.

Aries envisioned reaching his goal, a controlled accident where Vincent would be left vulnerable—not harmed severely, but shaken enough to bring the walls of his world crashing down.

As he prepared, Aries assessed the tools and equipment required. Just a slight alteration to the brake lines—a subtle adjustment that would lead to failure when Vincent needed them most.

He relished the knowledge that no one would suspect foul play.

The evening air was cool as Aries approached the garage, the quiet hum of life that surrounded him changing to eerie stillness. He moved quickly and precisely, his heart racing with adrenaline as he slipped into the darkness of the garage-the scent of oil and metal filling his senses-

With a sinister grin, he removed the tools he needed. He could hear the faint echo of laughter from Vincent's house, the warmth seeping into the cold shadows welcoming him in.

Aries worked swiftly, tampering with the brake lines to ensure they could not withstand the pressure.

Just a slight tweak, enough to cause chaos without inflicting grave harm. The chaos would spark waves that would ripple through everything Vincent held dear, unraveling the threads of trust and love.

.

Everything was in place. Aries managed to keep in touch with Kai intermittently, feigning innocence even while the air crackled with bitterness and longing for the shorter man, unknown to him about the younger man's plan to eliminate his husband.

Meanwhile, Vincent had no idea he would soon become the unwitting target of Aries's evil plan.

Everyday life continued, filled with errands, work, and the everyday threatening of his secret about to be revealed.

Vincent was oblivious to what was about to go down.

.

The day finally arrived when everything would unfold. Little did Vincent know, as he slipped into the driver's seat, that the very apparatus designed to protect him would soon betray him.

Vincent's day began like any other. He awoke bleary-eyed, stretching against the soft bed linens while the early morning light danced through the curtains.

He had meetings to prepare for and a life that demanded his unwavering attention.

His phone buzzed with notifications, reminders of the busy road ahead—the clock ticking as he breathed in the smell of brewing coffee wafting from the kitchen. And as he navigated through his morning—getting dressed and grabbing his belongings—he felt the pressure of the day weighing heavily.

'Hopefully I don't hear from that man today'

Slipping into the familiar embrace of his car, Vincent felt the gear shift smoothly under his fingertips.

The chilly leather seats welcomed him as he adjusted the rearview mirror, glancing back toward the morning hustle outside. Everything felt right.

He drove through the winding roads. The sun was hot and glaring, he headed toward his first destination—a crucial business meeting that would determine the future of a potential partnership.

Yet somewhere, in the back of his mind, he couldn't shake off a bad feeling. Despite the deceptive calm, something felt off, nagging at his subconscious as he pressed the accelerator.

.

As Vincent merged onto the main road, the traffic flowed effortlessly around him. He started humming to the music streaming from the car's speakers, blissfully unaware of the ticking clock and the upcoming disaster.

Then, as he pressed the brake to slow down for a red light, he felt a disconcerting shift, the brake pedal sunk deeper, hesitation coursing through his veins.

Panic surged as he desperately pressed down harder, the world flashing in slow motion around him.

"What the fuck! Woah!" he shouted, eyes wide with terror. The brakes screeched in defiance, lost in the chaos as the car surged forward.

Everything descended into chaos as the traffic light changed, sending him barreling toward the intersection at breakneck speed. He was losing control.

An instinctual roar enveloped him as adrenaline surged through his body.

Vincent swerved, desperately pulling the wheel in a panic attempt to avert fate.

He caught a glimpse of the oncoming traffic rushing toward him, blurring shapes becoming defined enemies in the battle he fought against the impending doom.

The world around him exploded into a flurry of motion, horns blaring and people screaming, time slowing to a crawl as he grasped for the worst.

He slammed the wheel to the side, sending the car careening onto the sidewalk, hitting what felt like a barrier.

An explosive crunch followed, a blaring sound of metal against metal sounded through the air as the world around him spun violently.

Searing pain flared through him as the car finally skidded to a halt against a lamppost.

.

Dazed, Vincent struggled against the confines of his seatbelt, his breath coming in sharp gasps.

The horrible smell of smoke and twisted metal assaulted him, making it hard to breathe.

Finally managing to unbuckle himself, he stumbled out of the wreckage, shaken but alive.

As Vincent emerged into the chaotic surroundings, he felt light-headed, the reality of the wreck flashing before his mind like a demented carousel.

The bystanders' faces around him were a collage of concern and shock as someone dialed for help.

"Sir, are you okay?" a voice pierced through the fog enveloping his senses.

"I... I think so," he mumbled, hands shaking as he gripped the hood of the car for balance. "What happened?" He asked as he couldn't believe what had just happened.
