19. Getting a Job

Ana POV

"You got along with Vernon so quickly. Even though the beginning of your meeting didn't seem good." Leo spoke to me.

Right now me, Leo, and Sam were eating at a restaurant.

I laughed softly. "It's true that the first impression of our meeting was bad. But it's not that bad. Vernon is really nice. Vernon wants to feed and water me."

Sam raised one eyebrow at that remark. "Really? That kid is really weird. What kind of kidnapping is that?"

"Shouldn't I be grateful? Even though Vernon kidnapped me, he didn't do anything bad to me." I don't know what the relationship is between Leo, Sam and Vernon. But it's certain that Vernon didn't hurt me during the time he kidnapped me.

"That's right. Never mind, there's no need to discuss Vernon anymore. The important thing is that Ana is already here. Vernon's a good kid anyway, it's just that he's a little annoying. And Sam doesn't like Vernon." Leo didn't seem to want any more fuss about Vernon.

I nodded my head. I went back to enjoying my meal.

"By the way, I want to find a job," I said suddenly.

Sam and Leo, who were chewing their food solemnly, suddenly looked straight at me.

"What? Work?" Leo asked me with a confused face.

"Yes, work. I want to find a job." I meant what I said.

"Why would you want to look for a job? Aren't you already working with us? You clean the apartment and take care of the apartment, cook food for us, isn't that a job? We'll pay you too. Why look for another job?" Sam looked at me with a serious gaze.

"That's right Sam. Don't you also know that you work for us? That's why you're in our apartment right?" Leo asked me.

I let out my breath. "But I feel confined. I never leave the apartment, I don't have anything to do after I clean the house. I want to work outside, keep myself busy. I want to see people, not just be at home watching TV." I was so bored alone in the apartment. When Sam and Leo went to work, I really felt lonely.

"Why do you want to work when I feel like resigning because the work is piling up?" Leo asked me.

"There's no need to work outside. You don't know how dangerous the people in this city are? You don't know this city and you don't know the people who live here. It's quite dangerous for you. So it's better that you don't have to work outside."

I frowned after hearing Leo's words.

"Why? Isn't anything difficult at the beginning? I think you guys felt it too when you first started working. I don't mind the difficulties I have. I can definitely handle it well." I really wanted to work so badly.

"Did you give Ana a paycheck yet, Leo?" Sam asked Leo.

"Not yet," Leo replied.

I was surprised to hear Sam's question. "No! No! No, that's not what I meant. I just wanted to overcome my boredom of being alone in the apartment. That's why I want to work. I don't feel like I'm short of money. Having no money is fine because I live with you guys." I explained to Sam and Leo so that they wouldn't misunderstand me.

I looked at Leo's face, which looked haggard. The change in his face was very significant. Whereas earlier his face was not sluggish at all.

"How about you work with us?" Leo asked me.

I wrinkled my forehead in confusion, what did he mean?

"What do you mean?" I asked Leo.

"I mean, how about you work with us." Leo explained to me.

"What do you mean Leo? work with us? work in what department? Ana won't be able to work with us. The easiest job would be cleaning the office. But that's very tiring." Sam looked at me as he spoke.

"Wouldn't it be better for you to stay at home? Instead of being a cleaner in the office, it's better for you to stay at home." Sam really looked at me sharply. I was a little intimidated.

"What did you graduate from? High school or college?" Leo asked me.

"I graduated from a pretty famous college. I got a scholarship at the time. If I hadn't gotten the scholarship, I probably wouldn't have been able to go to college." I answered honestly.

"Scholarship?" Leo looked surprised at my words.

"Then you're smart." Leo continued, making me blush.

"If you're this smart, how about being my and Sam's personal assistant or secretary in the office?" Leo offered me various job positions.

I looked at Sam's face which had changed drastically. He couldn't even finish chewing the food in his mouth when he heard Leo speak.

"Seriously, Leo. Would you die hiring people who don't know anything about business?" Sam asked Leo.

"Besides, my secretary is still around, why did you offer her the job? You're so weird." Sam seemed to disagree with Leo.

I didn't dare speak up when I saw Sam's face turn sinister. It looks like Sam really doesn't want to see me work.

"That's your secretary. I have a secretary too. But I mean, Ana will be both of our secretaries. So then both of our secretaries will send all the schedules to Ana. Our secretaries will collaborate with Ana. Isn't that a good thing?" I saw the hint of a smile on Leo's lips. Leo is a good boy, always supporting me. I'm really lucky to know Leo.

"Then she's just like our maid. But a version in the world of work. And the fact is that at home he is our maid. If you're both helping us, as our maid, why work in an office anymore? It's the same job anyway. Both of us take care of each other." Sam spoke her heart out.

I swallowed my food with difficulty after hearing Sam's words. It seems Sam really thinks I have no skills and can't do anything.

"The tasks are different, Sam. Why do you always give me a headache? It's obvious that the tasks to be carried out are different." Leo shook his head, then he sighed heavily.

I looked at Leo and Sam with a bit of fear. The atmosphere was a little tense.

"It's okay, I won't discuss this anymore. And I'm also okay with staying at home and not having any work outside the house. I'll try to enjoy it." I smiled, reassuring Sam and Leo.

Leo frowned after hearing my words.

"No way! From tomorrow you'll be working as our secretary. Isn't that what you want to do? Work?" Leo asked me. I could only nod in response.

"Well, this is the answer. You'll be working with us starting tomorrow."

I was shocked when I heard Leo's words just now. What? Leo approved me to work outside the house? And what's even better is that I'm working with Leo and Sam.

"What's the point of working in an office if it's to work for us? It's the same as you in the apartment, both working for us. You're better off in the apartment." Sam didn't seem to approve of Leo's decision for me earlier.

"How can you talk about that bike? Are you drunk?" I saw Leo arguing a bit with Sam...

"A flight attendant and a housemaid both serve someone. Are stewardesses and maids the same just because their jobs are the same? Is it the same job?" I saw Leo asking Sam a serious question.

"Do you know the answer?" Leo asked Sam.

"Tomorrow you can join us at work." Leo told me as he said that to me.

I was so happy. My teeth felt dry because I had only been smiling because I was happy.

"There's no need to think about Sam. Sam believes in us." Leo smiled at me. It's as if he knows my heart is worried about Sam.

I looked at Sam. Sam just kept quiet and went back to eating his food.

Looks like what Leo said was right. I don't need to think about Sam, Sam isn't that bad. And Leo will always have my back.

I'm so happy that I'm finally going to work tomorrow. Now I won't feel bored anymore just staying in the apartment without any friends. Leo really is the best, he always gives me what I want. I really admire and thank Leo a lot.
